Manifesto is what they want to do and one cannot expect it to happen in 2 years of rule when it dont happen in the past years ...They have another 3 odd years , so let us give them time. The problem is the opposition which stops all good work for the sake of doing so...of course people are aware of this and hopefully the next time round things would be more favorable ..

When you arm twist the PM and resort to media circus what else can be expected ? Modi could have remained Maun like the previous PM but he wants to sort things out so he has taken timely action so that these people don't make it their agenda to keep blowing things out of proportion of one issue whereas hundreds of other issues like rape is happening elsewhere , just to embarrass the government . It is good that Modi has taken the initiative and done what needs to be done, that does not mean that they are guilty , but the concerned states look even more blameworthy now,,

As far as manifestos are concerned BJP is delivering the goods in the best possible way. Remember BJP inherited a  desert from the erstwhile rulers. It is not possible to bring greenery overnight in this desert. a steady and consistent efforts are needed, which is what BJP is doing. After all Rome was not built in a day

Agreed Dadri is not a minor incident. This has been admitted by the BJP.senor leaders because it is more concerned about the development of the country than indulging on  issues like Dadri. The BJP  feels strongly it is untimely when the country needs more development. Returning of the writings of the writers is nothing but a political stunt as expressed by Kannada writer Byrappa.

I agree. We the Indians lack  balance in their thinking. We feel elated when a Pakistani national comes to India for Medical treatment as if they they have done a great favor. As for me, I tend to believe the Media reports as there is no other option. Now you said about the Bangalore case because you had seen it. Where as i did not come across with such real life incident.

Now killings will also have proportion attached to them. The protests had an impact, PM was forced to take notice and ask Amit Shah to take to task the fringe elementswho were also discounting Dadri. If Dadri was a minor incidentally why then PM is angry and disillusioned as is reported in the papers.

Kindness is a very powerful weapon in a multi pronged war with a hostile neighbor. Those who receive it are our ambassadors in their country. Tit for tat will widen the gulf.

Dadri lynching incident was high lighted and blown beyond proportions and the protesters wanted to return their writings. No writer said their protest was  against Sahitya Academy. Now after seeing the Meerut riots why no writer has protested and did not return their writings. This the double talk of those Khadi clad politicians with a political motive. I support Byrappa who said that it is a Publicity stunt

A vijay that is imbalanced , one can be balanced in one's reactions with regard to our own people, on the one hand we are at war path with them and go overboard when they come here for treatment.  They have an embassy here which is perpetually extending its hospitality to separatists and other fringe elements , instead they could help out their own people , who come here for treatment while we help ours..

Parties fight elections on the basis of declared manifestos. Not on the background of the leaders.

@ Usha, we agree that no Pakistani patient should be treated in any Indian hospital. They do not desrve Indian hospitality. Hope this will restore balance i the thinking of Indians.

usha manohar said thank you to Kalyani Nandurkar for his/her reply to the topic Smita Patil's Birthday.
usha manohar wrote: Shampa Sadhya wrote: Smita Patil was a great artist and obviously when we discuss her another name comes in automatically and that is of Shabana Azmi. Basically, I am more fond of Shabana Azmi but I do like Smita Patil too. I remember the movie 'Arth' very clearly. I hated her character when I first watched it but later after 4/5 years when I saw the movie once again I found a great change in my thought process. I simply felt that the whole fault was in the male character.   Smitha, Shabana and Deepti Naval were all part of the meaningful cinema of the seventies , it also included artistes like Naseeruddin Shah, Anant Nag , Om Puri,Farooque Sheikh, Amol Palekar , even Amrish Puri who started his career with a film called Kaadu ( forest) in kannada, which won many awards . This was also called Parallel cinema movement , with Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha, Bimal Roy and some film makers from other parts..They lacked funds because there were not many takers but in the sixties they were given funds by the government and seventies saw a boom in such artistic and realistic films..Many directors like Gulzar, Shyam benegal , Mahesh Bhatt and Govind Nihlani came up with some beautiful films during that period. Actresses like Smitha, Shabana ,Deepti and even Supriya Pathak were lucky to be part of that movement which is all but dead now.. Add Ketan Mehta too who directed Smita Patil in Bhavani Bhavai and Mirch Masala, both of which showcase Smita Patil's talent very perfectly! His another film Holi, although Smita did not act in it, is also a great movie. Coming to Smita, if you can watch Marathi film Umbartha , which means the the threshold, the movie has English subtitles too. The movie explores how a woman has to struggle to find her place in society outside her home, her lead co-star was Girish Karnad, an excellent movie!  This is one movie that No fan of Smita Patil must ever miss. And the music by Hridaynath mangeshkar, Lata's voice are only too suiting to Smita's acting prowess.

Initially it was termed as a protest against the central government over the Dadri incident now if they say they are doing it for other reasons they are either not sure why they are returning the ward in the first place or not sure who to blame for what has happened.Any sane person can see that they are state issues ! This very fact that they have no firm stand shows that they have been manipulated and S. L Byrappa who is a very eminent writer was right in his assessment that it was a publicity stunt.

It is a known fact that many of the top BJP leaders have an RSS background and people have voted for them knowingly...RSS and its ideologies are its own but running a nation is quite another matter and even if RSS carries out its mission it need not effect the governance . BJP has been doing excellent work as far as development is concerned and that is precisely why all minor issues are being blown out of proportion by vested interests just to show the party in poor light ..People are intelligent enough to see what is true and what is fabricated and whoever is in the wrong will ultimately pay the price ! It has happened before and will happen again/
