Modi has done the unthinkable by visiting Pakistan ina lightening visit and meeting Nawaz Shaarif. By all accounts it ws a diplomatic coup, but many in India led by Congress and some regional parties like Shiv Sena have condemned it.

Personally i feel its a great act of diplomacy and it was like the famous greek gladiator bearding the lion in his den. Well done Modi!!!

Zia ul Haq is dead and gone. No point talking about him now. the geo political situation has changed and Modi did the right thing in meeting Sharif.  I also liked teh RSS spokesperson who said that both Pak and Bangladesh should come back to mother country. Maybe it will happen some day. In the meantime Modi is on proper course. Help  him!

Like you I also expect it than one day Pak and Bangladesh come back to their native place India.

After Modi's visit to Pakistan, a kind of friendly atmosphere has been  created. With this there is a hope of merging of Pak and Bangladesh with India

This will happen at some stage as after all India was ONE for 4000 years. Now excavations have proved that Kanishka and Ashok even ruled Afghanistan

Akhand Bharat is the dream of every citizen of this country. I agree with you that one day the dream of the citizens will be a reality.

There are messages circulatiing  that Iran was part of India and separated in 12th century. Also Nepal is being left out.  Who knows what will happen in future, for the present let us try and ensure Kashmir remains with India.

You are right. One cannot foresee. And merging of Pakistan and Bangladesh is a hope.

What purpose will it serve when communally all are highly polarised? Hope should be for good things.

Are you going to lose anything by hoping ? See  the post of our member H Singh

Modiji's visit to Pakistan without prior information and without too much security check is similar to film actor Raj Kumar's dialog :

"जानी....हम तुमसे मिलेंगे ,,ज़रूर मिलेंगे

लेकिन वो ज़मीन भी तुम्हारी होगी,,,,इलाका भी तुम्हारा हो
गा,,,पार्टी भी तुम्हारी होगी,,,लेकिन वक़्त हमारा होगा।"

This is slam to all Pakistani terrorist groups who were claiming that they will not allow Modiji to enter their area.

An appropriate quote. Naturally Terrorists groups say like that. But remember before that the Modi-Nawaz Sherif's firm will, to open a new chapter on Indo Pak relations the Terrorist have to bow down. It should be borne in mind tat Pakistan on one side is executing terrorists one after another

We can expect many more such bold and unusual steps from PM Modi because it seems it's his trait to go out of the prescribed way. Let's hope to have some good response from our neighbour but somehow I have some doubts in my mind.

It's not Modi's trait who goes all out  for such exposures. Much earlier to this. Pakistan has responded positively to strengthen the relations between India and Pakistan. During their meet both vowed to end the Terrorism. The entire Media is  abuzz with news about Modi-Nawaz Sheriff's historic meet.

There was no statement issued after the Modi-Nawaz meet in Lahore. It was not a state visit. Please do not write what did not take place. Bhakti also has limits!!

Let the terrorism end and then we will get a lot of time to applaud those who worked towards it but not before it. As an Indian my best wishes are with both the heads of the two countries.

This message is not right. Iran was never part of India like Nepal was never part of India.

Personally speaking I feel that even the thought of uniting Pakistan and Bangla Desh with India is unthinkable and  filed with complications. We are better off now and if we could save and improve the basic amenities that would be good enough. As far as having friendly relationship with Pakistan I doubt if Pakistan would consider any proposal without Kashmir and India would never have that !

You may be right that unification may be create some complication. For friendly relationship both country should be practical about Kashmir.

The only practical solution is the forget about POK and carry on as one nation with what is left of Kashmir and also make it a part of Indian nation instead of giving it a special status ..I know there are many arguments against this but the law is not written in stone !

Unification will invite more and more trouble for the countrymen. Now, we are in a much better position. The government must work towards the betterment of the present condition and nothing extra.
