Abid,
What you said is 100% correct...Changing jobs doesn't mean that you are running behind money...But there are people who just change jobs just for that extra money leaving every other conditions... You should always be careful that money doesn't become our life and control our conscience..Everything should be under our control so as to lead a normal life...

Money is not everything but we should give 80% place to money in your life without money you can not wear cloth can not get food, can not get love of your relative, can not get home, can not travel, and even can not smile fully etc all things is depend upon money.

I dont think that is true.[/quote]
We are not talking about a small group of people.. we are saying it generally..
Generally.. rich people may not be happy..
Not saying that all are not happy.. Some are really successful in their life..
Also you can't say whether a person is happy with his life or not without knowing him personally.
All can pretend to be happy..

Yes ramalingam,
We cannot say that ALL the youth are running behind money for living a stylish life.Just saying generally we may say that.
But in India , there are lot of people who live a very poor life and really struggle to earn money to just keep their life moving on.
The problem is that many of them may be using a bad way to earn money and then it will become
" running behind money "

Siddharth,
Its true that basic needs of every person may be same. But some people will be satisfied with basic needs whereas some other may try to get more.Cannot say that you should stop your desires on acquiring your basic needs. You have to work hard.Life has given you only one chance and you have to utilise it to the maximum..
When you are able to work, work hard and earn good from it and you can use your hard earned money to full fill your needs.
Also, age may not depend on lifestyle very much but aged people may not be liking to follow the life style of youth due to health problems or something else and also youth may not try to live a life of aged because of their desires and ability to live as what they want to be..

When you try to earn more for your future also to stop work earlier, you may be loosing many beautiful moments in your life.
Time and tide waits for no man.If you loose those moments saying that you want to earn more for future, you cannot say that you will get that happiness after retirement.
Also over stress on yourself may lead to several problems.
So,enjoy every moment of your life. Not saying that stop working so hard...
If your aim is high, you should work hard. But don't miss any beautiful moments in your life because you may not be sure that you will get those moments back..

Yes abid,
Job satisfaction is greater than money. You cannot stick on to a job which doesn't give you satisfaction, for a long time.Moving from one job to another job is not a bad thing.
Its just a progress in your career.
If you start as a clerk and retire as a clerk then what is the progress in your career?
You should always try to progress in your life.. Don't be dull or lazy ..
Work hard and be successful...

The importance for money that a person give in his life may depend from person to person.
You cannot say that it is 80 - 20 ..
Fact is that you cannot give any prescribed ratio as it will always depend on person, situation, financial status etc.

"Is youth of India running behind Money?"
Yes, most of the youth in the present generation are running behind money, few of them very badly, even at the cost of national interest and pride. This is purely because of the globalization effect.
We can see many young celebrities running behind money in the name of creative shows, involved in criticizing, insulting, denigrating our own culture, national heroes and ancient personalities. It is very sad that many cultural slaves among the people also becoming crazy of those celebrities and becoming their fans.
For example, take the case of “AIDS” awareness program. Many millions of money is being spent for this globally. Our highly paid celebrities are campaigning to us to use “Branded condoms” produced by multi national companies to get protected from “AIDS”. (This means "Chori karo lekin police se bach ke karo?) They also provoke youth by repeatedly kissing each other publicly on the stage. Almost all the medicines used to treat the “AIDS” are produced by the MNC’s.
But, no one is seriously considering teaching our youth, not to have pre marital sex, abnormal sex, sex with un-known partners, sex with multiple partners, sex with sex professionals etc. No one is seriously teaching the youth, not to use illegal inject able drugs.
We should educate our youth to consider except the legally married spouse, all others as their brothers and sisters. This is not done, because sex business rackets, celebrities who get money out of “AIDS” awareness program, MNC’s who produce condoms and “AIDS” medicines and drugs mafia want money at any cost.
Money is not bad, then why running behind money is considered as bad.
Here, we need to categorize money into two: 1. Hard earned money 2. Easy money.
Running behind hard earned money is not considered as evil practice. Generally it involves healthy competition and practice of socially accepted norms. Economic growth will be steady without major fluctuations.
Running behind easy money is considered as bad and evil practice. Mostly it involves un-healthy competition and very less practice of social security norms. Economic growth will not be steady and major fluctuations are possible. The present economic recession and global warming are the evil results of such practice by many governments, businessmen and individuals across the world.

