In our country, we have certain norms and customs that simply force us to spend much more than what is necessary, and most of this can be easily classified as conspicuous consumption. The very sad fact of life is that most of what is wasted, can be effectively used by millions of people. For example, let us take the big issue of Indian weddings.  Talk of inflation, talk of insecurity, talk of tough times -- but Indian weddings have not changed a bit.  The lavish spread of food on plates or on banana leaves, is something that we all need to be ashamed about. The amount of food that is ridiculously wasted can feed at least five hundred people, and this is the food that is wasted from one single marriage hall.  On a very auspicious day, when hundreds of weddings are held at different places, one can imagine what will be the net wastage. Secondly, even in the same wedding, the amount that is spent on decoration and on jewels is just mind boggling.  Why should we spend such huge amounts on weddings is never answered, or even though of, much less debated. Worse, the dowry menace is still on.  In most weddings what is given as "gifts"  by the poor man -- the father of the bride is on display, as if it is for the public to understand how rich he is, or what sort of security he is giving to his daughter.  The bridegroom, even if he is educated and well settled, does not bother, as the keys to the marriage are not held by him, but by his parents. This is absolutely shocking, in a country, where millions do not have the bare minimum to eat or survive.  The worst part of the whole thing, is that if a small fraction is what is spent on weddings is given to the poor, the world will be a far better place for the poor, to live in.+ There is more in society, and this is absolutely criminal.  Most State Governments treat public money, as if it is their personal property.  For a single visit of the absolutely corrupted Jayalalitha, the imperious Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the poor citizens of the State, end up spending at least five lakh rupees.  Apart from the security, what is given as food and as gifts by party men, is all that is looted from the public in every scheme.  What the people do have is misery of the tallest order. It is not that Tamil Nadu is alone.  The most corrupted politicians indulge in conspicuous consumption of the worst kind.  At times, the weddings or social gatherings of the political bosses get commented on the social media, but that is quietly forgotten as well. Thirdly, it is rather sad that in the name of God, several stupid practices add to conspicuous consumption.  In Tamil Nadu, come summer, and in every "mariamman" temple ( that are thousands in the State), there is an absolutely cruel practice of animal sacrifice.  At one single time, and within a time span of half an hour, some one thousand goats and sheep and chicken are butchered with violence of the tallest order. Minutes later, there is a mad rush to collect the meat that is happily consumed by thousands of people.  This is conspicuous consumption at its worst, as it only reinforces the belief that cruelty to animals is fine, and that it is a way of life.  No wonder, the Brahmins and other total vegetarians of the State hate these practices and at times, a few harsh articles have appeared in the press.  But this is about all.  Nothing happens, and the people keep doing whatever they want, all in the name of God.  One is told that there are similar practices in States like Andhra Pradesh, but Tamil Nadu must be the worst in terms of animal sacrifice, in the name of God.  The main problem is that the State is home to at least two thousand such temples.  So, we can easily imagine the waste that goes on, in the guise of worship to God. Films also add to the already bad situation, as conspicuous consumption is often sought to be glorified in movies.  Worse, the hero is shown as the absolute answer for all social ills, with a larger-than-life image.  Rajnikant is one hero who is guilty of such an image trap.  The conspicuous consumption that goes along with the making of such blockbuster films can easily be imagined. Rajnikant does some charity, but it is peanuts when compared with the likes of MGR, who was the first hero to practice what he preached in or through his movies.  However, by no stretch of imagination can it be denied that Rajnikant, is a willing party to conspicuous consumption of the worst kind. In the name of development, there is another form of conspicuous consumption.  The new capital of Andhra Pradesh is now coming up on acres of most fertile land.  This is simply atrocious.  The Chief Minister has justified his stand, even in the face of massive opposition from farmers.  Our great Prime Minister, Mr Modi, has simply played ball, without questioning the stupidity of the move to bring up a Capital city in the most fertile area of Andhra Pradesh, right on the banks of the prestigious Krishna river. Eating of junk food by hundreds of thousands of IT professionals, is another form of conspicuous consumption.  This is a very dangerous and a very unhealthy trend.  Some fifteen years ago, no one would have thought that KFC and Domino Pizza would become so famous in Chennai.  Unfortunately, they sit pretty and are doing roaring business in every single locality of Chennai, where the likes of Saravana Bhavan, offer the best food in terms of quality vegetarian food. Most importantly, eating of junk food is so unhealthy, and since they lack time, the IT professionals do not mind eating such food -- with disastrous consequences.  In fact, most heart attacks are a result of this horrible conspicuous consumption. Yes, there is an urgent need to stop or at least, minimize the conspicuous consumption at various levels.  Only concerted action and communication, can help in both the short term, and the long term. The time to act is now -- it is now or never.

