With all the ways you are following, ill effects of constant sitting will not touch you. But those who have to sit in offices or in the home they are likely to become the victims of obesity. Too much sitting also seems to increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and cancer.
During office hours one can walk in the premises of the office. Otherwise one can walk during lunch hour. If it is in the office every half an hour one can get away and to little stretching in the room itself.
I am also doing like Gulshan ji. I am running a shop for 12 years. There I spend 8 to 9 hours in sitting postures. I am also feeling ill effect of this habit. My shop is much small so I can't walk in it with the help of walker. I have problem of back pain, urine problem, leg ache problem. So it is suggestion to all not sit more than one hour. At least wake up to drink water.

I have to work on computer and it necessitates for sitting before the computer for long hours. But I always remember to sit before the computer for hours together leads to lot of health hazards like obesity. So after every one hour a get up and walk in my long corridor for about 5 minutes. some times i use stair case instead of using lift for going to the basement of my flat.. This also gives me a break. This way, one has to change the position as often as possible to escape from the ill effects of sedentary life.

@kalyani, this is an open forum, everyone welcome here and can share their views freely. Nobody can command anyone here, it simply do not work in an open environment.
@chinmoy, sorry but I have to disagree. people who are supposed to do keep the discipline are already doing their job at their best, imho. At the end, this is the forum run by the community for themselves. If there are some deviations, I won't worry as there is no perfect thing in the world in any field.
@rambabu, any incidents reported will be taken care with due diligence. I don't worry about 100 wrong people gets benefit but I do worry if 1 innocent paid the price for no wrong doing.
Others, thanks for posting your views. At present there would be no change in any status. We will continue to take feedback from you guys.
I am breaking a rule here by posting twice consecutively in a row here but it is only now I read your response here carefully and have tried to discern exactly what you mean. I cannot help but disagree with you that if we know that there are a people doing wrong here then there is no way that can allow them to discontinue. Until now and hereon forth too, I am sure that you will allow me and other moderators the liberty of taking action against the concerned people here and will not question us if we have to delete threads or posts. But still, I wish you would be more forthcoming with your point of view. As far as one innocent person paying the price is concerned, I am seriously disturbed by your thoughts on this, too many have already paid the price and while this is an independent forum and people may come and go as they please, it does not really do us any good to lose a few good ones merely for the purpose of stoking the ego of a single person.

Long sitting hours is not beneficial but how do we control it. In office we need to sit and work even at home while watching television or working on computer requires sitting so how to control the damage. Here is the link for a way out:
http://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2015/10/06/446295001/your-chair-is-killing-you-here-s-what-you-need-to-do-to-stop-it
I agree that our lifestyle has become very sedentary unlike what it used to be ! Unless we make a conscious attempt to keep ourselves active, chances are that we end up becoming lazy and lethargic. As adults we have to be all the more careful to remain active because of health reasons, also inculcate an active lifestyle in our children,I see many children go home and get busy either with their home work or rush to the tuition classes or else sit in front of the TV or computer depending on the age.Unless a set routine is formed they may turn out to be the same as adults ! I find the whole lifestyle today very unhealthy !

Why should I name the point hunter ? Moderator who attended to my complaint is here. Let him say. I'm just an ordinary member here.
You are an ordinary member but yet regarded as prominent and senior. It is okay to write more posts but with the rider that these should add some new viewpoint not already given. Also there should be no post just to express agreement with some other member. If you agree with some one, just give 'thank you' of 'like' without writing anything. This is more a matter of self discipline. It is not pleasant that moderators interfere every now and then.

In civilized society, it is preferred that the cu;prits be let free rather than punishing an innocent. Macvweixck's view need be taken in this context. It is correct to say that our site is a cooperative one that needs self discipline. The rules cannot be very rigid. It is also correct that nothing ids perfect in the world. There are also some norms for regulation of forum. Most members are following these. some times, a few members indulge in some irregularities and gain. But ultimately they either quit or follow the rules in spirit. So let us perform on site to our best. We need not be very senitive on some occasional irregularities. Also the administration is not so lenient. In appropriate cases, some members have been debarred also. But this cannot be a rule. Such drastic measure is very rare.
