Shampa Sadhya replied to the topic Are you too lazy to wake up for your Morning Walk ?.
@sofs My day starts at around five in the morning and it goes on and on. That's not a problem but the schedule to go for a morning walk itself is a big problem for me. Going out only for walking does not give me high though I am aware of its benefits.

Exactly. It's a matter of choice. One is free to select a way according to their convenience.

If we cannot change a situation which is not in our control, better for us to join the circus. No one can shut off opinions. they express theirs and we ours.

Very true, it is just not possible to devote one hour in the morning when it is the busiest time of the day except may be during weekends...So, I walk in the evenings which is the same as walking in the mornings since the health benefits one gets is the same without any stress that one has in the morning !
So True. I love my evening walks though I would much prefer it in the cool of the morning. The health benefits are the same. Its a choice one makes.. if a choice is made for the better its good enough for me.

Thanks for the suggestion, I do just that even without it. Our news channels must be like a circus to the world around too. No one can shut off opinions.

rambabu answered the question Do you find shopping a relaxing activity ?.
I go for shopping only when the necessity arises. I don't even go to malls, when all my necessities are available just in my neighbor hood. In my place where I live, most of the things including ready made garments and other tings are available in smaller shops.

That's the Point. TV channels are giving what the people want. Nothing more. Nothing less. Hence choice is yours. If you don't like switch off. I do the same whenever such Debates are aired.

Children by nature are enthusiastic. . It's here parents should use the trait of " Enthusiasm." And find out what their kid's are showing more enthusiasm. This is possible only if one of the parents are not employed..

My honest opinion.. I hate it they are too loud and badly behaved to be on national television. However, its seems viewers like loud, argumentative people. They are they everywhere, in the parliament, on TV, on the streets, at the work place, on forum discussions practically everywhere.
Sometimes it doesn't feel like news hour anymore , but like a circus.

Most importantly parents have to be there to guide their children. I see almost every kid playing with playstations etc .I have a psychiatrist friend who says depression Is so common In children nowadays, working parents unable to provide time so out of guilty consciousness they buy their children whatever they ask for not realising that they complicating matters. Many other simply give It because every other child has it. One needs to be firm with children regarding certain Issues..giving In to their every whim doesn't make you agood parent. Cultivating hobbies Is a good way to divert their interests..playing some instrument Is a good option.

Providing stuff for children alone is not love, being able to spend time with them , engaging them in activities which promote physical, emotional and mental growth is important. However, the easiest thing for working parents to do these days is give stuff.. this only helps getting children focused on things that aren't really the best for them.

rambabu replied to the topic Should the 'No detention policy' be scrapped?.
Earlier, Counseling sessions used to be held in the Parent - Teacher meets. The teachers used to bring forth the student's strong points and weak points to the parents. Thus such meets used to yield good results . Parents used to follow what the teachers said and in the school, Teachers used to keep an eye on the backward student's progress.
Now the scenario is different. Parents look for the degrees their children pile up. And the teachers are after grabbing as many students as possible in to their institutions. On the whole the whole education system has become a farce.

No detention policy has got no meaning when due to it a huge gap in the standard of the students gets created. By the way, if the government wants to control the number of drop outs then they must arrange counselling sessions in the school in regular basis. Suppose this policy gets scrapped and the students who do not get promotion leave the school but at that very moment counselling will not be beneficial. It has to start quite early and make the students understand the value of education. Loss of one year is not that vital but to remain uneducated matters the most and that has to be taught to the children through motivational sessions. With light-hearted but meaningful lectures or through activity sessions, it must be instilled in the students that leaving school will solve no purpose but if they attend school and be attentive then life will change for the better. Without this and continuing with no detention policy will not take the nation forward but backward.

The idea is to divert the attention of the children. Children will be drawn towards things which interest them. It's up to the parents to find out what interests their children like.

As I said in my previous post, TV channels mostly show what people are fond of. If these channels broadcast useful issues like education, health etc, nobody will see . Channels are business oriented. For this reason, they will not hesitate to do anything.

Many Fan clubs are there in AP and Tamil Nadu. They hold meetings in which they discuss at length about their favorite celebrities' dresses, food habits and many more. It's nothing but craziness which is much prevalent in youth. Earlier these fan clubs used to do some good jobs like distributing food and clothes for the poor. They also used to go to Hospitals and distribute fruits to the patients.

I think these news shops (private T.V. channels) show only those controversial shows which are highly demanded in the market (by viewers). Other important issues kept aside and these baseless debates goes on without any conclusion.
