The HAND is certainly responsible in creating hindrances to Modi's Government by employing Dawood. And this was made clear  by the NIA. To know whose hand is behind these troubles , one need not have  Extrasensory perception. The evil intentions of this Hand party was well known and was  trying to destabilize Modi Government and RSS right from the Day One. But, Modi is not that chicken hearted child to get disturbed so easily. But it is definite, over a period he can get rid of these midgets.

vijay wrote: Can anyone throw light on the Special Marriage Act? I wonder if I am correct in stating that it could be a form of UCC for those willing to opt out of their personal laws. It has no religious bias and in fact is religion neutral. I agree. But this will be performed generally in inter caste and inter religion marriages. I don't think that we can ignore the existence and status of religious communities with distinct identity and culture. Uniform civil code  is ruled out in view of diversity of culture, customs and religious practices. I am sure that even the ruling alliance will not dare to bring so called uniform civil code, which is nothing but an attempt to thrust Hindu law on all.  I goes without saying that saffron forces have got the maximum mileage in recent period and if they cannot even now dare even to initiate so called uniform civil code, build Ram janm Bhoomi temple and change the special status of Kashmir,  they will create only frustration within their own ranks with all consequential affects.

From all this, what I could understand is, more than water scarcity, there is a scarcity of sincerity to tackle the problem in the Government.

Indonesia and Malaysia both are predominantly Muslim nations and Hindus who have been living there for centuries are battling even property owning rights there ... In fact when we were living in KL , many Tamils were very critical of the policies which gave more rights to Bhumiputras, the Malays , then to the Chinese and lastly to the Indians living there since several generations.

There is no doubt that the report by an American organization has no legal status as far as we are concerned. But even then we need to consider the report as this leaves some impression on people and affects our image.  There is no doubt that there have been incidents of killing of some rationalists/ atheists. The minorities have also been targeted by Hindutva lobby that is ruling.  False cases of beef eating and so called Love Jehad have been made for harassing and killing. Here it is irrelevant to talk of the constitution. It is not the constitutional guarantee but the actual conduct of the saffron lobby that matters.

vijay wrote: Congress can now only do so if it is voted to power which looks remote possibility today. This is not so remote. Still there are large states where congress is only alternative and in other states Congress is definitely present. Just see the results in forthcoming state assembly elections. These will give some hint.  The verbal magic (jumalebaji) of the ruling party cannot last long. We saw in Bihar.

If proper care is taken it is not impossible to have both, commercial complexes and water storages If you visit old forts and palaces and old city areas, you will see no neglected but once functional water storage and drainage systems which were multifunctional, to catch rainwater and bring it to a common storage which was then  carried to various places by way of aqueducts with inbuilt filtration and heating systems wherever it was required. In Pune, there are many such systems which were built by the Peshwas but have now become derelict because of unuse and neg;lect. Even in Mandavgarh fort we visited a while back, the water storage and drainage system was very much intricate and advanced, cleverly built. If these old systems were repaired and revived in the proper manner it was devised to be used as, it would solve many water problems. I have seen the step wells in Gujarat and also similar underground ponds in Hampi and Vijaynagar and even in some houses in and around Mangalore. They have all been well preserved so far . One particular household close to Udipi has been helping out people who are facing water scarcity .

Today the nation was in for entertainment at the expense of Congress party with their so called Save Democracy march to divert the attention of the nation from their biggest ever Augusta Westland scam that threatened the security of the nation. Rahul Gandhi spoke in his usual !!!!! manner and Raj Babbar of all the people had his say ??? and Madame herself in her hilarious Italianised Hindi spoke which I am sure most of the people gathered there could not understand .. They spoke about everything else but about Augusta. Typical reaction coming from Congress having become experts at attack policy, but I doubt if people are willing to believe them or even forgive them. One thing is clear the lady will not give up her comfort zone easily without a fight ! The Defense ministers will be addressing the parliament in the afternoon and sure enough Congress will show its Goondaism and disrurptive politics!

rambabu wrote: Thank you Kalyani for your thought provoking information on  Water Storage system even in  Historical times. This has reminded me of the impeccable water storage system through pipes made out of Clay in Golkonda fort. Even in the fierce and continuous Mughal attacks, people living in the interiors of Township in  Golkonda Fort, never felt the water scarcity. This shows the sincerity of the Kutab Shahis to provide a strong structure for the welfare measures to the people.   That vision and the thought of welfare of their people was present in almost all the yesteryears princes and rulers, visit any fort in India, whether in Maharashtra or Karnataka or TN or faraway Rajasthan, you will see ancient, but very cleverly designed and efficient water storage and distribution systems. Even if those systems were revived and kept functional now in addition to modern ones, even the remotest villages would get enough water and never have to face drought. Yes but there are other equally preventive measures also that needs to be taken, eg. reduce the use of concrete in open areas and restrict its usage only to the very essential needs.

Not many are interested in Sonia and Rahul and he should concentrate on what he promised like Kashmir and Pandits and OROP etc. I am afraid he has missed his date with history and the stars foretell he will be relegated to oblivion after 2019.   I read your article, Has Narendra Modi missed his date with History. You covered all the details in depth.. Now, when I look back retrospectively,  I too feel that Modi has certainly missed his date with History. If he fails to notice his mistakes and takes remedial measures, I'm afraid, he will certainly 'MISS' the chance to rule this country. Modi should realize this fact at the earliest. I personally feel that Modi can even now deliver the goods.

Indonesia is 98% Muslim and it's secular only if you don't criticize Islam. It has elements of bigotry and beauty contests were banned as "un-Islamic". I went to Jakarta and was there when evening Namaz took place. It frightened me. My rickshaw puller advised me to go back to the hotel as there have been cases of violent upsurge against non-Muslims. A few years back they killed thousands of Chinese Christians.

Rule with " Iron fist and steel"  is missing. He has compromised at every stage. The latest is his somersault on resrvation where he has sanctioned reservation beyond 50% in 3 BJP ruled states Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Modi is only trying to finish all opposition by going after Sonia and Rahul I am afraid his priority should be leading the nation forward like Lincoln, Sun Yat Sen and Moustapha kemel. Here he has achieved zero, even in nailingCongress party. Rememebr he was shouting from roof tops that he will send"Jijaji"(Vadera) to jail and 2 years ON, nothing has happened to Vadera who two weeks back in a group game which I also was a part played golf at Delhi golf club. The Special Marriage act was passed in 1954 and took effect from 1Jan 55. It is a revised form of an earlier British law proposed in 1872 . the law is applicable to all Indians and is a civil contract and no ceremony is required. However, the law Suo Moto is only voluntary and covers those who wish to marry outside their religion. It has no teeth and is a legislation proposed by the "Goraji" English to help Indians. It should have  formed the basis of UCC but Nehru chickened out and now we know where we stand with even Modi only talking and not acting.