It was Mahatma Gandhi's words that still spell magic, even decades after he tried to influence the capitalists with his concept of trusteeship.  "There is enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed". Mahatma Gandhi was the greatest Indian leader ever, and had and still influences the way hundreds of thousands of Indians think even today, when it comes to thinking about sharing of resources with others.  Make no mistake. Mahatma Gandhi was able to influence a few more great Indian leaders in a very big way. Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajaji, Kamaraj, Sardar Patel, Morarji Desai and a few others.  But thereafter there has been a big vacuum. Still, there are several other values that are uniquely Indian, which we need to take to the world and make a big noise about, at least much more than what we are doing now. Let us discuss some of these values, and then extrapolate these values and distill the learning that can come through these values.  The most important value that Indians have is tolerance of ambiguity.  Look at how the very poor and the lower middle classes go about their lives.  At most times of their career, their meager savings do not allow them to enjoy even the normal comforts of life.  Quality medical care of the private sector is beyond their reach. They just about manage to make enough to keep their bodies going on a day to day basis.  Most of their drop out before they reach the school final stage, or just after that. It is this big group of school drop outs who go all out to join politics or make a living out even the smallest political action, in most of the small towns and villages.  Most of this is unethical, though. Yet, the most important point is that whatever the outcome of every single difficulty that they face, most Indians quietly go about their lives, giving a firm foundation for peace at the society level. The second very important and good Indian value is the sacred nature of the family as a unit.  The Indian family is possibly the best surviving social institution in the world.  The Indian family, in general, is the symbol of affection, of caring and sharing and of tolerance.  It is also the only unit of Indian society that sanctifies the place of the woman in the society.  A great deal of importance is still given to the married woman, and the huge number of customs and rituals that reinforce the sacred nature of the family and the married woman, is one message that comes out loud and clear. The third value of Indian society, is still, honesty.  There are millions of honest tax payers from among the middle classes, which actually keeps the Central and State Governments flush with cash.  This is a very important Indian value, even when there is a threat to the society and its values, from all quarters. The fourth value of Indian society, is the compassion that Indians have for those who are not so well off, economically.  Even today, there are several old age homes and homes for the mentally unstable people, which are run, exclusively, with donations from the corporate houses and the middle classes. What has not been published in a big way, and what is a really big value, is the kind of affection and love, Indians show on foreign tourists and the way in which Indians go all out of the way in making them comfortably. This fifth value, has not received global attention. The union government and the State Governments need to make the right sort of publicity and the right kind of pitch, as far as this value is concerned.  This can in fact bring huge revenue. The sixth value of Indian society, is the importance the middle classes give to education.  Yes, there are mismatches in skills, and there are gaps between what is needed and what is provided in higher education.  Still, what needs to be remembered is that India has still produced some of the world's best technocrats and even managers. who are now manning the senior most positions in several Corporates around the world.  This value will continue to be a very good value, and this can make a huge difference to the economic viability of the Indians in general, in a globalized world. The seventh value of Indian society, is the balance between the spiritual and commercial lives, of every Indian.  Nowhere in the world will anyone find so many rituals, and temples and sanctity in terms of beliefs, of millions of people.  The spiritual balance is in fact, a big factor in maintaining peace in the society, and keeps social tensions under control.  Hence, we can indeed be proud of some of our values outlined above.  These values need to be known to every foreigner visiting India, and those interested in India, in some way or the other.

The interaction between any device or modern amenity and society is the most significant point. So it is with the television. It is an audio-visual electronic device of the modern age. It has invested life with a new charm that can never be dismissed summarily as harmful. To be very plain no scientific thing is, in itself, harmful, expect, of course, the lethal weapons. The television today has become a domestic commodity. Almost every house owns it. It is a source of entertainment in hotels, restaurants, deluxe-coaches, planes and what not. The cinema caters to the taste of the people at limited hours and in limited things. But the TV with its far-flung multiple channels have a wild variety of things and programmes to cater.  The chief issue is how to use the television. Ours is a permissive society, although still in a considerable section of our globe men live primitive lives. It can be proved that the utility of the television lies in its proper use. Otherwise, like Ms Shelley’s Frankenstein, it harms the master that operates. Take the case of its commercialization in our country. The channels make a reckless display of nude or semi-nude films, crime and paranoiac behaviour. As a result the colleges and now even the schools and their hostels teem with cases of sexual violence and the society at large has become a prey to interchanging wives and promiscuity. The West, which fell prey to it now confronts the fatal disease called AIDS. Even our own country is today a victim of it. Doubtless, the TV, more than the cinema, is accountable for it, for it administers the poison to the milling millions day in and out. In consequence of the heavy toll of the disease, the counter wave sets in. It is again the TV that comes to the rescue. The global investigations, conference of doctor, findings and remedies are all disseminated to the public through the TV. Naturally, in the ultimate analysis, it is the role of man that comes foremost. The TV has a powerful educative value, the quiz contests, the merits of proper child-care, intelligent programmes to create awareness of family control among the illiterate and many other such educative programmes are being done though the TV to good effect.  The television is usually a vicarious means of entertainment. In general it shuts our mind out. We are treated to wide variety of programmes. We sit through them – religious, secular and vulgar, with our children unconcerned at how it militates against our culture. Few of us, indeed, think of the harmful effects of such programmes. Had it been a bad film on the cinema screen, perhaps we would check our wards from going to it. But at home everything is homely and we suffer from no hesitation in passing our time over such filthy scenes with our wards.  Another powerful asset of the television, today, is its exposure impact. Sidhi Baat or say Jan Adalat interviews of defamed politicians with unforgiving critics like Prabhu Chawla, Nalini Singh invariably has greater impact. Reading of scandals in the newspaper or hearing of them in the radios do not shame the wrong doers to that extent as when he is conscious that his scandals and sulking replies are being viewed by millions of viewers is his own country as well as abroad.  To cut a long story short, the television is an indispensable gift of our age. It is alleged that too much of exposure to the screen is likely to damage our eyes. But a controlled use of it and wholesome practices like splashing the eyes with water after seeing the programme would easily set off the little demerit that it has.

