Basically, an Indian Voter overlooks his or her priorities and goes by sensational news available in both Print and Electronic media. I'm sure, this malady in an Indian Voter is due lack of awareness about his value of Adult Franchise. Thankfully a few of the News channels are giving a wide exposure to the Drought conditions and water scarcity. Because of these facts, a few individuals are protesting against Water wasting projects like IPL cricket matches. Maharashtra Government's denial to allow IPL matches is an example.

No sir it is not right, it is right that I am BJP supported but BJP also have many corrupt leaders. No one party is near and clean.
It's natural to be a BJP supporter, Because of its Developmental activities undertaken in a very short period. But it doesn't mean a BJP supporter blindly supports all the activities of BJP. I'm a BJP supporter but I condemned the arrest of Kanhaiya Kumar. No political party is 100 percent clean. May be some parties are more and some less clean.

The topic of discussion is not just limited to novels. It talks about Literature as a whole which includes every form of writing i.e- poems ,short stories, literary theories, critical essays and the others that the new native Indian writers are coming up with and what are the techniques of writing they employ mostly.
Also just to mention a few more examples besides Jhumpa Lahiri, are Arundhati Roy, Gayarri Spivak, Amitav Ghosh and many others
Kindly share your set of information if you'll have across such literature.

LOL. This cartoon is self explanatory. I feel this is the ideal act for stopping the IPL. In vizag too, where some IPL matches are going, there are some agitations and few PILs are filed in the court. It is yet to be seen for the final verdict of the Court.
Spread the word around, bring them in hundreds and stop the matches!
I sincerely wish something like that would happen, but people give up easily on issues that really matter but waste precious time on the ones that don't really matter .
True...see the current agitations of various women's and progressive outfits demanding that women be allowed entry into temples and mosques etc. See how much response and they are getting from everywhere, but something more crucial and sensitive issue that requires topmost priority such as water and food etc., no one seems to be bothering much about.....that is why our country can never become a superpower!
Yes I agree Kalyani, we need to see what our priorities are ...I find the media taking up issues that are quite silly at times. The suicide case by a TV actress was prime time news for several days and still not done with...why not let the people involved have some dignity and privacy ? Thankfully they have been covering the drought situation too or else we would never come to now what is happening around the country..

I agree. It is no use discussing just what we see in media. There is also not much to opine. Nobody will support tax evasion. We have no option but to let the govt. machinery unearth any irregularity and take appropriate action. We are discussing here only because some Bollywood celebrity is involved. Nobody would bother if this were not case of some celebrity.
People with fame and money automatically attract attention . It is good that the central government is investigating the matter to see if there are any irregularities after which , I suppose the legal process will follow.

A good starting. As you said about Chetan Bhagat's down to earth language, add about his books too. This will facilitate other members to add some of their opinions too.
