I can recall an incident that happened in a family known to me. The parents, in order to see their their only child,as a topper in academics, always used to pressurize him in several ways., comparing their child with other children who are better in their academics has become a routine affair. This negative approach made the child, a mental wreck over a period.. The child, had developed a fierce jealousy on the other children with whom he had been compared. One day, in the playground, he had pierced the eyes of the other child with his sharpened pencil. It was only then the parents realized the ill effects of comparing the children with the other children. But it was too late. The damage has been done.

As per Ayurveda, drinking water while standing is not a good habit, while some experts say that drinking water while standing may cause pain in knee after some time. The correct way is drink water while sitting and drink slowly.

@ vijay , you are right, My wording may have been wrong , what I actually meant was that the IAS officers have certain responsibilities towards their office, which is dealing with national issues , it also includes law and order and security of the country. Of course they have to have the freedom to bring any wrongdoings to the notice of concerned authorities which is what Ashok Khemka did ..

A population which is loud and boisterous cannot change for a few days to please others. Do foreigners change their behaviour when they visit India. We find them indifferent, non communicative, dressed scantily etc. but we accept it is their way. Why are you so dismissive of Indians behaviour and caustic about it.

We all know about but most of us drinks water cold drink while we are standing.

But situation is reverse. Hers in my city present MLA is not of ruling party, so colletor of Ganganagar never treat her fairly. For him siting MLA is MLA of my Ganganagar.

Gulshanji rightly said that no government officer should indulge in writing or expressing his views on media or net. In this particular case IAS officer in MP, Ajaysingh Gangwar posted in FB calling for a people's revolution against PM, Narendra Modi. This is a clear cut violation of the rule Public servants should not express their views taking sides publicly or on the net.

I agree with Gulshanji, all government servants should be apolitical . Once they have political ambitions, governance will suffer. The civil regulations are clear on that.

I think one should not read too much in that interview as it's main purpose was to improve channel rating. Remember 9.8% of all IAS officers are from Bihar and in army Bihar regiment is good. Education does need overhaul, Bihar is not an exception.
