Most of us know all there is to know about M F Hussain , through the media and the net , so there is no point in my adding the same information again in a different format and words. I would like to add some of my own personal views about the painter who I had the opportunity of meeting once.   There is no doubt , that he was probably one of the most well- known Modern Indian Painters , also the founding member of Progressive Artistes Group of Bombay. MF Hussain with all that fame and popularity ,was a very humble and an endearing person to all those who came into contact with him. I happened to see him interact with the children at Bangalore , where a school at Koramangala ,close to his house had conducted an arts exhibition. He was the guest of honor and he came on time, sat with the children, making suggestions and interacting with them. He even showed them how to use the brush and the charcoal. Before departing he greeted all of us people gathered there with folded hands with a shy smile. At that time we were not to know that he would leave for the UK within a few months because of the controversy and the problems that arose with it !  (continue...)

Interesting Article. Sure going to be a boon for the doctors and patients so far as speedy diagnosis is concerned. About the death prediction part don't think it should be disclosed to the unfortunate ones who are at risk..a person afterall lives in hope, if he knows for sure that he will die in two days time he will stop living that very moment !

Delays at Toll gates are simply unbearable in India. Even if you  have traveled in Nineties 25 cents flat is simply superb. Additionally no waiting at the Toll gates.

vijay replied to the topic Does toll take a toll on you?.
A 100 km express highway was built around 20 years back at a cost of app. Rs 1200 crores. The toll was Rs 49 per one way. Today the toll has gone up to Rs 66 per one way. Still the cost has not been recovered and the toll amount has gone up. Why should it go up? The traffic has nearly doubled on the highway. That should bring them more revenue. The waiting time to pay the toll keeps going up. But in this particular highway the road  is maintained in an excellent condition. I have traveled in USA and China where also toll has to be paid. But in USA it was a flat 25 cents on almost all the toll roads that i traveled upon in the late nineties. No need of change and receipts also were not given. The traffic thus moved very fast.

suni51 said thank you to Gulshan Kumar Ajmani for his/her reply to the topic 100th B'Day Of Hussain- A Contest for you.
M.F. Hussain was a great painter, artist and also made some movies including Gaja Gamini starring Madhuri Dixit.  He is  internationally acknowleged as a great painter. I know only one another Indian painter, namely Amrita Shergill.  When you think of painting, you cannot help M.F. Hussain occupying your mind.  He was not only a painter of international repute but also a thorough gentleman.  It is very sad that certain organizations disliked and harassed him so much that he had to settle at Dubai where he breathed his last.

Actually from yesterday whenever I am clicking the thank you button, I get a message saying there is an error in executing my request. Now, how do I solve this problem? I am unable to thank anyone so I am feeling sorry for it. Expecting a help from your end.

There is a nexus between the politicians and the Contractors. The politicians including the concerned ministers get hefty amounts for the Party's funds etc. Many times the concerned politician gets a road link to his home which is located in remote regions.

@ sofs It wouldn't be possible to make it free after the initial costs are covered, because a good road needs constant maintenance. Its does cost a lot to maintain the quality of roads. However, as you feel at least the burden of toll fees can be reduced considerably over a period of time. Consequently, it seems road building and maintenance works are what bring money to politicians today. They recover the costs of being elected from the contracts given out for these purposes.  We just become pawns in their game.  We have more than 400 toll collection gates in India...some have been added after this list was made public. Up leads the list with Rajasthan , Maharashtra,TN having the next highest number of tolls..That is a lot of revenue for the National Highway authorities
