Both husband wife Each morning they started from their home with four pots filled with water and watered the saplings. When the pots emptied out they refilled them from the nearby ponds and wells and continued watering the saplings while covering the whole stretch on feet and returned home doing the same thing.

Great news. It is good to know that we have still people like them who love nature, plant saplings and protect trees like their children. Only people who are aware of the existence of the same life principle in every being can do it.

A lot has to be done in the present educational system. Times are changing. Along with the changing times, it is mandatory to change the way of teaching, while utilizing the technological aspects. This is what i have to say.

Well It is really interesting to see all the different points of view and all are justified In their own way. However, I would not like to believe that everything sbout the education system Is wrong. Constant efforts are being made for improvement and we have come a long way ..but yes we have a long way to go as well. When I was a student, I remember most of our teachers used to use the lecture method, explain a topic ,give some home work and leave . It was for us to understand, memorise and write. Now It is not so. Most schools ( i have taught In many parts of the country) are child centric, learning Is activity based where you do and learn , audio visual aids are used , field trips are taken. So far as the schools In remote area Is concerned, earlier there was no education, now at least there Is an attempt to get everyone literate..we just need to convince the patents snd God willing we will succeed soon .

I once met a Sardarji in a very remote part of the world running a corner shop successfully , was very popular with the locals and he had this to say - Throw us Indians to any part of the world and we will take over from there and not only make a living, make a success of it as well...The fellow had no education to speak of and had run away from his home town as an illegal worker on a passenger ship, according to his own admission. So, we human beings have intelligence and the ability to look for every option that can be turned to our advantage !

I agree with you. It is the maturity of Hindus that paved way to tolerance.

But the question is our educational institutions both government and private are successful in making its pupils think ? Or they making them Robots??
The current education system in fact is taking away the children's ability to think. It is turning children into competitive robots only fit for doing prescribed jobs.
The most conspicuously missing aspect in the current education system is lack of application. Today's students learn 2 multiplied by 2 is equal to 4. Ask them to apply this knowledge to the real life. They cut a blank face. This is how pathetic the education system is

True...in fact we offer all kinds of praises and rewards to those who depict our Hindu gods and goddesses in very vulgar form.

I seriously feel that for the targetted classes, the current system of education is totally wrong. actually it is wrong for everyone not just them, but many of us stilll can afford to keep our children in the education system until they cross their 20s. But children from poorer classes cannot afford that, their parents need some quick fixes, and hence the dropouts are more prevalent because the system does not work. There needs to be designed a totally different system where the children can be taught basic skills of reading adn writing along with vocational trades. Once they start earning in those respective trades, it is up to them if they wish to pursue the prevalent education for higher degrees or not. But teach them something first wherein they can put it to use to earn money for their family.

It is definitely adding to existing numbers but these are half-measures.If one undertakes the noble goal of feeding the hungry and the famished,it is as much important to bring them to the plate as it is to ensure a nourishing, wholesome meal.Taking a patient to a doctor is just half the job, proper diagnosis and treatment form the redeeming part of it.We either educate them or not do so at all.In the process a lot of time, resources are wasted on either side with no perceptible gains!

Quality of education deteriorates certainly. Because, recently a survey was conducted on the conditions in the Government schools in AP
Some of the reasons for the poor quality include absence of around 25 percent of teachers everyday. There are schools without teachers. There are schools without buildings. And there are no students but the teachers are paid regularly. Under these pathetic conditions, education in government schools are bound to take a big blow.