Yes sridhar,
It is true that the thirst for money is not only for middle or lower class people but its is also for high class people like celebrities.. When money is seen in front of your eyes, then we will not be able to see moral values or our culture...
We should spend our own hardly earned money through nice practises. When money is earned using our own sweat, then we will use money carefully and will not try to waste it.

Thanks Jobin.
The intelligent and competent people create better opportunities for them where ever they work, if appropriate working culture and conditions are prevailing in that organization.
Shifting the loyalties just for the sake of some hike in pay and perks is not advised to the youth, particularly when they are fresh in their profession.
Apart from money, youth should also give importance for the following in their organization.
Competent management, good working environment, easily approachable management, develop in house managers for leadership positions, honest and ethical business, offer training for improving our skills, physically safe place to work even for women round the clock, good recreation facilities, fair and equal treatment of all staff irrespective of their gender, religion, caste and region etc.
A perfect and skilled professional cleverly makes his organization depend on his/her services rather than he/she himself/herself becoming like parasite on that organization. This is not possible for the people who shift their loyalties very often just for the sake of money.
Money should be allowed to flow appropriately in a perfect balancing way into the hands of all hard working people involved in any project. This will create a social harmony.

Sridhar...
You told "The present economic recession and global warming are the evil results of such practice by many governments, businessmen and individuals across the world."
Do you think the economic recession is started in recent days ? How Global warming becomes a result of this ?
All need money. So they try to find out it.Money has value only when it circulates in the market.Demand for a product will increase only if purchases are taken place.Accordingly production will also increase. That is the way of business. It can't be connected to Global warming.

I will not blame the fresh youths for changing their profession frequently because most of them are ill paid and have entered in jobs to stand on their own legs.So when they get higher chances definitely they should grab that opportunity. Then only they can grow. But this jump should not be only for salary hike.
"Before money , even a corpse will open its mouth".All of you might have heard these sayings. Then why should we blame a living man who has a lot of his own needs ?
So try to be adjusted with the earnings you have.Don't look to people above you , always look to those below you.Pay thanks to God for having this much. Then only your life will become fruitful and peaceful.

I think new youth is running behind money that money is not big as i think they running and getting mostly not more than 10000 pm. but those who are politician of our country they are corrupting things and earning in corers. so from his activity new youth suffers to get nice job to earn money.
that may be one reason politicians are not interested to do well for India they are fill his pocket only so we need to blame them not to new youth.
Only Government can make our life better by his decision and planes.

Simply running for about 4 KMS and drinking a glass of MILK to compensate it, is equal to staying at a place and having a glass of WATER.
Government, all over India is spending huge amount from the tax payer’s money for running many schools, colleges and prestigious institutions. Many youth once they get degrees and become competent are just flying away to abroad and serving to other countries and their people. Even the youth, who got benefited from the tax payer’s money in the form of reservations, scholarships, free hostel facilities etc, are also doing the same, by forgetting the responsibility to give back some thing to the society / nation, which has taken care to bring up them.
I heard few excuses from the friends, who are just running behind money. Some say that, their parents have spent lot of money for their education; hence it is necessary for them to earn good.
How many such parents are really enjoying with the earnings of their children?
How many such children do really spend the major share of their earnings for the benefit of their parents?
Any one who can able to earn around 50,000/month in India, need not un-necessarily run behind more money and go abroad.
India requires your talent. Please give back some thing to your nation. Take care of your spouse, children and parents. They need your physical and emotional support apart from your money.
If you want to see INDIA as a developed nation by 2025, please involve in creating your dream opportunities in India itself.

@Siddharth.
I agree with your points related to “making money v/s earning money”.
“Brain drain / human capital flight”.
“Drinking more water than what is required saying that you are very thirsty is harmful and running after money saying that you are hungry for success is also bad”.
Western culture:- Yes we need not blindly follow it in all matters, which may not suit to our nation and society.
@harish
Depending on parents for our basic needs is not at all bad. Trying to earn some money to meet them is not at all considered as “running behind money”.
@Abid
Your advice to youth “know your limits and live accordingly, then you may not have to run after money or easy money” is a valid point.
@Soubagya Das, Jobin etc also have posted valid points.
Overall, this was a very lengthy, live and interesting discussion. Thanks to all who have participated.
