In case of Dilip Kumar I'm very much convinced that he's the greatest of all time. Not only me, the elite of Movie industry. The link I had provided gives a detailed account of how great personalities in the Movie world including legendary Satyajit Roy simply bowed before this thespian for his histrionic talents only. Not other aspects.  There will always be ONLY ONE Dilip Kumar.   I feel all these awards are nothing but part of reservation system in our country. These awards are not given based on talent but for gaining/balancing political weightage. You will soon see Aamir, SRK and Salman in queue for a Shree, vibhushan, or even Ratna. I say scrap all this crap and clean the politics. A totally biased opinion to say that Padma Awards are a part of reservation system. Any work of distinction in the fields of art, literature, social work etc, by any person without distinction of race, occupation, position, sex are eligible for these Awards. Conferring Padma Vibhushan on Dilip Kumar is very much Justified.

So not Punjabi but Hindi is practically the mother tongue.  A poster has commented that he and his children no longer use Bagri so much. Sp practically, Bagri ceased to be mother tongue and for all purposes, Hindi is the mother tongue in his family.  yes it right sir no one will speak in my family my mother tongue. My Father-in-law and Mother-in-law both are from Punjab but they never speak punjabi in their house. So non of their family speak mother tongue. All are speaking Hindi. With mother tongue knowledge of local language is also necessary. My mother tongue is Bagri but I can speak, write and read Punjabi.

The Pakistani award Nishan E Imtiaz was given to Dilip Kumar in 1997 before the Kargil war i 1999. So, there is no connection between the two !

A truly great personality especially when you compare him to the Saudi rulers who are only now giving the women partial right to vote !!!!! It is unfortunate that he died at a relatively young age of 57, am sure he would have contributed much more .. India is a country that is never sure which direction it wants to take as yet, so I guess we need to be thankful and be satisfied with small mercies ! Don't say mercies, these are right and not handout. Women also have equal rights in India. Turky is small country and most of the population is of Muslims. India is differ than turky. Illiteracy is main problem here but situation is improving but it is some slow.

It is the problem that I am longing for sound sleep. I spent 8 to 9 hours in a day in sitting posture. I also tired but this tiredness is not helpful in sleeping.

MG Singh wrote: I am glad Dilip Kumar got the award, mainly as it will nail the lie that BJP is anti Muslim. Dilip is aMuslim and has recieved the Nishan e Pakistan, the highest  civil award in Pakistan. He accepted it during the Kargil war. His role during the Pak India war of 1965 was also dubious. However having said that, I will add he was a great actor. BJP never anti Muslim. When Vajpayee was PM BJP government was nominate Shbana Ajami in Raja Sabha. Shbana is not a supporter of BJP. Accepting any award from Pakistan, when our soldiers were fighting and dying, was not fair. It was against courtesy.

Modiji is a good example of the outcome of RSS and those who compare RSS with terrorist organizations are either fool or they don't want to see India a developing country. Those who have been part of an organisation like RSS are taught not just discipline but good values too, which is very essential in today's corrupt times. People like Vajpayee, Advani and Modi have shown that politicians can have a clean image unlike old times when corruption and communalism was legalised by the top family and became a way of political life .
