@Kalyani The case you have cited is a rare tale of exemplary courage and fortitude on the part of the couple which might inspire victims of these grim tragedies. After all all filial relationships stand at an altogether different planes. No amount of rationalizing does penetrate the blind spots of profound love and well being that parents harbor in them.I know how difficult it is to develop such a sense of detach yet there lies the apology of a solution as some problems are not humanly solvable!

The state is hit by drought and farmers have been committing suicide in droves in the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh , while the Chief Minister instead of looking into these pressing matters is busy spending tax payers money on securing himself by spending 5.5 crores on a bus for himself and his comfort ...A farmer has now committed suicide and before taking his life he has written a letter where he has questioned Chandra Babu Naidu about his misplaced priorities...How insensitive and selfish can our politicians get ? They dont seem to care about the people who have voted them to power ! He said about the incident that enough has been done for farmers and his security too is important !!!! The link provided below, contains the copy of the letter written by the poor farmer  http://www.ibnlive.com/news/politics/help-farmers-dont-spend-money-on-your-luxury-bus-farmer-tells-andhra-cm-before-committing-suicide-1109894.html https://www.saddahaq.com/ap-farmer-before-commiting-suicide-writes-to-cm-criticizing-govts-priority

@Usha, I agree, it takes an extremely rare kind of courage to do what the Phalnikar couple did on losing their son, not many of us could do that when thrown in such situation. @Lopamudra, yes it is quite painful to be separated from the children, especially if there is only one and the horizons have broadened quite extensively for the children. In earlier days, it was just some other city or town either in the same state or somewhere else but within the country. Now it is totally some other corner of the earth for the children to move out to. So it has become more painful than ever before, yet knowing they are doing good and are happy brings some satisfaction to the parents.

I agree that regional films are as good or actually even better than Hindi films ...It is good to see a Marathi film being selected for Oscars entry level. Let us hope it wins in the final rounds too...

It's essential for the parents to develop the quality of equanimity. Pleasure and pain live side by side. Wisdom lies in accepting both with open hands.

@Usha That was the larger and exact point I was driving at and you have got it so well by summing it up aptly! Thanks a lot Chinmoy.. Broadly speaking while well read people are intelligent or even brilliant, not all of them may be street smart or possess common sense. This is something we come across often with regard to scholars and scientists who fail to understand the value of inter personal relationships and other such issues. We have a family friend the name I would not like to disclose ,suffice to say he is a well known personality hailing from our part.He is brilliant, can speak on every subject possible but when it is a question of maintaining his relationships he is a total failure- bad vibes with siblings, two failed marriages, and two failed relationships,no rapport with his children ! Makes one think whether too much of intelligence take its toll on a person ?

Very true. Honest and sincere movie makers give a shape to their beliefs and thoughts. Many Bengali movies made by legends like Ritwick Ghatak never succeeded at the Box office. What all they earned is acclaim, appreciation. In this process, these film makers never care for Box office hits.
