One of the SP MPs wants the UN to intervene and the others have all jumped into the bandwagon and issuing statements left right and center.I feel that the election in Bihar too has  an impact because the politicians want to get some mileage out of this issue. Yes this MP is Ajam Khan who wrote to secretary of UN that Muslim is not treated fairly in India. It is rubbish most deed of this person. It is treason. What is difference between Pakistan, who wants intervene of UN in Kashmir issue, and this person.

Regarding our political leaders, RK Laxman once said:  “……That’s what politics is all about today. Blah-blah-blah. The day that stops and the quality of our leaders improve, I will have to retire and go away.”

RAMAKRISHNAN. A wrote: As @Anil said, Secularism does not mean ‘No Religion’. It refers to treating all religions alike. Everyone has the freedom to believe in his own religion, because every human is unique. And there is no wonder if there is 1 billion religions in India. But the thing is that nobody has the right to say that only their religion is right or only their beliefs are right, because there is no specific yardstick to decide right and wrong. But what is happening in our country is a political drama. This drama continues in our political arena for years. All political parties are equally responsible for the ugly situation of our country. You are sir, we should not comments of other religion which hurt the followers. It is my opinion that if we can't respect others religion that we should not be insult others religions. A Hindu not lose any thing if say Id Mubark and muslim also not lose if say happy Depawali.

In our country secularism is the most mis used term by all political parties esp the so called secular parties who have mutilated the word so much so that people never give any importance to either them or their words. They also go around propagating a so called saffronisation which is again a misnomer that only they and their kind understands.

In coming years some country and cities may be sinking in the sea. It is the process of doomsday. But it will took long time. The report made about Dooms Day was made by NASA. The report was made by Professor Safa Motesharreia of university of Maryland funded by NASA. As you said Dooms Day is imminent. The reasons are very clear. If one Looks at the environment abuse increasing by day, One can be sure of Dooms Day if not today, tomorrow. But Dooms Day is a certainty. Dooms day is decided, but it will be after thousands of years not after 10 or 20 years. I read about it  in Kalyan, but I forgot about the time of dooms day.

rambabu wrote: Running away to an open ground is a wise thing .in open ground  buildings will not be there. The risk of getting hurt will not be there.  Regarding the intensity of the quake, it varies from place to place according to a place's distance from epicenter. Yes running away to an open area is best one precaution, I also think for it but I did not.

At present time work of cartoonist is not easy. Our politicians have not tolerance power. Mamta Banerjee CM of WB send one cartoonist behind bar. Jawahar Lal Nehru first PM of India said to R.K. Laxman, when you sketch cartoon on me, send one poitrait of it to me.

Beef politics is the reality of the day, and it will decide the agenda for the coming session of parliament. Is it a diversionary tactic?

First quality than price. Some time people reject product because less cost. Nano of TATA is example of it. TATA promotes this car, as cheapest car. Peoples reject it.

And we are lucky that we have the freedom for interpretation based on our own way of thinking, provided it does not hurt others sentiments.  Exactly. The writer of the article has expressed his views. But it's a blunder on his part for hurting the sentiments of others. Bengalis, who revere Durga  are hurt. Even Non-Bengalis sentiments are hurt. Coloring with caste to the pujas is not right. That is why I believe that we should celebrate festivals in usual way without going deep in mythology. The public perception is all that matters. However the religious scholars may among themselves make any research and discuss among themselves only.

Sounds good. Hope it does well. Just because the costs are low does not necessarily mean it would not be upto the mark. They would have a target market at which the gadget is aimed. Many people need just the basic features. It would suit them fine if the quality is good.

Kalyani Nandurkar wrote: What next are they going to interpret from such festivals? Seriously, Durga stands for the superior classes that must and will always dominate the lowly ones??? Utterly ridiculous and too pompous an article, what was the writer thinking when he wrote this nonsense?? I have come across many such articles written about gods and goddesses where the author gives his or her own interpretation , to suit whatever it is they are trying to achieve..

anil wrote: Most had opinion that after BE MBA is wastage of BE degree. But it is fact most of students of AIIM are BE or B.tec. Civil service is first priorty of engineers. Education never goes waste,it is always an asset to have a solid educational background, and once you have it , you don't have to restrict yourself to civil services only because some of the private companies offer better opportunities and terms of employment.

Shampa Sadhya wrote: I would say that politicians are nothing but power crazy. They can accept or not accept anything according to their profit. At least all the common men are not so opportunist. Going to tantrik is his personal choice but it somehow sounds quite irrational. Politics is pursuit of power to fulfill one's stated agenda. Anything that makes them attain it they will do, just like any other person does. Then why single them out?

Another way of looking is that by accepting the head gear of different communities and faiths they are expressing solidarity with them. Denial is seen as rejection which no one likes. What is wrong if secularism is demonstrated?