Babu saroj created new article My wish .
It is not any imaginary event that I am going to narrate. In actual fact, my father once gave me this poser that I could wish for anything, except money. My demand indeed put him at bay for the least expected it; but thereby hangs a tale, as says Shakespeare. My uncle is an English teacher and a bachelor. His room has ever been my cherished dream. I love the double-decker desk at which he works and studies. Its glossy red floor, bare-furnished clean bed, the ticking time-piece and array of books have always cast their magic spell on me. I go to him every day for the correction of lessons in English composition and translation. This daily exercise has not always been palatable to me, because he is sometimes harsh to a fault in his correction. I feel demoralized. But at the same time his fine sense of language and composition and his room attracts me. But over and above everything the dainty little almirah with sliding glass doors atop the main one has always been my temptation. Given the chances and scope I could have stolen it and placed it on my reading desk.  My reading desk is a bare wooden one. I placed on it an old saree of my mother to improve its barren look. My books and copies remain arranged on it nearly and in perfect order. An image of the goddess of learning is installed on an improvised rack. Everyone appreciated my taste and sense of order. But a deep sense of dissatisfaction troubled me constantly, the more I became enamoured of the room of my uncle. One may call it a boyish ambition, but so it was. I wished to own a similar almirah in which I shall keep my most favourite books in perfect order. The image of the goddess of learning shall be kept in the middle of the books thus arranged.  Every day the imagination fired in me a fresh zeal for studies. The imaginary picture of the reading-desk, the increase stand with perfumed sticks and the coveted almirah encouraged me every day. But at the same its absence and a conscious feeling that it was never to be, often made me sad. ‘Necessity is the mother of invention’. I had read in an ‘expansion of ideas’ chapter that when one feels powerfully the necessity of something in his life, he is bound to invent a method of achieving it.  A couple of days later my younger sister who had set a bowl in the little almirah that contained her dolls. It was missing. As my father returned in the evening after his day’s hard work, my mother narrated to him the incident. My father was indeed taken aback for it could never be the act of the servants.  I returned home in the evening after the games. After a wash and light refreshment, I entered my study room which was an old log-cabin of our grandfather’s big establishment. Father had cleared it as it would provide me with a secluded spot fit for study. I sat over my desk, bowed in reverence to the goddess of learning and was about to resume my lessons when my sister said that father wanted me.  My study room is my exclusive possession and none else has its key. My father casually told me about the theft of the almirah asking if I knew anything. I was meaningfully silent and father was about to ask me off, when my sister disclosed that I had stolen it. She had seen it when she had gone to call me. In nodded assent. At this father was about to flare up, when I reminded him of his offer at my high proficiency at the rest examination. The offer was that I would wish for anything as reward for it, except money.  Father kept his wrath a low and the matter ended there.

Though Indian women have progressed to a fairly good degree, there is a huge gap between where they should be, and where they are.  We need to understand the different reasons and address them to the maximum extent possible, if there needs to be a significant positive shift.  They need a big space to grow and express themselves. Firstly, in spite of all the education, the exposure to modern ideas, and increasing westernization, particularly in the urban areas, the sad fact of life is the traditional mindset of the average Indian male, who wants the woman -- his wife -- to work, but literally be his slave, at all times.  There are TV serials in virtually every single Indian language where this attitude is shown in full flow. However, where do we start and how do we go about educating the man?  It obviously has to start right from the school level.  Continuous education of boys can help them to break traditional stereotypes, though if the father continues with the same old behavior at home, the boy is likely to get confused.  Normally, good attitudes get formed only after the eighth standard and it is up to the teachers to attempt to distill in the minds of the boys, the need for change.  The mothers should not tell their sons about all their ordeals, but instead help them understand that girls are very important in society, and how they will grow up to be affectionate mothers. There will be a change if there is a constant education. Secondly, the men should themselves change their behavior in families.  It is true that men are now sharing many of the household chores, in families, on a very regular basis.  The most important point that should come across to the sons is that their mothers need the space to think, to grow and to express themselves. The sons will themselves understand what it takes for women like their own mothers, to become successful entrepreneurs, based on what they see in their neighborhood. However, in all such cases, the husbands would have chipped in with not only money, but also their time and advise, and even technical expertise.  This is the most important point that should be told again and again to the sons, so that the sons learn the need for tolerance, love and affection and, most significantly, caring and sharing. The need for conferences, seminars and debates, at all levels is needed more than ever before.  Unless the men also understand what it takes for women to succeed, there will not be a change.  The self-help groups, which are very active in Tamil Nadu, is a case in point.  Most of these have come about through massive amount of communication, that has happened, even at Government and local village level. The self help groups can be the ideal starting point for social change of a tall order.  The experiences of these groups should be shared with a huge number of other women.  Banks and non-banking financial institutions should also chip in, with appropriate loans, so that the movement gathers momentum. Fourthly, there is an urgent need for the more accomplished, urban-based highly successful women, to come down from their lofty rooftops of success, and understand ground realities in smaller towns and villages.  Understanding such realities can prove to be a very effective weapon in their hands, as they can address the needs of women, even on a case to case basis.  For example, the women CEOs of banks need to look at the lives of women in villages that surround huge cities like Chennai or Bangalore.  