rambabu replied to the topic Ayurvedic Medicines Vs Allopathic Medicines.
Due to rampant self medication, many ailments are caused. And I'm very familiar with such people who prefer to go for the advice of Medical shop salesman than the qualified Physician.
Perhaps this is also a reason for the side effects attributed to Allopathic medicines.

Allopathic medicines are more advanced and do have side effects because they are chemical compositions meant to affect those parts of our body which need to be treated but they often act on they parts as well . Painkillers are best examples. This causes the problem. Medication should be taken only when necessary and when advised by doctors because adverse effects and even contraindications need to be taken into consideration. This goes for all medicines whether Allopathy, homeopathy or Ayurveda.

It's a universal truth, nothing on earth is stable and nothing predictable too. Same is the case of relationships too. Except blood relationships, almost all relation that we attain are through our choices based on our likes and dislikes. Yet, why those relationships...may be love, friendship, spouse relations or anything else, lose its freshness tomorrow or day after tomorrow in most cases? Relations become sweeter as time passes by, only in a few cases. Why all relations except blood relations have the same effect? Does it mean only blood relations are bonded each other for some unknown reason?

rambabu replied to the topic Oxford Dictionary's word of the year!!!.
The Oxford Dictionary authorities right from the beginning saying that Emoji is not a word but an emoticon and it cannot be found in Dictionary. So there is no fear of students using them in their examination papers or in their notes.

Dictionaries keep adding words which are commonly used and these days Emoticons are used regularly. English language has evolved a great deal over the years. Even modern English which roughly began at the time of Shakespeare has seen tremendous change since the Britishers colonised many countries and the languages spoken in those countries influenced English. Agreeing to all that but still unable to accept that an emoticon can be regarded as a word. Yes, changing times I guess!! Actually even in schools when words are used, one takes Dictionary as the reference to acceptable words. They are used if found in the dictionary unless it is a slang. So, in coming times, can we expect and accept our students wiring sentences with smilies in answer sheets or people writing leave applications with emoticons?? Well maybe someday !!
