As far as Usha's topic is concerned, I think the safest bet would be English language and not Hindi as English is far more widely spoken and understood in the southern and I think, Northeastern states.   Kalyani both English and Hindi have been accepted as Official language...I give the paragraph which throws some light on the subject ! t the Constituent Assembly while discussing the Language Formula noticed the recommendation of the Sub-Committee on Fundamental Rights, which recommended the formula as per which, “Hindustani, written either in Devanagari or the Persian script at the option of the citizen, shall, as the national language, be the first official language of the Union. English shall be the second official language for such period as the Union may, by law, determine.” However, in the constitution, Hindi was declared as an official language and not a national language. The court in its order said Part XVII of the Constitution deals with Official Language. Under Article 343, official language of the Union has been prescribed, which includes Hindi in Devanagari script and English. The link I have already given in my post earlier ..

Those who give birth, give you life. Those who take care of you, give you a living. What is the use of life without a living? If your parents give you birth and abandon you, then they are just human machines, not parents. Those who take care of you and give you a heart full of love are your real parents. Love is the language that makes the difference.

True. Another aspect is that a National Language should unite the country. Hindi doesn't have that quality. Because this side of Vindhya doesn't use Hindi and the mostly used languages are Dravidian languages.

Gulshan and India Today group may be Vijay's props but I stick to what I say - The term OROP may have been used later but for all practical purposes it was Indira Gandhi who was at the center of the controversy .. http://www.catchnews.com/national-news/what-makes-indira-gandhi-the-mother-of-orop-controversy-1441540775.html

On 14 sep 1949 Hindi was declared as official language of India. Apart from Hindi, English was also recognized as official language of India but in 1950 it was declared to put an end to use of English after 15 years of the formation of the constitution (by 26th Jan 1965).   http://www.mapsofindia.com/on-this-day/14th-september-1949-hindi-is-adopted-as-the-official-language-of-the-union-of-india

Official language is for the purpose of official use in government offices not spoken language , if that was the case Hindi will have to be learnt by all across India which is not so now..It is learnt as a 3rd language

But the question is if any language is chosen as a National language as per you how and on what basis you have chosen and also acts as a Unifying language. Because a National  language is supposed to unite the people.

True....There are too many factors that contributes towards a perfect or disastrous relationship between parents and children. I guess, it is all a big learning process for both parents and children and the parents who can quickly adapt and improvise as the situation demands only can be successful with their children. I don't know if I am right because I am yet to reach that stage but I don't think sticking to set rules of parenting would work when dealing with teenagers. Yes Kalayani, I have seen some so called perfect parent children relationship going sour as children go older and parents being unable to come to terms with the new independent teenagers.Unless parents become more broad minded in their thinking rather than remain rigid and have a stuck in the mud attitude , there is bound to be trouble..

A bhogi is one who enjoys consumption irrespective of  money power. A bhogi who seeks ways to make money cannot have peace of mind even if he practices yoga because there is no satisfaction level in money making.

But sticking to wrong facts is not proper even when right facts are presented. Patronising is good only to a very limited extent.