If they can encourage them to set up their own small businesses, there is not reason why they would need to shift to the big city for employment. There is a huge demand, for instance, for setting small eateries in all villages that are connected to the nearest big towns and cities through buses, more particularly, near the bus stands.  Since the floating population is huge, women can easily chip in with their cooking skills, and earn a decent amount of money. There are some skill based training facilities already available, but these should be more comprehensive, and should be able to address the particular skills needed or where the demand is already existing.  Basket making skills, for example, is always in demand.  There should be surveys at every level, to identify such training needs and then address them. Fifthly, women should be allowed to dress they want, and if women want to wear particular dresses on their own, the men should be ready to encourage such things.  For example, women often like to wear sleeveless blouses or mini skirts or  go to the occasional tea parties of the ladies clubs.  It is often seen that such dresses are worn by some friend, and when the woman requests her husband the permission, men deny such things, even if the woman would wear sleeveless blouses only in the ladies club function in the township.  The men should change their attitude. Sixthly, a huge amount of communication between the man and the woman, is now needed than ever before.  This is because of the complexities of life, and because of the increased cost of living and its attendant problems. Most of these problems can be resolved if the man and woman sit together, understand what can be done to do more of caring and sharing and then take every single action to its logical end.  This is not such a very complex task, and can be accomplished, if only the husband and wife have the will. If necessary, the help of the elders in the family can be taken.  This is because they are the seasoned players in the game of life, and have gone through far more difficult times, than what the present generation in their twenties and thirties are going through. So, a combination of each of the aforesaid steps can indeed help the Indian woman to express herself, and will indeed help her get the vital space to grow.  It is not that this is a choice.  It is a big imperative, as women have a big role in India's economic and social development.

Pregnancy is a very crucial part in a women's life because both the life of baby and mother depends how well the pregnancy goes. The only aim during pregnancy is to keep the pregnancy disease or illness free. Mother's health is maintained if she takes proper diet and required medicines for the growth of the child.  Pregnant women can get lot of essential vitamins and nutrients from the food. A pregnant woman should have a diet consists of variety of foods including - Proteins Carbohydrates Fats Vitamins  Minerals The right amount of nutrients help in the growth of baby and maintains the health of mother. Vitamins and minerals play very important role in the growth of baby. Any deficiencies in any of the vitamins or minerals can lead to the illness both to a mother and baby.  Let's understand the importance of vitamins and minerals during the pregnancy. Vitamin A, C, D, E and B-complex are essential vitamins and  iron, calcium, and folic acid are essential minerals necessary to maintain various functions of the body during pregnancy. Vitamin A Vitamin A are of two types - one that is obtained from animal called as Retinols while other that is obtained from fruits and vegetables or plant source, called as Carotenoids. Vitamin A is very important for the baby's growth during embryonic stage which includes development of heart, lungs, kidneys, respiratory systems, circulatory systems and central nervous systems. It also helps baby to develop the resistance to the infection and helps in the development of vision. Vitamin A is also essential in women during and after the pregnancy as it helps to repair the tissues post delivery.  Best source of Vitamin A is all kind of fruits, carrots, leafy vegetables, milk, fish, eggs and meat. It is best to avoid Vitamin A supplements as excess use of Vitamin A can harm the baby and develop the birth defects. It is always recommended to obtain Vitamin A from the food source.  Vitamin C Vitamin C promotes the healing of wound and damaged tissues, and bone growth. It also acts as good immune response, as it helps to fight the infection. Both mother and baby need Vitamin C as it is necessary for the body to make collagen, which is a protein and a component of bones, skin, tissues and cartilages. Deficiency of Vitamin C in babies can affect the mental development.  Pregnant women need adequate amount of Vitamin C which can be obtained from citrus food like lemon, orange, fruits and leafy vegetables. If pregnant women eats balanced nutritious diet there is no need to use Vitamin C supplement as excess use of Vitamin C is also harmful for both.  Vitamin D The most important function of Vitamin D is to maintain the levels f Calcium and Phosphorus in our body. These two minerals are essential for the development of bones and teeth. Deficiency of Vitamin D can affect both mother and baby. Lack of Vitamin D can cause affect the development of bones in the baby and such babies more likely develop a condition called Rickets, which is the deformity of bones due to improper development, in which the bones are so brittle that they get frequently fractured. Also lack of this vitamin affects the immune functions immediately after the birth of baby till the adulthood or even after that. Pregnant women is more likely to develop risks during the pregnancy due to deficiency of Vitamin D.  Vitamin E Vitamin E is mainly involved in maintaining the immune functions of our body, hence it helps to prevent many chronic diseases. Vitamin E is found naturally in various food items. Vegetable oil, green leafy vegetables, fortified cereals and nuts are the best source of vitamin E. Soybeans and corn also has good amount of Vitamin E.  Vitamin E deficiency is very rare to occur as it is available in many forms. However, for pregnant women with low intake of Vitamin E may cause complications like low birth weight baby, and other complications during the pregnancy. Hence it is usually recommended to consume more vegetables and nuts during pregnancy to make significant amount of Vitamin E. It is also advised to not to consume vitamin E supplements during pregnancy unless there is really a need of this as supplemental intake of Vitamin E can be harmful for health.  Vitamin B Complex Vitamin B includes 8 vitamins like Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6,B7, B12 and Folic acid. These vitamins helps to maintain our body functions by helping the body processes to make energy from the food we eat.  They are also essential to form the red blood cells in our body. All these vitamins comes from different sources, however some common and good source of getting vitamin complex is leafy vegetables, beas, fish, meat and some fortified food like cereals.  