Knowlege is collection of information. Knowledge means more informed. Intelligence is the capacity to use knowledge. An unintelligent person may have more knowledge but incapable toproperly make use of.

I agree with you. Application is more important. It has its relevance in all spheres of life that makes you shoot ahead.

Modi rose to the expectations of the electorate. This  itself indicates the superiority of Gujarat Model.

Gain knowledge. And apply.   Yes very true, I guess common sense is also something that comes with intelligence and experience and it is very much needed to face life and its hurdles.

Real knowledge is practical, which can be attained only through experience. Reading no doubt gives you information but an intelligent person is able to absorb and gain knowledge out of it ,use it to his advantage. I agree that there is no use of having any amount of knowledge and intelligence, if not used for practical purpose to better oneself in life ..

Knowledge gained by reading, if not applied in the right direction..  leads you nowhere. Otherwise it's an exercise in futility.

continued .. After M F Hussain fled from India, he spent his time in Qatar which was his adoptive country , where  his son lived and London . In fact, he was more at home in London because of the cultural atmosphere there. He breathed his last at the age of 95, on the 9th of June , 2011 in London. Coming to the question as to whether he deserves the honor bestowed on him, I am not sure. His art was Modern Progressive Contemporary which is actually a mish-mash although it does have beauty. I have seen the modern artistes gallery in London, Hamburg , Belgium and Florence. I personally feel that M F Hussain’s paintings do not come to the standard of those artistes although there are a couple of M F Hussain’s paintings displayed in Hamburg and London. His paintings may have fetched a good price from the Indian perspective but that is not a yardstick for measuring quality. I like a few of his paintings on India civilization series ,but certainly not the controversial nude ones since there is no beauty in any one of them.   On the whole I feel that he got much more than what he deserved as an artiste probably because he was liked by all and his paintings too became more famous and popular because of the many controversies surrounding them and not because they were in any way great !

Lack of confidence and lack of application of their knowledge to real life conditions is also a bane on the Ph.Ds.

The growth of service sector in Gujarat has been lagging most of the other States. As some one pointed out in a TV debate there  is shortage of white collar jobs in Gujarat. The state has developed in manufacturing sectors of pharma, chemicals, and now in automobiles which  offer blue collar jobs. Agriculture sector is good because mostly cash crops are grown like tobacco, groundnuts, sugarcane, castor and cotton. I would like to state here that Gujarat was always an economically better state because of its port facilities  and an important contribution made by NRI Gujaratis who send lot of dollars back home. Also its proximity to Mumbai port in earlier decades and cotton crop and cotton mills brought prosperity to it. The peace loving nature of Gujaratis also helped  in smooth development. When BJP formed govt. under Modi in 2001 Gujarat was ahead of other States in economic development but lagged in social parameters. When Modi left in 2014 the situation was the same but in between spin doctors coined the propaganda slogan Gujarat Model! As a politician he has milked the situation to his favor which is perfectly alright but reality check also must be permitted.
