The best ting about rule breakers is that when they are caught they give you a broad smile, at least on the roads I have seen that very often.

vijay replied to the topic Why MBA!.
suni51 wrote: @vijay most companies dealing with highly technical products prefer their sales team having proper technical knowledge with formal marketing knowledge. That way they save time and salary of one extra person. In my case I was a confirmed sales engineer only after completing my PGDMA. My job was to convince engineers/technical persons of various companies regarding my products. Incidentally I was working with Adwani Oerlikon, a Germany/Swiss based and one of the few companies having a wide range of welding electrodes and equipment. Our only competitors were L&T and Indian Oxygen Ltd. I agree engineers doing MBA and joining non-engineering companies may not sound the right idea at a particular point of time but you never know when one gets a chance in his dream company.     What I mean is that all engineers going for MBA  is waste of engineering degree and resources spent  making them one. Need based is altogether a different matter. That is why MBA should be done after a few years of work experience and developing aptitude for it. The en bloc going for MBA has diluted the importance of the degree.  Also I fondly remember the wonderful calenders  Advani & Oerlikon used to print every year. They were a class apart.

Working all these years, with a number of people with colourful and different characters, the one thing I really learned is patience and also different ways of dealing with different types!

But I have to make another point. Thse days, buffalo milk is used more and hardly anyone consumes cow milk. There is no use of oxen in ploughing as tractors have replaced them. There is neither any use of cows nor we can slaughter them for food obviously owingto religious sentiments. How can cows live in human society!  There appears only one alternative. These be declared protected wild animal and removed from the category of domestic animals in the states where cow slaughter is banned. Send them to forests for living as free wild animals. What a funny suggestion! and what perfect example of human gratitude (or lack of it) to an animal that is useful to us in so many ways more than one. So it looks like, it is time to close this topic before we have further suggestions more creative than this one!

The theme of women empowerment is also now widely being explored in Maharashtra during Ganeshotsav celebrations, Mahalaxmi Pujan and then during Navratri. Although such messages are indeed the need of the hour, I still have my doubts as to how much awareness it has indeed brought to populations because hardly any changes are yet to be seen.

This is not only dangerous but also undesirable..Yes, invariably we see  disorder in  Ration shop queues and Bus stops. And in this respect Pilgrimages too are not spared. In Tirupati, it is a very common scene, Devotees jumping queue creating stampedes. Not in Tirpati, condition is same all most at every Piligrimages. True. I Have seen indiscipline  is conspicuously visible in all the pilgrim centers besides Tirupati. Even in Markka holy city of Muslims due to stampedes hundreds of pilgrims  injured. Every pilgrim wants to see the God instantly. Really crazy. God is omnipresent and can be seen at any time.

In our country fees of higher education is exempt from tax, we can claim it. Like it interest which we are paying on education loan is also exempt from tax. Now many insurance companies are coming up with a plethora of tax benefits. When I took policies on health policies for my entire family  these tax exemptions were not there. Even if they were there they were not as attractive as now. But, because i gave importance to health I did not bother about exemptions. At that time I took Children's growth fund for my children which helped me a lot when my children grew up. Saving with bank is not bad option. On fix deposite for 5 years we can clam tax exemption. Insurance it better, it give security cover with tax exemption. Besides fixed deposits, there are several insurance policies. Yhere are some policies exclusively meant for a Child's future, which  assure all the benefits even after the parent's death after an accident or any such unfortunate event. The child will be offered a lump-sum amount. It also waives of the future premiums. The insurance company itself continues investing this money on behalf of the policy holder.

The Durga Puja Padals are also a means of expression of thoughts on social changes. This is akin to themesin liteature and movies. How far this will affect reality cannot be said.

It is true that Puja Pandals  too are the platform for expression. The Arambagh Durga Puja Park on Panchkuian road is no exception. But, this time the Puja Pandal highlighted the theme of  " Woman Empowerment" through a group of Vrindavan widows who were known to have broken many a social orthodoxy barriers. It has to be seen how this social message penetrates in to the society which is male dominated all along.

Gulshan Kumar Ajmani said thank you to anil for his/her reply to the topic Can there be a permanent solution to Cow Slaughter .
Gulshan Kumar Ajmani wrote: anil wrote: usha manohar wrote: suni51 wrote: usha manohar wrote: Gulshan Kumar Ajmani wrote: The suggestion for import of beef does not appear appropriate. India is major beef exporter. However this is now cow meat. Buffalo meat goes in name of beef.  Banning cow slaughter and importing beef is self contradictory.  Ban to be effective is to be on cow slaughter as well as on beef eating.  But such ban can be only according to food habits and culture prevailing in he region.    In fact importing beef makes a lot of sense to me because f the following reasons 1, It puts an end to clashes that arise out d cow slaughter , the law for which is not at all clear cut 2, In India cows are slaughtered fr consumption after they are past their prime and are f no use fr those who sell milk or use them in cultivation purpose, which makes the meat rubbery and of poor quality. 3,Many beef eaters complain about the poor quality of beef available for local use whereas in other countries the quality is far better , so those who want to eat beef , may not be in a very large number in our country get a better choice sans the continuous friction that we have now because of the cow slaughter. With due regards there are at least 40 crore people who eat beef and when I say beef that includes cow as well. You may find it exaggerated but that is the hard truth. So we can cater to them using our own organised sector which can take care of the demand and at the same time keeping the illegal butchery out of the picture.       If we go into history we have had cattle slaughter ban since the medieval times and even during Mughal times .When British came here they started the first slaughter house in Calcutta . However there is reference of a large number of Hindus , even Brahmins and some of the Hindu Gods eating beef in the Vedas. Coming to the present times , as many as 24 states have banned slaughter of cows because of the changed perceptions. The number f beef eaters is abut 80 millions which is a small number compared to the total population http://www.livemint.com/Politics/RhPVLUFmclIDWRIiSoTC7N/Who-are-the-beef-eaters-in-India.html It is not believable that gods eat beef. this rubbish statement is given my one political leader. In which Veda it is written that God eats beef. If we Indian wants to live with peace here, never listen what leaders are saying. Ignore these. I agree. The current opinion and belief is more relevant. We need not bother about the food habits in ancient India. Even if the Aryans ate beef, that is not relevant today. We have to make law and abide by that according to current conditions. So it is okay to ban cow slaughter according to peoples' sentiments/ food habits in the region.  But I have to make another point. Right sir it is best one solution of this problem.