Lack of any of these vitamin B leads harmful effects on the body. Especially lack of Vitamin B6 and B12 leads to anemia which makes women very weak and produce complications during the pregnancy. B6, B12 and Folic acid are very important vitamins for pregnancy. Pregnant and breastfeeding women need Vitamin B6 to help their babies develop the normal brain functions. Insufficient amount of Vitamin B6 can cause anemia, skin disorders, depressions, and catch infection frequently due to low immunity.   Folic acid is critical for the development of nervous system and spinal cord of baby. Also Folic acid is essential for women during initial week of pregnancy as well. It is recommended to consume folic acid supplements for women who are planning to get pregnant as it helps to prevent birth defects. Also recommended to start folic acid supplements before conception and continue at least 3 months of pregnancy. Good source of folic acid is green leafy vegetable, fortified cereals, and rice.   Iron We all know that iron is essential in all every stage of life, essential for children, adults and for elders as well. However the requirement of iron exceeds during the pregnancy. The most important function of iron is to production of red blood cells and hemoglobin. During pregnancy, the demand of iron increases as women need to support increased red blood cells. This helps the growth of baby in the womb with normal development of brain and other body functions. As the pregnancy progresses, more iron is required. Most of the time it is difficult to get all the required iron only from the food source hence some doctors recommend iron supplements during the pregnancy.  Best source of iron is meat. Women who do not consume meat suffers mainly from anemia (lack of iron). Plant based good source of iron is green leafy vegetable especially spinach and lettuce, beans, and lentils.  Deficiency of iron during pregnancy can make women very weak, tired, dizzy. Additionally, the immune system of baby becomes weaker and baby becomes more vulnerable to infections. Women must take care that she consumes adequate amount of healthy food during the pregnancy.  Calcium Calcium is another important mineral necessary during the pregnancy for the growth of baby. Developing baby usually needs calcium to build strong muscles, bones, teeth and growth of healthy internal organs like heart.  If a women do not consume adequate amount of calcium during the pregnancy, there is a high risk of developing low bone strength in baby and women as well.  Calcium can be consumed from lot of food items like milk, yogurt, green leafy vegetables like broccoli, and spinach, and seafood. Women who in intolerant to dairy products can substitute milk with tofu or take little quantity of milk along with food as it may become tolerable with food.  There is no need of calcium tablets unless there is severe calcium deficiency. Most of the time food source of calcium should be able to replenish some amount of deficiency. Excess use of Calcium supplement can be harmful, so always take the advise of your doctor before taking any supplements.    Conclusion Along with other nutrients like proteins, carbohydrates and fats, vitamins and minerals as necessary as well for the development of baby and health of women during the pregnancy. Try to include all kind of food items in your diet especially leafy vegetables, in order to get sufficient amount of all vitamins and minerals. Also consult your physician if you want to start any supplements, don't self prescribe any medications.

Diabetes mellitus is very common disease, these days. Earlier, it was very rare to find people suffering from diabetes mellitus; but now situation is such that it is very rare to find any family without, one old family member with diabetes mellitus. But, what happens in this disease and how many types it has? What are its causes and what are its symptoms? The answer to your each question, comes one by one. First comes answer to first question, what happens in this disease, diabetes mellitus? The answer is, diabetes mellitus is a disease; in which blood glucose level, get distorted to increased level. But question is, why do it get distorted? It get distorted due to disturbance in either secretion of hormone insulin, which control blood glucose level and sometimes it occurs due to resistance, of peripheral tissues to hormone insulin. But, why do disturbance in secretion, of insulin or peripheral tissues's resistance to insulin occurs, in disease diabetes mellitus? The answer to this I will answer, but, before that first get answer to 2nd part of first question; asked in 2nd paragraph of article.  And that question was, how many types it has? Well, answer to that is, diabetes mellitus has 2 types- First is- type 1 diabetes and  Second is- type 2 diabetes  In first type, type 1 diabetes occurs due to, deficient secretion of hormone insulin. But, why do this occurs? This occurs because of dysfunction of pancreatic beta cell, which control hormone insulin secretion. In this, amount of hormone insulin required to control blood glucose level, is secreted very less and which is not sufficient to keep blood glucose level in normal limits and is not able to stop it; from going to increased level. In 2nd type, type 2 diabetes, there is no such thing like disturbance in secretion of hormone insulin; on the opposite, there is some problem, in response of peripheral tissues to hormone insulin. And that problem is that they does not respond, to hormone insulin because of which, blood glucose level, keep on rising beyond normal limits. Now comes, answer to 1st part of question, what are its causes? Well, it has so many causes, which are- 1) The first one is- diseases inherited in genes from ancestors. 2) Second reason is- pancreatic beta cell dysfunction. 3) Third reason is- Peripheral tissues shows, resistance to hormone insulin. 4) No exercise schedule, on the opposite, more sitting schedule with fat rich diet. Obesity is the predisposing cause, which if not controlled at right time, can cause diabetes mellitus in future. High blood pressure and high cholesterol level. Past history of this disease during pregnancy, increases chances of suffering from it, in old age. So that was about causes, now comes answer to 2nd part of 2nd question and that question was, what are its symptoms? Well, the symptoms of this disease are- 1) The first most known symptom of this disease is that with which its widely identified and that is, increased blood glucose level. 2) 2nd identification of this disease is, repeatedly going to toilet, to urinate at frequent short intervals. 3) Thirst for water and hunger for food is increased and even after good consumption of food, due to increased hunger; patient still feels tired and weak. Kidney does not work properly because they get deteriorated by this disease. This disease not only affect kidney function; but also affect your eye vision, going toward blurred vision stage.  4) Gangrene of foot and not only that healing process of wounds, also get impacted. They does not heal timely. Their healing get delayed. That is reason, why minor wound of diabetes get turned into major in few days; just because of slow healing.

