From what I could understand it is the Tyagi brothers who allegedly have used their cousin brother the Air Chief to influence changes which helped to favour Augusta as a single supplier and in the proves pocketed the good part of bribe money. When it came out the then govt. has admitted that bribes were paid to middlemen and then cancelled the deal. The middlemen are used to dropping names and creating an aura about their capabilities by claiming to know powerful men in government as is claimed by one that Modi met the Italian PM to arrange for names of Congress leaders to be taken in this scandal for going easy on Italian marines. It has been rightly denied by government. Now I can be wrong also in my understanding. If you do not like my submission, attack it but do not call me names and adjectives, for a good debate. Please also do not doubt my nationalism.

As someone who also used to enjoy reading at a young age I complement both of you for inculcating reading habit in your children in this age of electronics. One thing is sure they will never feel alone or lonely for they will always have book as their companion. Good luck to both the young ones

The scale of the Augusta scam seems to be ever increasing with just about everybody reaping the benefits of the bribe and not caring about national security nor about safety of the people.. No matter what Italian Madame, her sycophants and supporters may say, they have a lot to answer for.

As expected now Adarsh scam has come to the forefront . This after all the top congress leaders denied there was any irregularities. Now the high court of Maharashtra has stepped in ordered the demolition of the Adarsh Society building.
The society, originally meant to be a six-storey structure to house Kargil war heroes and war widows, was converted into a 100-metre-tall building with politicians, bureaucrats and army officers allegedly conspiring to get flats allotted to them in the cooperative society at below-market rates. The scam was unearthed in November 2010 which forced the then Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan to resign..
So now Ashok Chavan, a very close friend of the Family will face investigation and possible prosecution ! The tally of Congress scam goes up by leaps and bounds ..

vijay replied to the topic The Directive Principles of State Policy contained in Part IV, Articles 36-51 of the Indian constitution. It enjoins the state to enact a uniform civil code. Should this proviso be scrapped?.
In Indian politics you make one set of promises to win the elections and then having won keep it in abeyance till the next elections to repeat the same set of promises. in between Die hard supporters will defend vehemently if someone reminds about the dormant promises. One such promise is UCC and another is Article 370 and evergreen is rooting out corruption and poverty. Ram Mandir issue is also there.

Yes the bigger political agenda is internal to finish Congress. Then perhaps China will be dealt with. We have to wait till then. The Chinese also know about it.

So be it, if I have a inferior attitude nothing can be done about it ..neither can you change me nor do I want to change because f your jibes or for anybody else's sake...If I feel the need to say something I say so without holding back, if someone is unhappy with it they have the option to comment back, that's fine with me. I dont need to show my track record to anyone..

You are also tolerated here for your inferior attitude. So why crib. Why do you always combine the role of a prosecutor and judge. It would be enjoyable if you chose one role only. Unipolar views expressed ad naseum do not mean positive contributions. Jumping to conclusions on hearsay does not indicate wisdom. But you are entitled to your views.

Honestly speaking I am not a great novel reader. I love to read articles, short stories and poems. My 14 year old son is a voracious reader and I have noticed that he is fond of Amish Tripathy whose genre is mythology. As we all know, presently, Chetan Bhagat is a very popular novelist who writes in a very casual English. Those who love the English language, they are not fond of Bhagat's English.
I want to read Amish Tripathy's Shiva trilogy books, I have heard that they are quite good. I am very much surprised and pleased to know that your 14-year-old son has reached the stage where he is reading those books, as some of the adults have found it a little hard to understand them. I personally too am not really fond of Chetan Bhagat's style of writing, although his ideas behind each of his books are good.
Kalyani, His school and being parents we encouraged him to read books and now, he is a bookworm. He has finished series after series of many authors. He is extremely fond of Greek and Roman mythologies. Amish Tripathy's Scion of Ikshivaku is another favourite of his other than the Shiva Triology. Well, books of Chetan Bhagat, I personally feel is not of his age and even he shows no interest in reading his books. He loves to read detective books also such as Sherlock Homes, Agatha Christie and translated works of Satyajit Ray.
THat is really great Shampa! Nowadays most parents complain their children don't read books but they themselves don't take much efforts to inculcate reading habits in the children. LIke you, I too have encouraged and motivated my son a great deal and at 8, he is already reading more books than a 10-year-old kid. Just yesterday, we got his report card and teh teacher's remark says it all, "Adroit Arnav is a voracious reader and an ocean of knowledge at such a young age" My day was made simply reading that!
Right now, he is reading more of Asterix and Obelix and has become a great fan of Julius Caesar and reads up on everything he can find out about him. Do recommend me some good books on Roman and Greek mythology since your son is reading those books. I am sure its a good sign yor son is refusing to read Chetan Bhagat books, no offense intended to Chetan Bhagat fans of course, it is my personal opinion. You should now introduce him to classics such as Jules Vernes adventures, he will love them!
Thanks a lot for your suggestion. He reads classics too but he has not read the one you suggested. My son is popular in school because of his reading habit and his librarians too try to give him books even on the days when it's not his turn. Now, he is in school so later I will let you know the names of the books you wanted to know.
Though reading habit is good, it becomes a problem when the child fails to restrain himself for his regular studies. I have to always restrict him because he fails to control his temptation of reading storybooks.

Right, apparently Modi has given in but sometimes we need to wait and watch. Maybe he has got some bigger political agenda to fix and so right now he seems to accept China's pressure.

@MGSingh .: A nationalist does not condemn other fellow nationalists. If you do not see it in my posts that is because you are wearing glasses which see only certain hues. As usual you are also now resorting to the favorite tactic of attack the person not his views. But you are entitled to your views as I am to mine.
