But Kalyani , while I appreciate your views of a young generation , it is not getting reflected in matrimonial advts. where no one says they want a black girl but everyone wants a fair bride. Perhaps more time is needed,

Prayer takes different meaning for different situations. It is a plea when one is desperate, it is a thanksgiving when one achieves, it is hope when one is trying, it is a bargain when one is uncertain, it is a contract when one is taking a risk and it is a homecoming when one's time has come.

@Vijay and Rambabu, we are all in the 21st century now and have come along way since racism was a norm. Like Rambabu has mentioned, Pele was lovingly called "Black Pearl" both because he was black and he outshone others in his achievements. There are many examples, to quote the most common one, we repeat jokes on sardarji left and right without stopping to think what a sardar may feel about it, that too is then an example of racism. But such stereotypes of whites and blacks are not really important or relevant today, at least for us young people, they hardly matter. My complexion is dusky and if someone calls dark or brown, I care a damn (pardon my language) I no longer if I am fair or dark, neither do young [people. So kindly stop making such comments and stop bickering like 2nd grade children!! Pardon me again, for that is how my son and his friends too behave!

I was going through some old film magazine and one of the top actress of the sixties was asked, who was the most beautiful woman in the film Industry and after pondering over she replied , it was Lata Mangeshkar because when Lata sings you can only imagine a very beautiful woman singing and you feel that she is as perfect and beautiful looking as the voice she sings in..

Philophically, it's believed that Attachments are the reasons for lack of peace of mind. The day when you detach yourself from attachments, you can proudly say that, " I have Peace of Mind."

Kalyani Nandurkar replied to the topic Why Pink for girls and Blue for boys?.
More than any psychological reasons it was actually the other way around when pink was accepted for boys and blue was for girls, but was not accepted by manufacturers and retailers and they started promoting the accepted 'pink-for-girls' and 'blue-for-boys' norms, more for commercial reasons. But somehow they are now stuck as gender stereotypes.
However, now in the 21st century there is no need for us to stick the stereotypes as now men are now considered more cool when they appear as metrosexual men, men who take care of babies, cook for the family, help their wives etc. there are now more and more wide ranges of clothing for men where pink too is a dominant color. So we can help remove such gender stereotypes by allowing our children and encouraging them to choose colors according to their own likes and not just letting them stick to only such gender-biased hues.

A prayer can be something very simple as said by an innocent child or something with very deep and profound meaning. It is really hard to say what exactly it is, but it means a lot to many people. I personally cannot really express what it means for me but I found a lovely poem called "A Wing and a Prayer" of which two stanzas I liked the best:
Under the wing of the angel, we feel protected
Through powers to God, we feel connected
Peace is said to be offered on the wings of a dove,
Prayers can bring peace along with hope, faith and love.
Under the wing of an angel, we feel protected Through prayers to God, we feel connected.
Peace is said to be offered on the wings of a dove Prayers can bring peace along with hope, faith, and love.