Reena created new article Self Mastery.
In today's world we seem to control everything. We have become masters of everything that we see around us. Our constant efforts that we have put in developing various things can be seen in speedy progress that has led to various achievements in each and every sector of our lives. Irrespective of whether it is science, technology, art, music etc..... we can see a drastic improvement and enormous achievements in all walks of life. This change has been brought up in a period of time. This whole achievement and mastery thing is however related and just confined to outside. Today we can control everything that is outside and master them but when it comes to mastering oneself we can hardly do anything. Most of us don't even know what self mastery is. This is because we never concentrated on this particular field. We were never told to do so nor were we taught anything related to it. Today our education system covers everything that will help a kid to progress and achieve everything he aims for but does it cover any topic of mastering one self. A period or two for moral education is kept in schools but rarely any teacher conducts the class. They do not even know what has to be taught in that class and thus some teacher who is behind his or her portion engages that class. Importance is given to each and every subject but the most important class which had to be paid special attention is been ignored the most and thus kid never learns what self mastery is and since a nice foundation was not laid, building so been built may not be that strong. Self mastery is control over one self. One has to become master of oneself. This itself is the only truth that exists. Rest everything is illusion. We tend to master everything that is around us without even realizing that everything is mortal and thus we cannot claim them as ours forever. We try to control others and make them do what we want them to do and when we fail at some point or the other we remain miserable as our expectations were not met. Mastering outside is not that very important as mastering one self. It is an internal change. Till date we tried to change and control everything that is outside us, thinking that we are perfect and do not need any change. This is because controlling outside is easy. All we need to do is make others change so that they can meet our expectations. However, working on oneself and bringing changes in oneself is the most difficult part. One who conquers himself need not conquer anything. He will always remain content and happy as he reaches state of self contentment. He now do not have any thirst for outer achievements as he has already acquired everything. He will work the way others do but will be free from effects of fruits he will reap from his work. Conquering one self makes him like a king. No other king is as strong or as powerful the way a person is who has conquered oneself. No other victory is as glorious as self victory is. Today everyone is in need of happiness. Ask anyone around us, no matter of what age group they are, the answer will be same. All of us today are in search of happiness. Ask a kid what he wants in life and the answer will be good marks or good grades so that his parents, teachers will be happy and in turn this will make him happy. Ask elderly adults what they aim in life and their answer will be to achieve success by reaching a certain goal, to buy certain materialistic comforts etc..... and all these efforts they are making so that they can provide happiness to their family and themselves. Thus, everybody today is in search of happiness. No body is really contented today. They are searching it outside and have made it dependent on other souls or on materials. Nobody even knows where they have to find it but keep looking for it. No body knows how to retain it once it's been found. One requires a complete knowledge to actually understand what happiness is and once they have the knowledge they need to bring it into action i.e., become wise. Happiness only comes to them who have achieved wisdom and have lots of endurance. This is the reason that self-control should be given importance. All the great men who achieved wisdom had given lots of importance and practiced discipline to control one-self. One can only control oneself if one has the urge to do it. First one has to have the knowledge and should know how important it is to master one-self. In absence of urge, nothing is possible. All the efforts one puts in will go in vain if the endurance is lacking. One has to live a disciplined life. We all have the ability to do so but we are unaware of how powerful we are. We need to concentrate and bring together all the forces we have by uniting them and this can only be done if we have enough amount of self-discipline in our lives. As the discipline increases so will be the power. Our mind starts thinking in multiple directions. Our thinking ability widens from narrow lane. We will now have the purpose in our lives which is very real. Power increases in both our action as well in our thinking ability and overall we start feeling as very powerful. We until now were unaware of how powerful we were. We used to search for power outside us but soon we will start realizing that we ourselves are packed with power. Till date we would feel that our hands were not in our control, thus we used to get engaged in conflict. We used to give excuses that our tongue and other sense organs were not in control and thus we had no control over them and we spoke ill-words or have done something that we were not supposed to do. By building control that on our self we will help us realize that it is all are energy and the master of that powerful energy is we ourselves. This energy flows through the whole body. Soon we will realize that until now sense organs which used to control us are nothing but just voluntary organs and they no longer can control us. We now will become masters of our sense organs and try to control them rather than letting them control us. We often mistake happiness with comfort. Self mastery is something that will teach us the difference between two. Materialistic achievements can definitely provide comfort cause they are meant to do so but mistaking it for happiness is a real foolishness. We try to possess everything we see around us. The more we possess, the more greed increases. It is okay to go for worldly possession but the purpose behind achieving them should be clear. If one tries to achieve them so that they will give him happiness than that purpose will never be fulfilled. It is a mortal, non-living thing and it can only provide what it is designed to provide. We are the one who creates this feeling of contentment after we possess that materialistic good. Some one other might not even look at it cause it may not be of great importance to him. Thus, if that good had power to give happiness then it would have done it all the time and to everyone who comes across it. Mastering one-self is the real achievement and greatest possession one could ever achieve in one's life when compared to other worldly materialistic comforts. Today we seem to