Suicide not a criminal offence

Presently, an attempt to commit suicide is a punishable offence. This is obviously unfair as the person needs counseling and help rather than prosecution. Soon this may be removed from offence list. State governments are being consulted.

    The rule is though good in no way it affects anyone who wants to attempt suicide. In general, spirtually sucide is considered as a offence, so the rule must have been implemented like that. I think if any person attempts suicide and still alive needs consultation.

    Suicide is a criminal offence this is the known law to everyone.But on giving counselling many can change their option to live.

    There is a paradox. When some body actually commits suicide, he cannot be punished. He can be punished only if he fails in his attempt. Again, a crime is usually for harming some one. Here, the offender harms himself only. Hence, this needs reconsideration. It is better to change the law and treat the person committing suicide with sympathy and help him instead of punishing.

    If suicide is person's own decision then it is bit different. In some cases, a person is forced to commit suicide or he/she kills itself out of fear or they are adviced to commit suicide.
    I would say suicide is a crime. Killing anybody, even itself is also crime.

    Suicide is a crime. any one who instigates some one to commit suicide is also punished for abetting suicide.

    Usually, a crime is committed for personal benefit and harming or injuring others. But the person committing suicide harms himself more as he ends his own life. This he does owing to his unstable mental condition. That is why he needs sympathy and care. But those who instigate some one to commit suicide must be punished.

    A mentally weak person needs sympathy and not punishment. When some one is on very miserable position and sees no solution, he commits suicide. This happens to those heavily indebted and harassed by creditors, critically sick and hoping no improvement and those harassed by family and others.

    The persons with suicidal trait need sympathy and counselling unlike those who encourage suicide and must be drastically punished.
