Fighting on TV debates, what lesson they want to give us?

Healthy debates are boring to watch. It is like taking satvik food every day.

well i think that the news channel wants to show the truth by making the two side minister fight with each other but at last nothing goes right and the debate which was boosting at the starting goes down and the program has to be stopped because of time allegation

Really beautiful. For many "  A thing of beauty is a joy forever." After all be buy a TV for having uninterrupted Joy.

I wonder why the lady astrologist could not foresee the coming events and avoid the show. Of what use is her astrological knowledge if she could not know beforehand that there was trouble ahead in the TV programme.

How she can foresee ? Astrologers are living on the gullibility of the people. This aspect has been well utilized by these Astrologers and cheating the public.

There are arguments both for and against astrology ...so, it is not rational to simply say it is bogus without actually analysing it because there are many who have immense faith in it.

It's true that there are many believers. That's why Astrology is surviving. I do not believe in Astrology.

Astrology is bogus. It has very cleverly aligned itself with the pre- determined orbitals of the planets and linked it to attributes and happenings that will take place tp persons born in a particular time during a year. This gives it a sense of certainty and ease of predictability which is cleverly exploited by the astrologists. The solutions offered by them to ward off or neutralise the effect of planets positioned millions of miles away are simply laughable. Yes it survives because people are afraid, gullible and want easy way out. Gulshanji has asked a pertinent question.

Really, only gullible people believe the predictions of Astrologers. They say they can stop the ill effects of Wrong planetary condition. Most of their predictions are generic and non specifying.

But it is a billion dollar plus industry. 

Of course. Astrologers leading a wealthy life. People are more curios to know what future has for them.

In our community the kundalis of boy and girl are to be matched, naturally by the Brahmins and only when they match they can go ahead to marry. But the Brahmin pandits are not required to match the kundalis of their children. Can there be a greater farce.

The same custom of matching the Kundalis of the Boy and the girl is in vogue in AP also. Generally they match which is predictable if a good amount of money change hands

During mu Post graduation I had a classmate from AP who was not interested in studying. He shared with me that his father has forced him to do so because he can extract a fat dowry from his bride's family by offering a post graduate rather than a simple graduate. Great.

Yes. Definitely. Many people force their sons for an alliance with a girl who has tons of money, least bothering about the Boy's willingness.

Most eminent people who say that they never believe in Astrology toe the line and get the Kundalis matched when it comes to their own children. I have seen this happening with so many so called rationalists who have done this either due to family pressure or not wanting to take a chance when it is a question of their children's future !

I gave importance only to the compatibility of the boy and the girl taking the views of both the Boy and the Girl.  Mine is a family where  many inter caste marriages took place. Hence no question of matching Kundalis. In my presence i arrange a free talk between the boy and the girl. I encourage even private talks without any elders.

I am making a general comment....

 I can understand. I quoted my example  to show exceptions. I too met with stiff opposition from my family members in this regard. I simply brushed them aside.

It's Ok if you  make a general comment.
