I respect seniors and get useful guidance from them. But I take my own decision and do not follow any blindly.

I do the same as you do, but I will break my own rule at least for once - soon.
I have something else to say. I have no problem in giving respect to my elders and follow their words and sometimes when I differ then I try to put across my own opinion and have a healthy discussion before taking up a final decision. Sometimes elders may not accept my decision but I cannot follow theirs just blindly and so I convey my decision in a clear cut way but definitely not in a harsh way. Now, I have another point to make and that is, it does not always happen that each and every elder is sensible and understanding rather many are quite dominating then I am really sorry to follow their decision just because they are elders. I know, I am making a harsh statement but frankly speaking I am a strong believer of paying respect to a good elderly people and not just for age sake. I won't abuse them but within my heart I will loose all the respect for such an elderly person.

Yes I obey and follow elders and seniors. Many times in difficult situations, I took advise from my seniors and solved the problem in easy way.

Thanks a lot everyone, I will follow the suggestion by one of my seniors older in age although when I do it it will be on my conscience for rest of my life. I am locking this thread now.
One should weigh the Pros and Cons first. Elders may not be always right or youngsters may not be always wrong. In such situations, a dialogue between the elders and youngsters will help. But care should be taken by both not to indulge in dogmatism. If there is truth in what youngsters say, elders should gracefully give way to youngsters opinions. The same thing is true for the youngsters.