do anything in the name of impulse. We blame it and very well try to escape from the situation. We say that we did not wanted to speak harshly or abuse someone with whom we may have seem to come in conflict with, but we could not stop ourselves. We say that we did not wanted to raise our hand on so and so but it was done just before we knew it. We say we did not wanted to get involve in something evil or did not wanted to see something wrong but it all happened in a flash of impulse. Why do we fall prey to such an impulse? Why do we allow it to rise to such a level? We do not stop even for a second and try to correct ourselves. We never seem to analyze the whole situation so that we can understand where we went wrong, what our fault was, how can we overcome it and how not to repeat it in future. We are too busy in our lives and keep playing the blame game. Our mind is home for both good and evil characters. In each and every situation, we need to choose between these two. If we want we can easily get rid of evil one and use goodness in us. If we want we can easily let evil one to make control on us. It is we who has to ultimately decide. We can't get away by swaying our hands that we were not left with any option. There's always an option every time the situation arises. We are the one who lay the foundation and allow our impulse to rise and if we want we can keep it under our control. Moreover we will always regret if we allow evilness present in us in no matter what form it is present to take control over us. We may achieve a lot in material world but when it comes to self contentment goodness always wins. Uncontrolled emotion is always destructive. We all know what we have to do. Whenever a situation arises all we have to do is close our eyes, think for couple of minutes and we will get the answer. Solution to everything no matter how difficult a situation may arise is present within us. We do not have to go to some wise person and ask for his help. Our inner self will provide us answers and solutions but we leave it unheard. That solution given to us will seem very impractical to us to be used in our so called practical lives. The whole idea, the whole answer or solution will be there by rejected by saying that it does not work in today's life. This is where evilness in us takes hold of everything. When we do not try to master our inner self, all the negativeness and evilness will master us. Each and everything that happens in life is based on a just cause. If we do something wrong to ourselves or to some other soul, this is because we let our evil character to completely overpower us. Mastering one's inner self will lead to mastering of one's senses. It will help us to master all the evilness and thereby these evil characters will no loner find a room in our minds. We will be totally free from them but for that complete mastery is required. Sometimes people use very superficial techniques. They try to control their anger, try to remain calm, get involved in spirituality, always chant high sounding words or phrases that show moral ideas they learn etc..... Change has to be permanent, from beneath. Evilness has to be completely eradicated otherwise any difficult situation that will arise in front of him will force him to burst in anger and will lose all his patience. He has to work on fundamental principles of life. Happiness is something that we already possess inside. We need not search it outside in the form of some possession or achievement. We should not make it dependent neither on worldly materials nor on any other soul. Our happiness is within us and it is a quality of mind. Throughout our lives we run behind one or the other thing so that we can make ourselves happy. If we succeed we create a feeling of contentment which we badly mistook for happiness and when we failed miserably we felt that we had no right to remain happy. Instead of programming ourselves that we will be happy if we get it, we should program ourselves that we are already happy and now we have to get what we want. Our happiness does not depend on our achievements. Irrespective of whether we achieve or not, irrespective of whether we succeed or fail miserably, happiness is an inner quality of a soul and one should use it to the fullest as being happy and cheerful will help one to cross hurdles without any pain. We all have a role to play. Sometimes we play too many roles. For example, a lady in her life is somebody's  daughter, wife, mother, teacher, mentor etc..... She does play all her roles well. But the most important role i.e., role of a soul is almost forgotten. No body even wants to remember it. If one desires for fruitful action then he has to study his inner self i.e., his deeper nature. It is always beneficial to pause for a minute or two and think wisely in times of doubt, rather than regretting for something. This is because once done cannot be undone. Although one can learn from their mistakes but it is always better not to commit them if possible. Mastering one self seems very difficult task as till date we have always tried to bring changes outside. We never have even thought of doing something that would bring remarkable change to us. This is because all of us believe that we are perfect the way we are and it is the outer world who needs a change. Another fact is changing oneself seems a little difficult. Thus, we have always tried to bring changes in others. However, we cannot control others or something that is outside us. The only thing that we can control is our inner self. It is a very important necessity of our lives. Everything around us might be peaceful, everybody around us might be at harmony, but if our mind is not at peace, no matter in how peaceful situation we are, we will never experience it. In the same way, other way around is also true. If we are at peace, no matter how chaos it may be around us, we will never feel any of it. It is not necessary that we have to sacrifice our desires. This is not a per-requisite or requirement for self control. One can desire for anything in their lives. They can make goals and work hard to achieve them but in that journey they should remain stable Whatever the results they obtain they should remain detached from it. Being detached means maintaining inner stability. Positive results or success should not over boost an individual building up a lot of ego in him. Negative results or failure should not disappoint him in such a way that he completely breaks down and loses hope. Success should be seen as a pay back of hard work and failure should be seen as a chapter from which one has to learn from one's mistake and try harder next time with more enthusiasm. Our higher purpose should always be working on one's self. Rest all desires should be united with our higher purpose. Once we master ourselves completely, there will arise no question of calculation. Anger, lust, greed and other evil characters will no longer reside within us and thus we need not worry or even think what if I lose my temper or speak ill words as these things are never going to happen. This is because of complete self transformation. For an example, one can look at saints