India is rich with Godmen and Godwomen!All of them have devotees in western countries!!

Till recent past Baba Ramdev was doing well to promote Yoga and its rich culture among the Indians but of late he has been surrounded with a lot of controversies which tarnished his name to an extent and fingers are rising against him from different nooks and corners on different aspects of things...

Swami Ramdev has been promoting Yoga as a system of exercise and medicine. Ayurved is ancient medicine system that Patanjali Trust promoted bt Baba Ramdev encourages. Baba Ramdev strongly campaigned against imported cold drinks like coco Cola that contain harmful ingradients causing bone weakness.

Baba Ramdev does not show miracles or promote individual worship or Gurudom (cult of Guru system often hereditory). He also does not specifically cater to the super rich for profit motive like others in name of 'art of living' etc.

He did well by campaigning against corruption, black money in Swiss banks and withdrawal of high denomination notes. We may not agree with him in all matters but decisively, he is exceptionally socially oriented Yoga Guru.

I don't have belief in today's Godmen. I am a follower of Saint Ramalinga Swami.

Ramdev Trusts and associate bodies are manufacturing health products, ayurvedic medicines and many other things. The link describes in detail these activities. It needs be viewed that all the activities are socially and econmically productive and Baba does not indulge in promoting cult of personality, superstitions etc. like others.

What I have been observing over the past few months particularly after CWG and 2G spectrum allocation scams came to surface that a vast majority of our people looking to anyone to lead them in waging a war against corruption which I tried to point out in my other posts in the forum , has been treacherously eating the vitals of this nation.So let us understand this basic reality. In a situation like this people tend to accept anyone like Anna Hazare or Baba Ramdev and the repressive measures let loose by the government against Ramdev are being interpreted by many as government's siding with the corrupt! The other day PM Manmohan was waxing eloquent that he held no magic wand to put an end to corrupt practices and that is to say the least is very ridiculous. The fact is he is a lame duck PM who had a colleague who's rotting in Tihar jail and this action came after Supreme Court took it upon itself to monitor the progress of 2G Spectrum case!! His party MP Suresh Kalmadi roamed free till public pressure ensured his passage to jail!! This is the record of this government in fighting corruption!

I think baba ramdev is never considered in godman list and i think he is having good reputation as yoga guru.

Christ said that it is easier for a camel to go through eye of needle than for a richman to enter kindgom of God. However, our 'Godmen' do not need to enter kingdom of God. They aspire to amass wealth. Crore of Rupees, jewels and gold were found in Late Sathya Sai Baba room recently.
