Earlier, either you or  somebody else gave a link a beautiful link that established the fact that there are healthy foods in the junk foods which are wrongly believed to be hazardous to  health Any how, I want to reiterate that all junk foods are not hazardous to health.

A news to me that Pakistan is cleaner than India. Hitherto I was under the impression that it's the dirtiest country like its rulers.   As usual, Pakistan has some of the cleanest and at the same time some very dirty places. I would like to mention that hilly areas being lesser populated and having lesser business opportunities are always cleaner than plains. The Swat Valley in Khaibar area is certainly a beautiful place for the river and lakes.      Apparently even the cities are cleaner, for one they have no defecation in the open anywhere and the infrastructure at least in the larger cities are good and well maintained .

Initially when he started his debates he was a novelty because he used to put all the politicians in their place LOL...it was too funny to watch them being chastised by him ...But his problem is that he never lets anyone speak and express their views right or wrong ! It is very unfair to them because they take the trouble to come and wait endlessly just to get a word in, that is if they are lucky ! Of course a few of the regulars beat him at his own game at times !

Why these channels focus on other issues?   If you see the ratings Times Now and Arnab's debate gets the maximum TRPs ,so how can we blame the TV channels ? It takes two hands to clap. Times have changed and everything around us is loud these days, celebrations ate loud, festivities are loud, films are loud , music is loud , so why not TV debates ..it goes with the society's demands. I do watch sometimes but when it gets repetetive and when everyone starts  talking at the same time I change channels...But I do watch ! No need to blame TV channels. They air such monotonous shows because there are takers.

Morning walk or jogging whatever it may be, it's not for proving someone else. It's for proving to yourself that you can stand to the rigors of that particular exercise. It gives not only satisfaction but self confidence.

Parents want the best for their children or so It seems based on the Interactions I've had with people from different places. If the school results have been good they aimto put their children there sbject to clearing  stiff competition to get into these schools eith admission tests and so on...not talking of the new age scools but the old good schools do not really charge that high either...I have myself studied In Kendriya Vidyalayas , central govt schools, throughout and have taught on adhoc basis at times . I have found these schools to be doing really well in places where the teaching staff is good. In fact even now, the KVs are producing great results , their curriculum Includes NCERT books which cover the syllabus for competitive exams. So, cant really generalize...there is a side which raises concern but the entire education system can not be held at fault     There are certain rules and regulations that are applicable while enroling students into Kendriya Vidyalaya since it is meant for central government employees children or for those with transferable jobs etc .So, even though it is really good and well run, all through India majority of the people cannot send their children there even if they want to .So the only option would be to send them to expensive private schools. If we had better state run schools, this difference between the state run and private schools would decrease and even middle class people would look readily at that option Coming back to the topic I feel that as of now India needs a system that needs uphaul right from the ground levels before experimenting with the education itself thereby diluting the quality   Got your point. Was just trying to emphasize that govt can provide reasonably good infrastructure and education if they really want to..KVs are examples but their again it depends on the teachers because in many places teachers take it easy knowing it is govt job and unless they go terribly wrong no one can take it away from them .I also do agree that state run schools have a long way to go and govt needs to pay more attention there.   What you say is very true ! It is even worse in state run schools, they take it really really easy because noone really bothers. My own school which is in a village is now closed for 4 days because the hall is being used by the Village headman for Ganpathy festival .It is the politicians and their cronies literally running the education system !

The silly part is all channels pounce on the same subject and we switch over to CNN or BBC. Arnab  get on my nerves to say the least with his attitude.

One who can train his brain like a master can make the brain work to his diktats. Otherwise you become a slave in the control of the Brain.

Though not all, there are some incidents of teacher beating a kid, which proved to be genuine by The child Rights activists.

It used to help me a lot from the pressures of work.  I could do that for hours together if given a chance , frankly, there is no end to to it, you can jump from one imagination to the other and the best way to tune your brain is to try and get back in the same order as you started ! Am I making sense Sofs?? Perfect sense. It takes a few seconds to calm you down when you train your mind. I agree .. when you focus it properly you can do it for hours. Initially of course  its good tom have some guidance on audio or in person.  Yes I agree..Our mind is so very complex and if trained can do so much for us !

Sofs wrote: Kalyani Nandurkar wrote: The values of respecting elders is fast disappearing. It is actually the attitude of parents that seeps down to the  children. Parents now shell out large sums of amounts as fees to school and think that the fact that they shell out so much money is an obligation to the teachers. I agree that they shell out a packet demanding services from the school for that is fine. But disrespect of teachers should not arise from that.  Recently my friend a teacher told me that her colleague was threatened by a student that he would take her to the press for scolding him.  Does the Media have a role to play in this sorry state of affairs?   Kids are smart these days. The ban on corporal punishment is very well known to them. Of course in genuine cases, it is more than a necessity and I strongly condemn beating up kids.. but these days even if there's a small incident of scolding..they threaten of 'dire consequences' .The media will listen and believe false stories of violence against students even before investigations have started.Parents are definitely responsible for this kind of disrespect and behavior.. the fact that teachers want the best for all children is advocated by parents these days..Most of the time they visit schools is with some complaint or the other which in most cases is a false one.
