Just as all holy men do not go to heaven so also all those who drink do not untimely die. Have a heart.

Because Llalu's rise was because of these misfired plans. If they had not misfired Lalu would not be in a position to send his wife and daughter to Rajya Sabha. Tunnel vision debates are meaningless.

We are talking about Lalu's strategy. It is not necessary to know whose plans are misfired

When I said Mother tongue, it is the Mother tongue of the individual. It has got nothing to do with religion. Even a tribal will be having his Mother tongue and there are stories in their Mother tongue. He will tell these tales to his children

BJP also worked as per its by now well exposed plan but it severely misfired in Bihar. The opposition outfoxed both Modi and Shah. If you observe carefully dynasties are also ascending within BJP. Only Modi is clean on this count. Soon this arguement against Congress etc will lose its steam.

Awareness should lead to more persons getting health insurance to meet treatment costs. Govt. hospitals are not able to give proper treatment facilities because of the tremendous volume of patients they have to handle. If the govt. hospital has a good reputation like AIIMS then even the rich come for treatment at subsidised costs. There must be a graded system where patients are charged according to some set criterion so that subsidies are reduced. I agree that doctors should have a bond to serve govt hospitals for a minimum period if they have passed out from govt colleges. As per the Report of the Steering Committee on Health for the 12th Five Year Plan of the Planning Commission, India has 19 health workers (doctors – 6, nurses & midwives – 13) per 10,000 people in India. WHO norms provide for 25 per 10,000 people. Most of these health workers wish to work in urban areas. In rural areas, the medical facilities are worse. They can be improved if all the doctors must have at least 3 years of practice in rural areas before they are granted permission to practice in urban areas. Further, the medical facilities must be excluded from the Corporate sector to make cheaper for a common man. For a country of our size only 30000 doctors are produced every year. This is also a reason why they command high charges. Engineers are produced by the lakhs and are relatively cheaply available. Why government does not increase medical seats is a mystery. I met a girl who is doing her MBBS from Russia. A boy in my society has just completed his course in Romania and is going to Germany to do MS.Hundreds are studying in China. We enrich these countries and starve our people. So much for planning.

The goof up by BJP in Bihar elections esp its motormouths drove voters to Lalu. He will naturally encash this opportunity to consolidate his dynasty, the birthright of politicians, whether one likes it or not.

That is why we must first define what exactly is meant by Indian culture .For many it is religion which is not true. People are attracted to English because it ensures a job and bread and butter. One can also learn mother tongue.

t is a classic case of protecting the interests of the rich and not sparing the rod for the poor. Do only rich have the right to drink and do associated activities. Either have full prohibition or no prohibition.

Well, restricting sale of liquor only to five star hotels would mean rise in production of illegal hooch which is far, far more dangerous than regular alcohol products sold in licensed shops. These illegal hooch liquor is made from really noxious and poisonous stuffs and kills hundreds, so many hooch tragedies have occurred through out the country. Prohibition increases attraction and also temptation, so instead of prohibiting it completely it should be sold legally in controlled conditions.

This is a sign of a poor country, so people better save as there is no social seccurity net like in Europe and Canada. I personally feel that while social security, unemployment benefit , child benefit and other measures that are there in other countries tend to make people lax which one can see after a few generations have passed. Everyone should work for their living and save part of their savings. Our government has enough schemes to help out people who want to invest and enhance their savings..all that is required is a will to do so and be consistent in their saving habit ! I agree, it is the duty of every individual to work hard and save for his own or her own future and also pay taxes properly so that the government can provide basic facilities to everyone. While social security that other countries provide are good to some extent, these facilities are still abused greatly. eg. unwed mothers in UK get financial assistance by the government which has led to great increase in the percentage of girls as young as 14 and 15 giving births to children all because they get money from the govt for it and they do not have to work for it.
