A thorn can remove a thorn but what about the several other thorns coming in the way?
Also if a thorn removes the other, only one is left. A Single palm cannot clap similarly, with single thorn there is no point of peace and war. Its over basically , one thorn ends and other rules.

You need not follow the whole list. Start with an easiest task, which you are sure of accomplishing. Success in the very first instance boosts your morale This initial success will rejuvenate you. With this new found confidence, move on to the next tip. At the end of the day, you yourself will be astonished to see your progress.

The thread initiator had written that Indira Gandhi had scrapped the OROP in 1973. @Gulshan says it was because of third pay commission abolishing the then prevailing system of pension calculation that the need for OROP arose in 1973. I tend to agree with Gulshanji's views as it is the correct position. I feel the references provided by @Rambabu and @Usha are not correct for which they are in no way responsible. Web based information portals are many times not reliable as they are not authenticated. My reason for pointing it out is to set the record straight as otherwise wrong information goes through. There was no OROP in 1973 and thus it could not have been scrapped.
Is there any basis for your info that there was no OROP in 1973?
I an a retired Defence employee. I was involved in pay fixation of 1973 pay commission report. Up to 1973, the army soldiers did not have any graded pay scales. Their pay was fixed according to chart showing pay on basis of lenghth of service and rank. This ensured that even if some body is promoted late, he would get the same pay as another promoted earlier but having same length of service. Similarly pension was fixed. The third c pay commission introduced pay scales. The pension is based on average emoluments in the last ten months. The pay commissions revise pay and pension in such a way that new comers gain more. So the old ones are relative losers. It is hence the system at fault and no individual including Indira Gandhi. It is not possible to give link as traditionally, all information about defence even pay scales are considered secret and the literature/ books are not available in market unlike civil books.

Apart from this I would like to add on that in the mythology of India both the epics ramayan and Mahabharat had wars but it is notable that first the heroes both Shri Ram ( and army) and Shri krishan alobg with Arjun and Family demanded peaceful diplomatic agreement firstly and war was secondary. In the case if the other party wants destruction, it is their lack of knowledge or rather-
" Vinashkaale vipreet budhi".
However, war leads to destruction only. In the case of mahabharat only a handful of people were alive after the 13 day war who were of a same team, so peace was derermined. In the Ramayan also, Ravan and his supporters died and Shri Ram had been always peaceful, if he was not have been so, he would have never accepted the exile.
Basically war became a need of situation not a source of peace. It was about ending evils and peace was never a criteria of requirements.

It all depends on the other side of the party. If the other party provokes with an intention of destabilizing the country, do you think we should the song of Peace. A thorn should be used to remove a thorn.

War can never lead to peace. Destruction means demolishing so if the party is demolished how cqn we expect any peace. If people think that war can lead to soft bilateral relations then, I feel that if we destruct and deteriotes one's power, the other people who are in favour of that particular party would rise and would lead to both-sided destruction instead of peace. Killing or destructing is just hazardous and self-annihiliating. If peace is required, diplomatic relations should promote mutual benefit. Results of better mutual benefits have always been fruitful and will remain so forever. At one side, we discourage terrorisms and civil wars because they are destructive and demolishes peace then, howcome we are promoting destruction and wars for peace.

Mere dreaming yields nothing however, to make them a reality one has to grab every opportunity from the real world. Therefore, it is well said by the former President of India Dr. Kalam-
"Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep."
