First of all Sarala, my response was not meant to discourage you but I was simply stating a fact ! You are an old member and was also a moderator and know your way around the site. You have also been coming here on and off, so it is not as if things would have changed that drastically each time you come.. Finally, you really don't now what kind of life I and Kalyani lead, so leave it alone .. Dont go round looking for things like 'warnings ', that are not simply not applicable to any of our posts !

It's a known fact that India had carved a niche for itself in many spheres like Vedic Mathematics, Plastic surgery, Chaturang or Chess, Snakes and ladders, a game, Ayurveda, Iron working to name a few. But, in modern times too India went on with its inventions and discoveries.

Exactly. These movies might have bombed at the Box office. But they never ceased to be classics. This shows the uncompromising attitude of great directors like Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor or Satyajit Roy, who never compromise with the standards and norms set by themselves.

It's true that Books have become expensive. That's why I enrolled myself as a member in a local library. Fortunately, the yearly membership is mere Rs. 150. This library is equipped with a rich collection of Books in English, Tamil and Hindi besides Telugu.
With regards to ,a few copies of Fimindia owned and edited by Baburao Patel, well known for his sarcasm and ruthless criticism , Illustrated weekly, that was available for 4 Annas in those days and a few Telugu Magazines like Andhra Jyoti,related to movies and literature are also in my small library. Old copies of Filmindia came from my father's library.

The Court has concluded and decided that the the pellets that killed the Black Buck were not fired from the gun of Salman's licensed Gun. Hence Salman was given Benefit of doubt.
There is nothing new in this. Being rich, Salman was given many benefits besides Benefit of doubt. Courtesy, our Judiciary system.

It also shows the shoddy manner in which investigations are conducted by the people concerned, so much so that the judge has n go but to let go of Salman Khan..Salman Khan and his kind manage to get everything their way because of the money power and their own star status. It shows how rotten our system has become now..

You are owner of peerless treasure. You are lucky, but I am not. I brings books from local library.
I too borrow books from a circulating library and buy from second hand book stalls since new books are very expensive now.. I have some really old magazines too which I found in the attic in my ancestral house. FilmIndia from the fifties and filmfare from the sixties and a few Illustrated weekly of India. I got them cleaned and got them bound. My children love going through them since the writing style was so different, far more elegant and dignified !

Many of the films made by Bimal Roy were either flops or in the just ran category although they have become true classics and collectors items now. Each one of his films has so much of depth and finesse that is incomparable .
Rajesh Khanna in his days was daring enough to take up challenging roles and played an old man even when he was relatively young. He was a complete actor willing to experiment with his roles and look !

After long trial of 18 years Salman Khan acquitted in black buck and Chinkara case by Rajasthan High court. Once again judicial system defeated. It is slap on our system.