or holy men. They are in a state of complete self control. It's like they possess themselves. Nothing can touch them or bother them. They are like those huge rocks which remain immobile even in drastic weather conditions. Such is their stability. They are free of all senses of aggression, irritation etc..... They have mastered their passions as well as appetites. Their mastering art has brought them to the light and now there is no scope of any darkness in their hearts. They have completely given themselves and united with the Holy God. This kind of complete transformation will leave no possibility even for a small spark of anger to ignite or any sort of evil character to reside. Spirituality is not a philosophy or mere words or theory regarding which question has to be raised. It is something that has to be experienced. It is something that we have to evolve inside us. Once we master ourselves we will understand its meaning completely. Most of us believe that spiritual world is complete different from the world that we live in. It is nice to learn spiritually inclined quotes but very difficult to inculcate them in our day today lives. They separate spirituality from our practical lives. In real sense, there is no difference between them. Spirituality is a knowledge about soul i.e., knowledge regarding one self. Understanding about who we are, understanding our relationship with other souls and then connecting soul with Supreme Soul. It helps a person understand about who he actually is , helps him to conquer himself and once he has conquered himself then outwardly possession never actually matter to him anymore. Once a person becomes aware he uses this awareness throughout his course in his life time. If it is learned and if not used in day today lives, then there is no purpose in gaining knowledge. Thus, these two cannot be separate worlds. We feel that it is not right to mingle our spiritual knowledge with practical world as too much goodness will not yield us good results. However, this is not right. We get what we give. If we are giving goodness definitely we will yield great benefits. Once we become spiritually enlightened we have to help others with the same. Whatever we give, we get it first. If we are spreading positivism, definitely it will fill in us before it gets spread to others. High ideals will develop within us and the distractions and turbulent energy that disturbs us a lot will be of no matter any more. Mastering one self does not occur overnight. It requires constant efforts. Initially we may find it difficult and changes may bring us a little discomfort. Gradually as the time will pass by, it will start seeming more natural than anything else. Once we have reached the highest level of consciousness i.e., when we have shifted form body consciousness to soul consciousness, everyone around us too will change if not spontaneously but gradually. This is because positivism does vibrate. Every one too will start benefiting. However, initially they may become impatient and do not accept us as we will appear different to them. This is the rule of nature that any change is viewed with intolerance initially and thus is not well accepted. However, everyone is in search of happiness and bliss and thus everyone wants to reach highest state of consciousness. However, only proper knowledge and guidance is essential. Mastering one self is a state where our heart, mind, thoughts and whole body only focuses in uniting with God. It is the highest level of consciousness that we can rise and also help other souls to do the same. It is a state where one starts possessing his inner self which was never really given importance or taken care of . Body and mind fills in with lots of power which is purely divine. Mastering one self is a secret of complete contentment and fulfillment one ever desires in his life. No strength one will ever obtain in one's life will be as packed with power as compared to the strength one will obtain by self conquest. One thus will always depend on one's inner strength, no matter what circumstances arrive in one's life. If one desires to conquer the most powerful entity ever present in this world then one must start con-questing oneself. This conquest will be glorious and victorious as it will confer contentment. It gives supremacy to soul and helps it to possess sovereignty of whole world as it is able to conquer pride, lust, anger, wrath, differences etc..... In short, one has become master of one's soul.

Karnataka has never had a situation as bad it is now, with KSR dam that supplies water to both Bangalore and Mysore, almost dry. But does our Chief Minister care ? He laughs and sways when asked about IPL and water troubles. No wonder he was booed out of a village when he went there to do drought 'survey'  after several people had died with no water that was promised being supplied by the Tahshildar.  Pathetic inddeed but IPL must go n because the entire political lot gets part of the loot..

I definitely go with the view that there should be Independent bodies, able to work independently without any interference from the ruling party. Of course certain mount of inter dependence would be there but as long as they are not answerable to the ruling parties, there could be better accountability and transparency as well..

Kalyani Nandurkar wrote: That is so ad, but this kind of thing happens in almost organisations. Truth is, nowadays, seniority and experience hardly counts for much. The younger people might be good workers and may have talent and knowledge of latest technology required than the senior person may have. But the fact still remains that the senior person has put in more years of his life to the job and has the benefit of better experience and judgement that will come handy while leading others, so ignoring such a person and promoting others is simply not fair. Exactly ! Another fact is that these days percentage wise many of the youngsters are foot loose , changing jobs and looking for better opportunities all the time rather than stick to one job and become thorough! In such a scenario, how wise is it for companies to overlook senior workers who have stuck on and contributed all through their career . Unless a balance is stuck it may become counter productive for an organisation to take on a younger worker and give him more responsibilities.Everything should happen step by step.

Why one should be disturbed if the truth is revealed by  NIA ? Truth is revealed by NIS because, it was asked by the center to investigate. What's wrong with it ?

Playing IPL in a drought stricken state is an insensitive act and it should be stopped but why we should complain only against the cricket tournament. What about the ministers who are public servants? They are wasting water for temporary helipad just for their convenience and giving damn towards the need of the public.

Seniors Services are to be taken definitely. Some organizations especially Advertising Agencies are absorbing Seniors as Advisers. But their decisions are not final and binding. But for the main services, Youngsters are preferred for their ability to adopt to the quick changing trends.
