Sandhya Rani created new question Nirbhayas born everyday! Women not safe even inside own home at daytime!.
It's hardly 3 and a half years passed by since 'Nirbhaya' shocked the whole nation. Against all odds, people across the country stood together and fought for justice and humanity. So, we thought such an incident will never happen in our country. As per postmortem reports, Jisha's case is more fierce than Nirbhaya, and the doctors admitted that they have never seen such a murder before. Apart from 30 cuts found in her body, her intestines were pulled out to erase evidences and she was severely injured on her head. Earlier media highlighted it as a 'Dalit case' it soon faced protests from activists and people. After all Jisha too is a woman, who was helpless at her own home, even during daytime!!!!
Why haven't we learnt from 2012 Gang Rape Case? Have we lost our humanity? What can we common man do in this case to never see a Jisha or Nirbhaya again? Instead of blaming politicians and police, it's better we do our part as social beings. What can we do? What I feel now is fearrrrr.....to live in 'God's own country'.

Sandhya Rani answered the question Remembering Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan.
Her debut movie - Guddi is so special. Though known for her serious roles like Kora Kaagaz and Abhimaan, I loved her to watch in the movies - Anamika and Jawani Diwani, perhaps for its wonderful songs. Chupke Chupke is also my personal favourite since she showed some comic shades throughout the role. My personal favourite is of course - Guddi and also, Koshish. Piya ka ghar, Zanjeer, Mili, Parichay ..... list is not short, of course.

usha manohar replied to the topic Review of personal laws .
Most secular parties and people are ll for a Uniform civil code and personal law except a few communal parties that have not implemented it even when they had the opportunity to so, and their supporters are against it They also make sure that no one implements it by spreading falsehood about a law that actually gives equal right to all the citizens of this country like in Goa, where this has been implemented and being followed..

usha manohar replied to the topic Health benefits of jaggery (gur) .
In south India Jaggery is normally used for most sweet preparations and cooking instead of sugar.. In Mangalore we get at least 5 or 6 varietes of Jaggery and the slim round variety of Jaggery called Ole bella is used extensively in home medicines made for lactating mothers. We normally buy more Jaggery than sugar .
soon after delivery.

In USA there have been several incidents where a person and family have been caught and detained simply for wearing Hijab and looking like Arabs...Think of such a thing happening here ! The USCIRF is an independent advisory body , so one need not make much of them since they also like to play along Pakistan , which was seen last year too when they made some such observation or a few years earlier too. This is not the first time that they have made such a negative observation in 2005 , 2008 and 2012..

In my views there is nothing like personal law but the rule of the land is supreme and same for everyone. If they allow a personal law based on cast and religion then it should be implicated word by word as written in a religious book. How can you allow one and deny the other? The rule that says about divorce and marriages also says about adultery and theft.
There is a saying in our language - "Meetha Meetha Gupp and Kadva kadva Thoo". That means you eat what you find sweet but you spit out what is sour. No way.

All I can say is that Indians enjoy extra ordinary religious freedom. We can do anything in the name of religion. We can worship on roads, carry out processions on roads under police protection while all the traffic is blocked. We can call names to any religion particularly majority or even stage religious ceremony in the middle of roads without any restriction and I have not yet mentioned the religious buildings construction going on unabated in the center, right, and left or at the roadsides on government lands free for all religions. What else one wants in the name of freedom of religion.
Do you think there is another country in the world more liberal in the name of religion than we are?

I'm aware of the Health benefits of GUR, which we call as Bellam in Telugu. In my family, Gur is being used extensively. In fact, we use Sugar and Gur too for sweetening the preparations. My favorite afternoon preparation is Peanuts and Gur. It has a plethora of health benefits. Gur prevents digestive disorders, strengthens the Bones, aides weight loss to name a few.
