Mahatma Gandhi believed in simplicity every way- food, clothes and other activities. so he liked simple food.  simplicity is no doubt good for physical and financial health.  But what suited Gandhi may not suit others.  I take wine some times and often take meat. Naturall, I can't be Gandhian so far as eating is concerned.

" Annam Para Brhma Swaroopam. " so goes the saying. One who treats food in a useful manner himself is doing a great service to the humanity. Blaming government is of no use. It's you who should initiative.

People who can afford to eat well never think of people who are less  fortunate...If only there is social awareness in people .. No doubt this gentleman is doing noble deed. What is our government is doing. Lacs of tonnes of grain wasting every year because country have nor storage facilities.   It is not right just to blame the government for every single thing while we ourselves are equally to blame. How many of us go out on the limb and help the farmers? Leave helping any one aside, how many of us take conscious and active efforts to avoid wasting food? How many of us resolve not to spend thousands to visit places such as Tirupati, Shirdi, other places of pilgrimage and then bribe those respective gods with further hundreds and thousands of rupees? So let us not blame the government and start taking some efforts on our own. Let us stop wasting food, water etc. stop buying vegetables and fruits from supermarkets and start buying from local grocers etc.

Religion is personal. I know many couples of different religions and faith living under the same roof leading a harmonious life and enjoying marital bliss Shahrukh and Gauri of Bollywood or Pataudi and Sharmila are but two examples.

Along with Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, yesterday was also the birthday of popular actress Asha Parekh, one of my favorite actresses of yesteryears  , When a music channel played her songs continuously showing a birthday greeting I realised it..

There may be some other cases of celebrities, whose Birthday falls on the same date of birth of Gandhiji and Shastriji on  October2

Parents happily are coming of age with regards to the issues of education and child marriages. Now many incidents are seen everywhere even from the far-off and remote regions where parents are willingly coming forward to to give an ear to the issues of education and of girls as well as their marriages. A change has taken place. It takes time to join the Mainstream.

Things have changed a lot now and so has the attitude of parents towards their daughters. We see parents , even in rural areas realising the need for educating their daughters and make them financially independent. This is also being dinned into the heads of the students at schools so that they become focused and not while away their precious time. Marriage for an individual , either boy or girl should be a choice and not a necessity because of the dictates of the society.

When people begin to distinguish and treat religion as a personal issue things are bound to get better. As of now, we have a messed up society where religion and caste play a predominant role in all spheres of our society , be it education, politics , jobs etc...I wish religion and religious beliefs remains within the four walls of one's own house !
