Very useful link. Didn't even realise that a simple action of keeping a mud filled bottle over the flush tank could optimized the flush and save water.

Many simple ways to conserve water , though really are available many of us waste precious water unknowingly.

Our need for water is directly proportional to the amount we waste. Very simple things like stopping the leaky toilets,  leaving the tap running needlessly can lead to a good amount of  water conservation.

I agree , it is the small everyday activities that require water that actually adds up. If each household is aware a lot of water can be conserved. The other day one of my neighboring lady was watering the garden and was on the cell phone as well thereby wasting water by leaving the hose here and there while the water ran on to the road. When I pointed it out , her excuse was it is well water. Does it matter ? Because water is a natural resource and the water table runs in a certain pattern thereby providing water to several Wells in the area. I feel people are far too selfish in our country .

I know a family friend, who while  shaving never stops the tap.Water flows on and on.

A better way to conserve water is water required for shaving should be taken in a Mug.. This practice saves lot of precious water.
