Even the sports you mention India has not done well for a nation of 1.2 billion. Outside India even in cricket we have the greatest records of defeats in cricket. Under Dhoni India lost 8 consecutive tests in England and Australia- a world record of consecutive defeats. In tennis we have never one a wimbledon singles or any other major singles tournament. One swalow doesnt make a summer and in badminton except for one player its a big zero. We won 0ne medal in 100 years of olympics. Same in weightlifting and sports of strength. Be realistic and accept that Nehru had lopsided priorities. Had he concentrated on  making plans to feed the poor than in trying to be a " world Leader" where he crashed anyway, things would have been better.  ! I am a nationalist and travel abroad and I have been asked these questions. Its not good to be an ostrich.  I maintain India just cannot match a country in sports with tiny countries of 4/5 million despite 1200 million. Who is responsible?   You are right. While it is true that there are certain achievements in the arena of Sports and Games, it's a pittance, for a Nation of 1.2 Billion of population. When the question of Who is responsible arises, there are several reasons like too much of political interference is one of the causes for the sorry state of affairs in Sports arena. Lack of infra structure is another reason. Due to this, an aspiring Sportsman cannot prepare to take part in International level of competitions. Abhinav Bindra, the only individual Gold medalist  from India went to Germany for his training.

Bhaktas are of two kinds, The first kind is a Bhakta, who blindly believes, the misdeeds of their Deity. They don't have courage to question their Deity. Whereas, the second kind adores their deity, but also have the courage to question their Deity.

Modi and the BJP for the game of votes have compromised on some basic issues and this cannot be accepted. The BJP manifesto talked of removing special status of Kashmir and uniform civil code. In two years Modi government's performance here is zero and it shows that Modi is missing his date with history.  No, excuse for it.

vijay wrote: Why are the bhaktas so nervous that they keep reminding each other about his greatness/popularity? Hi ! I would like to ask why are his detracters so concerned about his popularity? Incidentally I am not a Bhakta of Modi and have criticized him many times. There is an article on Modi in the cans, read it it when it is published in a few days.

Gulshan Kumar Ajmani wrote: It is incorrect to say that there is a uniform civil code even for 85%. There is no common code even for Hindus. There are two schools- Dayabhag in Bengal and Assam and Mitakshra in rest of India. Both these are part of Hindu law.  The entire talk of uniform civil code in meaningless. BJP has been talking about so called common code in past. But while in power, they have understood the folly and no longer even talk about this.  There is already common and same law for all citizens in civil, commercial, criminal matters that affect all uniformly.  Personal law is something that is a matter of indoor management of marital customs and affairs, succession and similar matters.  In name of so called common civil code, the real intention is to force the Hindu religion, tradition and customs on minorities.  This is neither feasible nor desirable. In fact, the BJP led government also has no such plan. Then there is no sense in discussing such issue. I sometimes wonder whether you believe in what you comment. Can you please elucidate that in ALL countries there is a uniform civil code. Does this mean that they are enforcing Christianity on minorities like in Europe and USA. Come man ! dont get paranoid about Hinduatva

If we think practically, it is right to say that money buys happiness. If we have money, higher education is possible,or else even with strong desire to study, without money its not possible to achieve your desire..

Good number of members are active these days, admin should try to continue with revenue sharing. It will be add in activity for both new and old members.

For information of Nehru baiters, it was he who was a champion of uniform civil code but faced opposition from many influential leaders of that time and thus settled for Hindu Code Bill which have equality to women. Then in 1955 Special Marraiges Act was passed under which any person of any religion could marry and it was against polygamy. Constantly blaming Nehru with no knowledge of facts betrays an agenda and cultivated bias.

But it is an accepted form of behaviour, isn't it?

The BJP under Modi has tough task as removing the tentacles of Congress right from Nehru is not easy. Modi is like Bishama and i hope he gets two decades to restore greatness of India.

I guess Indians are the only people who take pride in this trait...I have seen Indian children urinating in the open school grounds in UK, in fact had the embarrassing experience of two teaching staff crticise about it. They tend to think it is an accepted for of behavior here !!!!

The court has noted down all these details and also said that it is better to shift the jamborie elsewhere. In a country hit by one of the worst droughts ever, is there a need for this? At present most of part of India is facing water crises. It may serious in some region. At present cost of 1 bucket water in Shimla is 100Rs. In that respect, we in AP, except Telengana are lucky, We do not have any water scarcity. Let IPL be shifted to Vizag, We also have any problem of water but I never suggest that IPL shifted to Sriganganagar. Some matches of Pune shifted to Moholi. Nice decision. As of now many of the states are facing drought although Karnataka is not one of them, which surprises me..We never have any water problem in the coastal areas but interiors always have ..
