It's all about our faith in these values and not necessarily meant chanting about loud in public but if one hears people talking against these in the name of freedom of expression it becomes necessary to tell them the importance of such slogans.

first of all BHARAT MATA KI JAI. I am an Indian and I feel proud to say BHARAT MATA KI JAI. i think we cannot force someone to say BHARAT MATA KI JAI, it comes from inside not by forcing.

As long as we remain scrupulously committed to the lofty ideals of our constitution and live up to these cherished values it hardly matters if one chants it or not in order to prove our patriotism. Our energies could be better harnessed to make a progressive and prosperous India. To a famished,Ill ,illiterate Indian it sounds more of a cruel joke!!

Such an inhuman and disgusting act!! The MLA should be severely punished and be made to pay for what he did, no matter which party he belongs to!

Kalyani Nandurkar replied to the topic How clean can a city be, really?.
When such surveys are conducted, only a random sample is selected, in this case, select places of the cities might have been selected for the survey and they might have turned out to be cleaner than other places. but all in all, we should not rely only on such surveys alone but help in cleaning campaigns as much as we can and try to keep our cities clean.

Usha, you know that in Bengali families wearing sleeve blouses is a very general thing and widely accepted norm. Even the elder ladies wear sleeveless blouses over saris very comfortably and carry it easily. It is not an issue in cosmopolitan cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Pune and other places. But Tamil Nadu is still quite traditional and conservative and in Chennai too, such dress codes are not accepted as easily although there are some exceptions. So there is still a long way to go where mindset about such things go.

Gulshan Kumar Ajmani replied to the topic Six Hindus attempt suicide to put pressure to declare Cow as "Mother of India".
This is an expression of extreme madness. We have seen many committing suicide in the South as expression of respect for a jailed leader. It is okay to worship cow or may be even okay to demand giving status of national animal. But it is sheer madness to commit suicide even without waiting for action by govt. and parliament. Presently, Tiger is national animal. cow may be replaced as national animal. People may demand but then they have to wait for constitutional process.

Kalyani, in another thread I had mentioned the same thing, the arrogance and the intolerance that I have seen personally while growing u for when CH we gave no one else but the oldest party to blame since they have always divided the society on communal grounds. It is only after son hindu groups began to hit back that they began to tone down.

The symbols and tokens are also significant. We need take a balanced view. The real patriotism is loving people of the land and doing our job honestly. But we also need to express our feelings especially on certain national festivals. National flag, national anthem and slogans like Jai Hind, Bharat mata ki jai are way of our expression of patriotism. These also cannot be under estimated. But we not get too far. If somebody is not comfortable in saying Bharat mata ki jai, he is not necessarily a traitor. He may also be a patriot. There are diverse ways of expressing patriotism. we need not thrust any particular slogan or symbol on everyone.

It's not the nation that provides food or shelter but it's the duty of citizens' to make enough efforts to make a nation. If the citizens sit inside their homes expecting everything to drop inside their mouths or even destroying the property they have no claim to have a right on anything. We know our rights but we do not know our duties. A common man needs to give to the nation before demanding anything in return.

This Country needs much more than Bharat Mata. There are more issues to think and act like economic condition and how to boost it for the development of this Country.
Correct, " Bharat Mata ki Jai " is a mere slogan and there are pressing needs of the nation than discuss this topic.Talking of Owaisi, I have seen his videos on YouTube and he has always defended India in interviews in Pakistan.
A Nation that provides food and shelter to the common man is the real nation.A peoples' nation. Other things are irrelevant.

i wonder how silly can Indians get. India is the second largest exporter of beef in world and only last week at the CarreFour Supermarket inAbu Dhabi, I saw there was a prominent board " Indian Beef". Similarly there are other boards like Paksitani beef and Australian beef. I wonder why dont these people decide to commit suicide for the ills of Hindus like caste, child marriage, Female infantacide, widow rehablitation?
