Barring a couple of ladies I am not familiar with other actresses on the list, however I can add a few old actresses who were not Indian..
First would be the great Madhubala , who was from Afghanistan and Nadira , who was a Jewess from Israel and several who were from mixed parentage..
You learn something everyday...I've covered the movie industry for years, but I never thought of Madhubala as Afghan. i remember an old illustrated weekly article mentioning that she began her career in Chennai. I couldn't find that on Wiki though. Anyway I thought of her as native Indian.

Peace is not a thing that can be achieved in these days of turbulence easily. It has to be achieved. Remember if you want Peace, you should be prepared for a war. For this single reason a Nation should strengthen itself with the required Material like Arms and ammunition.. Unless there is Peace around you, nothing can be achieved.

As I said earlier, I witnessed the mind boggling spectacle. Everything related with India and it's culture was displayed in a heart rending way. It's not all, the delegates, who represented other countries like Thailand, too displayed, their Cultural activities. On the whole, I enjoyed every bit of the event.
While the display is pretty cool, I have to say I'm very relieved that there is going to be a scaling down in the forces to make it more compact. All that show of military might seems like ancient tribes posturing (like the Maori warcry they use during rugby games), while inside they're each scared of the other side.
With drones etc, hopefully the human loss will be diminished (although its so detached you can't see when innocents are getting killed) and eventually got rid off, except by the pugilistic ones among us. Who don't know how else to channel their energy. It's easy to get all nationalistic about guarding borders when its someone else's brother or father who is getting killed. I've briefly edited a journal for the Black Cat Commandos and learnt there is a high rate of suicide in the army from depression.
On the other hand, like with space technology being used in everyday life, there is probablly a lot of fantastic technology being developed for military purposes that might have uses for the good of society.
The wars in the Middle East ought to tell us the hard reality is that battles are grim, sordid creatures. Syria has lots so much of its valuable history in the last year. Its quite heartbreaking. Now they'll have to rebuild again. Think of the energy wasted.
The flip side is that war is also very dynamic and sets processes in motion. With all the migrants moving to Europe and other places, the world will be forced to be more multicultural whether one likes it or not. Unless you want to waste each day fighting with your ethnically different neighbours.
And I suppose one has to reluctantly concede that given the current reality we ought to thankful the systems are in place like the existing Forces, so we're not occupied like Crimea, because some kooky general in a nearby country got up on the wrong side of the bed!

rambabu answered the question There are more cosmetics targetting Indian men than women. Are they that gullible? Or is it Inferiority complex. I'm not interested in this topic vis-a-vis women..
Do you think making efforts to look good is the special domain of Women ? No.Adorning one's body and looks is prevalent since ages. Indian Mythologies are replete with examples, which stress on the importance of looking good. In this regard, I beg to differ with your view that Men are Gullible.

If any thing has exposed us in the most ridiculous light it is this very issue of framing a uniform personal code for our land. Woolly thinking, sheer political opportunism and above all complete dishonesty of our political leaders have condemned to a vast section of women to a life which is bound to raise frown in civilized world. We have committed ourselves under the Constitutional mandate to make equality before law as the cornerstone of our fundamental rights.Yet years, decades pass by us! Politicians continue to subvert the constitutional objectives working in a way which is completly at odds with the basic scheme of our Constitution.Their pontification, equivocation. and prevarication on the issue came in for sharp reprimand
from the Apex court in so many rulings but who cares a damn????

Absolutely. Displaying extraordinary courage and pouncing on the enemy is nothing new for our Brave Jawans. A Jawan, when in the Battle field thinks only about his Motherland.

Yes, Education has really brought in some drastic changes in the attitude of Women. I had seen , this awareness is spreading in to the interiors of India, though slowly. I wish to see a big change in this regard. And I'm hopeful one day my wish will be fulfilled.

That's what I was saying all along this discussion. One more thing I'd like to say is a Revolution like French Revolution is beyond imagination for this "KARMA BHOOMI." But it is the characteristic of Hindutva.

Yes. Under these imposing and stately relics, a great amount of ancestral knowledge is hidden. How many people especially younger generation is aware of this ? What all the younger generation knows is Lifeless concrete jungles.

We must understand that the caste system cannot be wished away. Most intelligent people are aware of the dangers of the caste system, yet the same is allowed to carry on and acts of parliament are passed perpetuating this evil for ever. What is the solution ? There is none except as Justice Katju says a revolution on the lines of the French revolution of 1789 takes place in India. The caste system is the bug bear of Hinduism and unless it is eradicated, I don\t see any progress.
I wonder if the opinion of the Chinese Institute of Strategic STudies that India will remain a weak and divided nation for ever is correct ?
