I see the comments against atheists of being irrational and intolerant very bizarre. In fact, the rationalists and atheists are not given any protection and freedom unlike the believers. You can't hurt the sentiments of the believers as these are very brittle and easily broken. The believers consider the age old traditions and beliefs as a sort of assets passed on as succession from forefathers. On the other hand, it takes mental and moral courage to go by independent and rational mind and discard the beliefs passed on by older generations. It is only the rationalists and independent thinkers who bring change. They have the patience and tolerance to face the aggressive attitude of the believers. Their sentiments are seldom hurt.

It just goes to show the pathetic state of average India human mind, selfishness.. I sincerely hope that the court takes a strict view of the issue Courts are last hope in this country, it is very sad that court didn't order to cancel these rubbish, show   The first one has been allowed and today the CM of Maharashtra has also agreed that the games could be shifted elsewhere, but where ? Karnataka has a drought situation and I am sure most people dont want this white elephant there ... What will happen if IPL repeal? World will end?     This was asked by me earlier and some members of course wanted the game to go on ...anyway, after some stiff opposition by many citizens our netas too are singing a different tune now and with more opposition, hopefully the IPL will close down and the gracious and dignified game of cricket will take over, of course sans the loads of money that the players and organisers have got used to now.

Probably the NDA government in the past two years has faced every kind of obstacle possible from the opposition trying their level best to show Modi and the BJP in poor light , one wonders if any other leader faced the kind of anti propaganda as Mr.Modi did, but people who voted him and  believed in him and helped his party to come into power have stood by him and this survey says it all.. http://www.livemint.com/Politics/04OCuQvMizRNSJk9gFBEDP/NDA-popular-despite-drawing-flak-periodically-survey-finds.html

Anything in excess is bad and this is not just with regard to religion or religious beliefs. The cases cited is ne such example but it is not a norm among religious people or among the believers . Religion like any other institution has its uses and just because one is not a follower or believer, does not give the right to be judgmental of other peoples beliefs and practices. One may derive the same kind of satisfaction after doing puja that a person derives out of meditation or yoga. So, how can one have any superior views about one's own practices and put down others? It just gooes to show how self centered people are . In fact Aethists and rationalists are some of the most irrational people because they have no tolerance nor do they try to analyse an issue dispassionately and see why such a practice exists . In life what is most important is personal happiness and one can derive it any way one wants as long as it does not harm others..

Often many say that money can but goods but not happiness, books but not knowledge, cosmetics but not beauty and so on.  But what is true. Money can buy happiness. Only you must buy according to your personal traits. If you love literature, buying books will bring happiness. If you lobe site seeing, money on travel will make you happy.  http://www.dnaindia.com/health/report-money-can-buy-you-happiness-here-s-how-2200149

In fact, spending money can  indeed buy happiness as long as the purchases are in tune with the person's traits. In my own case, I derive immense pleasure and happiness when I read a Book of my favorite author. But in these days books are not available for a cheap price. I buy books which are available at a cost within my reach.  For other expensive Books, which I cannot afford ,I became member in a Library. The yearly fees is mere Rs. 150. Additionally, I exchange Books with like minded Book lovers

Banking as an institution became the property of the politicians after Indira,Gandhi nationalised them and brought it under the control of state. People like Mallya have taken advantage of this system..Although they function independently the final say has to come from the government agencies..   http://blogs.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Swaminomics/banks-will-remain-political-fiefdoms-till-privatized/?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=TOI

Every religion contains blind devotion and superstitions. As long as you follow rituals just as social event and customs, there is no issue. But when you take this very seriously, result is disastrous.  One may even kill oneself out of frustration if the blind faith proves untrue. This actually happened. http://m.bhaskar.com/news-hf/HAR-HIS-OMC-ritika-share-story-about-two-sister-suside-case-5293547-PHO.html

Thinking that god will grant all the desires is height of Foolishness. Performing Poojas every day expecting  returns is nothing but offering bribe to the God. One should know, real Puja is that without expecting any returns. If at all God exists, God knows what you need. You need not appeal him again and again. God knows what you need and what you deserve.

Fascism may take various names and shapes in different countries. This may be known as fascism in Italy, Nazism in Germany and Hindutva/ Hindu Rashtra in India. The essence is supposed superiority of certain community or race, hatred towards others and intent to destroy all opposition and dissent.  No doubt, Hindutva RSS brand or Hindu Rashtra concept is shape of fascism in India.

No doubt, Modi is still most popular. But the point is whether his popularity has increased or declined or remained static since last parliamentary elections.
