Well said. Caste system is eating away and tearing apart the Social fabric. I also agree with you that the Dalits who were subjected to suppression since centuries should fight back. or else stay suppressed forever.

It is a fallacy to state that food shapes human consciousness. Some of the worst communal riots have happened in states that are predominantly vegetarian. Taking wine is not at all unGandhian. Mr Ajmani enjoy your drink perhaps it helps you to think better.

In today's India it seems the mantra is all for one -- not the way you meant.

Everyone is a part of the society. All for one and one for all is the only Mantra that works. Not by Passing the Buck.

Will an enlightened ruler like to rule a enlightened country or a power hungry leader like to rule a divided country. The latter seems to be easier.

The biggest enemies of Hinduism are inside it and not outside it. The caste system is  corrosive and is weakening the Hinduism from within. It was felt that education would broaden the outlook of the so called upper castes and help in assimilating the so called lower castes, but unfortunately it has not happened. The  dalits have now only one choice to either fight it out within Hinduism or get out and form a separate group which may mean embracing another religion. The upper castes will still not change. Accidents of birth are used for dominating others.

If not the rulers, who will take action to suppress  this sect " Self appointed and self styled " pseodo protectors.? Government is not interested to resolve this issue for the reasons best known. The fear of losing the Vote Banks.

Intolerance in any religion is not uncommon i India. But it doesn't mean I support intolerance. What I say is Dalits also should realize their rights and fight back. Joining Baba Saheb's Buddhism may be a choice. But it depends on the concerned person.. Now there is a Dalit movement going on against intolerance, untouchability etc.  My opinion in this regard is Dalits should  retaliate.

It is the self appointed protectors in every religion who use muscle power whom the govt. should neutralize to have peace and security in the country. It seems the govt is undecided and that is the root cause of growing intolerance.

For every hate monger there are far more sane persons in the society. Till this balance does nit turn in favor of the former India will be a good country to live in.

Suitability is something connected with personal likes and choices. Since The life style and food Mahatma Gandhi ate suited him he has preferred simple food. Mahatma Gandhi stresses not only  on simplicity but also in setting an example himself by following his principles. Hence the lesson is, though not like Mahatma Gandhi one can stick to simplicity as much as possible within his means.

In Uttar Pradesh, religious intolerance is taking very ugly shape.  Recently a man was killed by mob on mere suspicion that he ate beef. No a ninety year old Dalit killed for entering Hindu temple.  The Dalits are no less guilty. The Hindu religion will never provide them honorable space. I wonder why the stick to Hindu religion and its temples despite humiliation. why not heed to Baba Saheb Ambedkar 's advice to embrace Buddhism if they cannot live without some religion.  90-yr-old Dalit man burnt alive for trying to enter temple in UP | india | Hindustan Times
