DCW, Delhi Commission for Women formed is exclusively caters to the needs and complaints from women , harassed by Husband or by his family members. And it remains busy always.
This is the reason why harassed men use the Helpline for women. However seeing the increasing number of men harassed by women who demand for money and other Property issues, DCW has decided to attend the complaints from men also.

I agree with you. For anything to succeed, a good beginning has to be made. Efforts like Depiction of Vrindavan widows, Kamduni rape case protesters in the theme of a Puja Pandal is not only a novel but also trend setting. Changes which have become a part of our lives were once ridiculed.
Hence I expect and hope in a few more years that these themes on the Puja Pendal may become a realty.
It was not a depiction,if I understood correctly. The widows were actually invited and they did participate in the celebrations.

Anyhow it is still in the planning stage. Once it comes into the Market, the buyers can Judge. So let's wait.

The idea of Women's Empowerment is to break free from all that is derogatory, humiliating, demeaning and unacceptable. The power to say 'NO' to dowry, harassment, violence and so on. This comes with education and awareness. Many a times what women accept as a part of life can change when they see other women like them revolting, breaking age old traditions of suppression, coming out in the open and protesting. In the link provided by @ Shampa the inclusion of the widows from Vrindavan, Kamduni Rape case protesters etc can definitely trigger a thought process in some! It can not be the ultimate method of Empowerment but at least the thought and the effort should be lauded.

It has been seen in many cultural exchanges that the people of both countries have learnt something out of the partition. Both of them could not forget their past links. It is on the part of those only who have managed some posts in the Government, bureaucracy, army, politics and terror-oriented organizations which may never feel easy with the unification with the fear of loosing their present status. Secondly, Hindustan was also forced for the division - Mr.Jinnah and some of Indian politicians had become the puppets of the British who never wished this continent to be peaceful after their departure and finally divided the country into two parts. The British had started their evil as early as the year 1857. If it had been the choice of the people of both religions fully, the muslim families who did not migrate would have also gone to Pakistan at that time. The people of both countries can consider about the unification for a peaceful life ahead.

I do not agree that majority of Indians want unification of India and Pakistan. Besides religion differences their are cultural differences also between the two. Also Pakistan acts as a buffer between an unstable Afghanistan and India. Geeta was not a prisoner in Pakistan. Therefore there is no question of exchange of prisoners. Just as we think low of Pakistanis they do so about us. The formation of Pakistan was a well thought out strategy by its supporters and was not on a political whim. It will be a long time before both can have good cultural and political relations. Issue of Kashmir is not easy to resolve.

This is the side effect of so called "Mahila Shashakti karan". Some women are misusing the rights which they are provided for their empowerment. Not all the women are same, but only are few are doing this.

True...when Germany was broken apart, the people from both East and West Germany were heartbroken and they never gave up hopes of seeing their country united again. They Kept trying until it actually happened. However, when India was divided, the colonialists had already managed to divide people by their hearts and so the physical division remained merely a formality. People had already been divided and all the ensuing political circus since then has managed to drive the divide further into the ground turning it into a deep chasm that cannot be crossed. However the least we can do is hope for a certain level of mutual respect and understanding and exist peacefully similar to nations in the European Union.

I don't know how such efforts strengthen the
cause of women empowerment as the very
problem is not a linear one.It is multilayered.
Women are not a homogeneous class in India
with endless stratifications of urban-rural,rich
poor,educated-illiterate and so on and so forth.
Some liberated ones turn exploiters.A poor woman
is as much open to exploitation by her rich counterpart
as any.A cursory glance at cases of domestic
violence and dowry deaths would reveal a chilling
reality.

Running away to an open ground is a wise thing .in open ground buildings will not be there. The risk of getting hurt will not be there.
Regarding the intensity of the quake, it varies from place to place according to a place's distance from epicenter.

I am also from North Rajasthan, I felt the quake two times. The first one was lighter but the second one stronger and every thing placed in the room started vibrating for more than 30 seconds. I with my family members immediately ran out of the house in the open ground.
