In the morning time, while watcing news snippets in DD news shows that AIR invited applications for sanskrit learned person to translate famous Hindi songs into Sanskrit and then those songs to be sing in same melody of original songs. It is the new trend as I have never ever hard about this before.

Instead of ‘word of the year’, they should have better called it as “Emoji of the year”. .... May be it is a business promotion strategy of Oxford Dictionary.

Aftermath of France attack by IS, Pope said now we are in the era of third world war. Next, in G20 meet all super powers unite and prior to it Russia strike hard on IS den through army as well as air force combination and it is Russia who is making precise strike and considerably destroying strong hold of IS. US forces few days back capture major oil plant of IS, thus reducing their finance considerably, Hopefully, evils of human civilisation will soon go to astray.

It's high time now or else many more devastations will take place. ISIS is a pain so it must be destroyed and for that the world has to unite and act strongly. Good luck to Russia!

Shampa Sadhya replied to the topic Movies that you have seen and would recommend to others .
There are many Hindi as well as Bengali movies which are my very favourite. I like serious movies and even light hearted ones but ultimately there has to be a message and good music. I would like to take two names just because one is a very recent movie which has touched my heart very deeply that is 'Piku'.
Another film is 'Khoobsurat' of Rekha which was released in 1980. This movie taught me many important lessons while I was only a school student then. It taught me that loving bond within the family can always help to maintain discipline but if family is controlled with extreme strictness then the sweetness of love goes missing. Every heart wants to rebel because laughter can strengthen a bond and not dictatorship. Another point was very rightly pointed out in the film that we should not take light hearted people as useless and irresponsible. To be responsible there is no need to be strict person and it showcased that lively people can also have heart full of feeling.
Rekha was brilliant and who can forget Ashok Kumar and Dina Pathak's performance. Usually, each and every movie of Hrishikesh Mukherjee is wonderful but this one is very special to me because of its extraordinary dialogues which makes me watch it again and again.

The way things are moving the IS will not be able to attack anywhere in two weeks time from now. Russia is playing the major role of a destroyer without caring for America this time.
Russia hopefully will present no obstacles from America henceforth. Putin, for years has been trying to remove Bashar-Al -Assad of Syria who is behind the strength and growth of the ISIS monster that we are seeing today. America has always held back for obvious reasons and it took 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center towers to shake them to reality. Hopefully it has awakened now and will allow Russia to take action it has been itching for years to take. Seeing that French have already started taking firm action, it should be no problem now.

In none of my posts I have advocated the cause of this language as a spoken language despite its extraordinarily rich vocabulary it can't be the lingua franca like English. The reasons are clear. As to the small number of people who visited this planet to reform and break fresh and new paths and vision my only question is : When did we have them in thousands
and millions unlike today when we have more leaders than followers!!!!

Emoji sign is word of the year of oxford dictionary. It is interesting, perhaps we slowly moving towards the age of Indus valley civilization. Language always improves, a live language tries to take good snapshot from corresponding influencing agents and this goes on to show how Internet and social networking sites have deeper impact on day to day language we use.

Yes, probably so. But I'm sure language is made with words! is not even a word!! Isn't there a charm in articulate speaking and writing ? I too use it on whatsapp or fb but it is more of an expression. Well I thought its inclusion in the dictionary and to make it word of the year is weird !!
