This is not a new incident. When Lalau lost his chief minister post of Bihar, he recruited his wife Rabri Devi for election even if she had no prior experience in politics. He played his role very well to make his wife the chief minister of the state. Now Lalu is following the footsteps of Nehru family. But in Nehru's family, all of them were well educated. But Lalu is bringing his illiterate wife and uneducated children to run the government.

Lalu continuing his strategy of promoting his family members in politics wants to send his wife Rabri Devi and Daughter Misa Bharti in Rajya Sabha. He already had set his sons in the recent Vidhan sabha election.

In the return of Lalu BJP had a role to play though an unintended one and they must introspect. While it is true liqour and cash are still used but its effects have surely gone down. Voters of all classes are much more aware today and are not easily swayed. Remember how DMK distributed free TV's and the voters gladly accepted them and voted almost enmasse for AIDMK in the last assembly elections in Tamilnadu.

Many languages can be learned even if one does not know one's mother tongue. The two have no corelation. Not knowing mother tongue does not dilute one's love for their culture. Yes knowing mother tongue is good but can not be used as a brownie scoring point over someone who does not know it.

In order to get the dream politicians the society itself has to first cleanse itself and become a far more responsible society than it is today. Politicians emerge from the same society. Sitting in judgement , when the soil is contaminated and the crop is not good is skirting the issue and trying to appear holier than thou. As you sow so you shall reap, as the quality society so shall be the quality of politicians.
