according to news reports coming in it is partially successful..Places like Khammam , Vizag , Bellary and other places in Karnataka too are hit by the Bandh .But Tamil Nadu seems to be having very little impact ..

That's what I said. The success or failure of Bandh depends on the political affiliations in a particular state. Until now in AP Bandh has no effect at all.

Most teachers and educationists are against this policy and are for revoking it..There may be further developments after reports have been submitted on the 3rd by various states and reviewed by the concerned ministers

Even if people think of God if the pollution in sea and River waters is not arrested no God can help us. It's very essential to stop immersion of Ganesh images in rivers and oceans with synthetic material which are not Bio degradable.

In Congress led states there is open support for Bandh like here in Karnataka others will definitely not support since it serves no purpose because the transport Bandh is against the reduced petrol and diesel prices ...The trade unions are being misled and are also getting support from opposition!

This is indeed good news. we need save ocean from pollution. I remember as story on immersion of Lord Ganesha. Once a shp was sinking. The passengers remembered their god/ prophet and were saved- Christians by Christ, Muslims by prophet Mohammad, Sikhs by Guru Nanak. The Hindus were still scary. They were calling Rama, Krishna, Sai Baba, Ma Vaishno and so on. Then one person suggested that all should remember only one god. Soo they decidsed to call Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha appeared and began moving the ship up and down thereby drowning the ship. The devotees cried- O Lord, please save us. You are instead drowning us. Then Ganesh retorted- do you not drown me every year in sea? why should I spare you?

The effect of bandh is only in some metro cities like Delhi. In my town the transport is smooth, and most of the schools and colleges are open, only a few are closed. But there is traffic on roads as usual.

No doubt, there is official patronage. Yet it doesn not appear that this can be accepte as sports. It depends more on people rather than state patronage. People still favor cricket as sport and gym as exercise.

I go often to villages where my relatives are living. Their main profession is agriculture. Because they wake up early in the morning they hold long sticks with a bell on one side. Due to this sound i too wake up and go to the fields along with them. There I used to share their meals which are in more number of times, I came to know the significance of eating more meals in small quantities all the day. Till evening they remain as fresh as they were in the morning when they left home.

I have also narrated my personal experience. In fact, there are no industrial are commercial units on my way to office. The transport system is not affected. The industrial areas are in Nunhai and Sikandara- on the national High way between Delhi and Kanpur. No doubt, the industrial areas must be affected. I shall get the news in afternoon daily papers. The banks/ insurance located in Sanjay Place are affected, which I personally noticed.

Slowly Bandh is spreading to many places according to news reports ...as for the validity of this Bandh it is unclear since it seems to be a way of stopping any development in the country as usual !

True in certain places. But not in all the places. Here in Vizag and neighboring districts The Bandh is partially successful. I'm sure, depending on a particular channel's affiliation to the Ruling party or otherwise, the news wears different colors. But what I said about Vizag is my own personal observation. Additionally I heard that there are internal conflicts in the Trade unions and most of them are participating unwillingly.
