usha manohar replied to the topic Interlinking of the Rivers.
It is a good initiative taken by Chandra Babu Naidu which will be beneficial for agriculturists of the present and future generations. There is one called Yettina hole project that has been in the planning stages since almost a decade here in Karnataka in the western Ghats. Linking of Netravathi river which takes its birth in the western Ghats and flows down to South Kanara district and joins Arabian Sea at Mangalore. But there is stiff opposition to this project by almost everyone in the district .The reason being that , they plan to build a series of canals on the top of the ghats and divert the water to other areas , which means after monsoons, there will not be hardly any water flowing down and Netravati is the bloodline for the entire district of South Kanara...I feel that they need to consider all the factors before jumping in for such schemes which should benefit all ,not make matters worse for people !

I agree, the meaning also lies in how it gets assimilated y the person, right ? Some go just by what is written but a more intelligent person might try to connect it to different things in life.. Even a small piece of information that may seem unimportant to others would be used to its maximum advantage by an intelligent person , or is that being street smart ?

There are two Ps - Phd ,Peon and I would tragicomically
add one more - Pathetic! It is pathetic for the
poor guy and the system which produced him.
I am aghast at it.Of all things his PhD did not

Addition of " Pathetic" spoke the real Pathetic situation prevailing in education system.

I know a woman with three masters and doctorate in computers serving as professor in a private college taking a job of a teacher in middle school just because she thought government job was much secured, pension and other benefits attached with it. Indians consider a government job is the real job and can pay lots of money for getting the same.

To be frank, that was too complicated for me to understand in totality but what I could make out of it was that well-read and intelligence have no direct relations. But as usual I am open to correction if found totally unintelligent in this case.

Intelligence is the use of information in a way that better results can be produced. So a well read person will get only information, but an intelligent person can well use this information gained.
