I don't know why they don't go for computer typing subject instead of those old type writer..
That was way back when there were no computers. :laugh:
SJ.. In Rajastan they still having this typing subject.. :dry:

Yes.. That's what I mentioned.. There is no need of that subject as there is no future of it.

they are around 20 years behind than others. :)
Typing was good to study in that time as people used to get jobs by learning typing and short hands. :)

I learnt English and Hindi typing in matriculation/ Intermediate in Commerce stream. There is now no career in typing and shorthand. But that knowledge is still helpful. I can type speedily on computer, which has a key board similar to manual type writer.

First 5 letters of keyboard 'QWERT' was taken from type writer.....I think person who discovered type writer or type writing machine.....not sure

I am not saying its not helpful... Yes it is.. But now learning typing on those type writers is a old thing.. Now if there is something like typing subject than they should directly teach it on computer.

No doubt typing knowledge helps but when as now we don't have typewrites so its better for people to take that training on keyboards rather than of typewriters.It would be more helpful. :)

I agree. In fact, I encourage beginners to learn typing on computer similarly as on manual type writer.
