There is an advertisement by government saying that 'This is best time for girls in India'.
We may accept that the government is doing a lot for women and girls. But is this okay to say that these days are best for girls in India?

I don't agree with it there are still many things which government has to do for the welfare of the girls. There are still many girls in the villages who are given the opportunity to study and are married at the age when they should study. :(
One cannot expect sudden changes, but in India changes as regards women and status of women has been very slow , mainly because of the mind set of our men who are still very old fashioned and are not able to think that women are at par with them.Just verbally coming out with statements does very little, there should be a change of attitude which has to be inculcated to children since childhood. For this parents should have the right attitude in the first place..

I can't agree with the statement of Government of India. It is not the best time definitely. Rather you can say good or better.

An advertisement ? from the Government of India? All those sweet figures are blatant lies. No way I believe them.
Every one wants a rapid change, men, women, boys and girls and the government is doing best what it takes to get votes. One has to do his or own self if she/he willing to improve. No one is coming to help any one. This is not the state that thinks in terms of welfare of public but self interest especially, votes. Go getup, snatch what you need.
It is good to be a girl but especially not good to be in Indian Government
All the so called developments are only for name sake. True, girls have enrolled in schools, but they dont provide separate toilet facilities to them which they feel embarrased and they develop urinary tract infections just because they dont provide proper sanitation facilities
Girls in offices are not less, we need to fight issues like male ego, ceiling effect, harassment in the office by words as well as physical.........endless!!!!!!

I personally feel that a lot of things are being done to improve the status of the women , but to change the attitude of people takes a long time, may be a few generations at least...when the government takes the initiative it does seep down to the average mans level and it is bound to have some positive changes in the long run..
