Either way they have a model , extremely well developed country where the citizens are happy and their GDP is the highest , so what more does one want ? as far as illegal money is concerned I am told it is exaggerated to a great extent by the fiction writers ...there is much more of the Nazi wealth in South American countries and other tax havens like Cayman island than in Switzerland !

You mean Sonia Gandhi was the brains behind S M Krishna? Speaking about P V Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh combination at the center and the Chief ministers performing under them is one thing but Sonia ????...In fact S M Krishna came soon after J H Patil and took forward what was already in motion and he also wanted to make Bangalore an IT hub like Hyderabad under Chandra Babu Naidu who was the CM of Andhra . One should definitely give credit ony where it is deserved !!

Of course.. I agree that it is the opinion of the lady who has written the article and we need to take with a pinch of salt ! However, there are many stupid things that Indians do that one can agree with but not all mentioned are valid...One can only cite one's own experience to bring out any negative aspects ! I too feel that certain things are very natural, like mentally converting foreign currency into rupees, and newly married women wearing ethnic clothes/jewelry and one cannot say these are stupid . As far as carrying food stuff , lots of Indians do it because I have seen people carrying loads of stuff while travelling in their luggage and normally immigration allows it.I too carry some sweets and stuff from here when I visit my children in Switzerland and Newyork. I have never had any problem so far in taking them through ..

The Swiss have used the black money of the world gainfully to develop lot many industries which are world class. This is their plus point and one has to give credit to them. Many brilliant ideas do not flourish in many countries including India for want of capital at right time and at affordable interest rates. I was told by my hosts in Switzerland that lot many Swiss citizens put their money in German banks because the Swiss do not pay interest. Looks funny. @Usha and @Kalyani are looking at the success side of their economy and rightly are finding it fantastic. MGSingh and me are looking at the developmental side and find illegal money has supported their economy considerably. The Swiss have skillfully buttered their bread both sides.

For making Karnataka IT savy and also giving education further boost CM Krishna also had a big part to play even while Sonia was the Congress President. Facts should not be hidden for sake of bias.

I have come to know about such great painter now thanks to this post. But only issue is why Raj Thackrey is called for its inauguration. He does not deserve this association with such great painter who is universal in outlook and we all know how narrow Raj's vision and mission is.

It is not a question of discarding or ridiculing. We are in an age where it is possible to scientifically prove these type of theories. Automatically supporting them blindly and praising them to skies as Rambabu and Anil did, just because it is said so in Ayurveda and then bringing yoga in between for no rhyme or reason is bothersome. Let them drink water sitting. no problems. But let them give scientific proof when they are advocating it for others to follow. And they have not been able todo so. Only adjectives all the time.

Some of these are natural while some of the ones mentioned in the article are impossible. Not many countries allow eatables so no Dhokla pokla business and if the newly married women wear bangle there is nothing wrong with that. As far steeling the towels etc I don't believe everyone does that but few stray incidents are possible. And what is so wrong watching those scantily clad people which is not a common site here after all they too watch and photograph everything they haven't seen before like beggars, cows etc.

Yes, Usha, it is a positive sign of changing attitudes. In Pune and Mumbai, majority of students opt to work at summer jobs which prepare them fro future careers and help shape their personality.
Yes in larger cities it is the trend , in fact my son was very good with computers and programming while at college and used to do odd jobs during his break,,In fact even I used to give tuitions during my college days to earn some pocket money

Yes, they are one of my favorite flowers, here in Maharashtra too they are planted by almost everyone with space to spare and are a must around temples too. Although now slowly, these desi lovelies are being slowly replaced by the Hawaiian beauties :) who are more showy!
Yes true, but there are so many local varieties ! I have 6 varieties of hibiscus in my garden, some of them a little more difficult to grow and some easy like the one I posted..

Actually I have heard all elders and even our old family doctor advise us to drink water while sitting down all my life. There must be a grain of truth in that if it has been recommended and practiced by so many. Truth is there are many such theories which are recommended by Ayurveda and may or may not be proven by modern scientific methods. That does not give us a reason to discard them as outdated or ridiculous.

How do you think that suggestion of this sort can be real! This is just a satire. I had in mind not just the incident given in this thread. There is mass contract copying in U.P. Obviously, such contract copying ensures that money can buy degree. If you are selling degrees through contract copying, why not simplify by just awarding degrees without sitting in exam!
I could understand sir, what you intended. Mass copying practices are prevalent, not only in Bihar, this practice is prevalent in almost all the States. Practically Degrees are available for a rate. And in my own State, a university clerk was caught recently red handed while selling the duplicate and fake degrees.

Kalyani Nandurkar liked the topic Samjhauta truth ! Biggest cover up by UPA !!.
Close on the heels of Godhra episode where the Congress and UPA blamed Hindu groups and was exposed recently to the nation, comes the Samjhauta express case where Hindu groups were blamed and Pakistan based jehadi terrorists were let off .
Congress which is probably one of the most communal party in the nation has been communalising every single issue by going out of its way to let off terror groups simply because they belong to a certain community , shifting the blame to Hindu groups ! Now their game plan has been completely exposed thanks to the effort of the media ..Congress party has become a danger to the nation under the Italian woman who herself comes from a very questionable background ..
http://www.newsx.com/nation-at-9/30867-nation-at-9-truth-behind-samjhauta-express-blasts
The 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings were terrorist attacks that occurred around midnight on 18 February 2007 on the Samjhauta Express, a twice-weekly train service connecting Delhi, India, and Lahore, Pakistan.[4][5] Bombs were set off in two carriages, both filled with passengers, just after the train passed Diwana station near the Indian city of Panipat, 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of New Delhi.[4][6] Sixty-eight people were killed in the ensuing fire and dozens more were injured.[7] Of the 68 fatalities, most were Pakistani civilians. The victims also included some Indian civilians and three railway policemen.
Officials The Hindu spoke to denied any move to soften the case against RSS leader Aseemanand in the Samjhauta case by making enquiries about Arif Qasmani, who was designated a global terrorist by the U.N. 1267 Sanctions Committee.
“The first request on Qasmani was sent by us in 2011 and we are following it up with the U.S. authorities,” Mr. Kumar said.
A U.S. charge sheet in 2009 and the U.N. citation in 2010 accused Qasmani of funding the Samjhauta blasts as well as the 2006 train bombings in Mumbai.
Even after the U.S. named him, the NIA filed a charge sheet in 2010 in the case against eight accused, including Aseemanand.
