Well said. Discipline is real only when it is shown in all spheres of life. Else, it is selective discipline. This is not only dangerous but also undesirable..Yes, invariably we see disorder in Ration shop queues and Bus stops. And in this respect Pilgrimages too are not spared. In Tirupati, it is a very common scene, Devotees jumping queue creating stampedes.

Making tall idols has become a trend here too in my state AP. This trend is not just restricted to Durga Puja alone. Puja Pandals are vying with each other in creating records.Devotion is nowhere visible. And all this money is extracted from the residents.
It's nothing but wastage of money and resources.

I agree with you, All containers used for eating food or drinking liquids should be verified before buying and using them. Because along with the food or liquids that go in to us will have an effect on our health..
Hence we should not hesitate if such containers are expensive. It's always better to go for utensils even expensive for keeping health sound and strong.

A section of the Corporate world is of the opinion that the combination of BE + MBA is not a good combination. It's a known fact that that Engineering teaches all about technical stuff. About Business skills an Engineer generally is in darkness. I'm not talking about exceptions. But on the whole an Engender doing an MBA is a waste.

When persons, animals, things cease to be use ,it becomes a tempting ruse to dump parents to the care of old age home- animals to abattoir! A kind of kindness I suppose!!

From this thread I have understood one point very clearly that is everything which is easy to handle cannot be the best bet to use. So, before using any utensil for storing food or eating or drinking, we need to be very cautious. A little pain and a bit of extra expenditure can save us from health issues and an expensive doctor's bill.

Kalyani, That's a great judgement. I know that women are suppressed in our country but there are many such cases where women take the advantage of this age old belief and try to ruin their husband and in-law's life. I am against this attitude of the ladies. I respect those ladies who fight for their right on merit and does not play the gender card. Thank God that our judiciary is taking some stern decision!

India is truly unique. In India every common practice has another angle such as the fact about Ravana being worshipped at some places. Anther interesting fact is that Hindu festivals vary from place to place, even days differ and the method of celebration differ too. By the way if we start discussing this variation in Hindu festivals then I am sure we won't reach at a conclusion so it's better to live as it is. Let me take the privilege to wish you all Happy Vijaya Dashami! May you all remain happy and attain best of health!

As I came to know that this time in Kolkata one idol of Goddess Durga is made 80 ft high or so and there was huge rush of people to have a look of it and it resulted into stampede. If it was made with an intention to preserve then it's fine but making when it's not so, then, what is the use? Sheer wastage of time, money, labour as well as life.
