As I said earlier, I witnessed the mind boggling spectacle. Everything related with India and it's culture was displayed in a heart rending way. It's not all, the delegates, who represented other countries like Thailand, too displayed, their Cultural activities. On the whole, I enjoyed every bit of the event.

Jincy Aby liked the topic Reservations on Caste.
Reservations for jobs and education is perpetuated for ever by the politicians. The sad part is they are based on caste, which is the anchor around the neck of the Indian state. The Indian constitution as famed by Dr. Ambedkar had initially envisaged reservation only for 15 years , but they have been extended, time and again by the politicians for who this is a vote bank.
Caste based reservations are harmful as they do away with meritocracy and sub standard persons do get into vital sectors. this in the long run will harm india.

Jincy Aby replied to the topic Is this women empowerment? .
We cannot say that woman empowerment is a mirage. Their condition is far better than earlier. Most of the women of today is educated and so they know very well what is right and what is wrong. The new generation ladies are very smart and they are ready to criticize others if there is any unnecessary restriction charges upon them. So I can say confidently that woman empowerment is going to be a reality. But it will take time.

rambabu replied to the topic Miracle in Siachen Glacier.
Working in such extreme weather conditions in the Siachen Glaciers is really a challenging job for Our sentinels, who work day in day out to keep the country Safe and Secure. Despite all the hardships, A Soldier accepts them with a smile and majestically say, " they are a part of their duty.

Jincy Aby replied to the topic Miracle in Siachen Glacier.
Siachen glacier took the life of more than 800 soldiers of Indian army. Most of them died because of the extreme weather condition in this region. The glacier is located in the disputed Kashmir region and is claimed by India and Pakistan. It is the highest battle ground on earth where India and Pakistan fought intermittently since 1984.

This is a fact that the vast majority of religions still treat women as inferior human beings. We can see the systematic devaluation of women everywhere in religions. No religion is ready to appoint women in positions of authority. They give least importance to ladies. According to religious point of view, women are expected to be obedient and submissive to men.
Very true, it is not just religion, even our society is male dominated and laws were and are being made to please the male population. It is only now that some relevance is given to the womenfolk although in very small measures . We have a long way to go in our country to get equality like in western countries.
Yes, you are right, women are neglected everywhere in the society. We can see that in some families, women do not have freedom to have their breakfast or dinner with other family members. Time is up to stop such practices from our society.
