Let's hope that money does not speak louder than the truth this time. This is all very fishy. The driver showing his face after 10 years. Who will get to the bottom of this? In India money is all that matter. Yes, I agree it's a bit fishy. We can only think and discuss but on the other side the wealthy men play the role of a game changer and snatch the verdict in their favour. But he (Driver of Gypsee) said that  I never hide I always came to court. He also said that you can check my signature on 16 July.

Amitabh Bachan and Rajesh Khanna did two prominent films together , Anand and NamakHaram. Both were super stars and both dabbled in politics winning elections on Congress ticket but were both total failures as politicians..  Amitabk Bachan too has gone through his arrogance phase but has mellowed down with time and experience and realised that at times you need to stoop to conquer !

Absolutely, we should not forget that celebrities are also human beings. They have their desires, they too look after their families and fulfil other responsibilities. In such a situation some acts go wrong and some go right. This is the case with us too and the celebrities have no option to raise a finger against our selfish attitude. It will be too much if we expect every celebrity to become God or a saint but yes, if they act like a hooligan or a devil then certainly they deserve to be criticised.

It's good that he was not entertained.  True...I too am a fan of Tendulkar but he has been known to take advantage of his position every now and then. Few years ago, he refused to pay and got the taxes waived off of his luxury Ferrari car. Now this. While in reality, people like him should be more willing to pay their taxes on time and not taking benefits because that would mean money taken from other people in not so fortunate conditions. But they feel like they are gods or something and have every right to being treated differently. I agree with you kalyani on every point. It would have been great if he had set an example. On saying so I would like to comment that we expect great deed from the celebrities and when they fail we raise our fingers but when we do the same in our own capacity it all goes unnoticed. That does not mean I am supporting Sachin's favour taking act but we must also learn to applaud his good gestures too such as when he refused to advertise liquor brand as well as cigarettes.    Yes Definitely, Shampa. What you say is perfectly true.. we do have a tendency to be quite unbalanced even in our adulation. When the celebrity is doing superbly,  we put him on a pedestal and  when he loses a few matches we are the ones who take a hammer to the pedestal, so the fault lies too with us little bit. And yes, not each celebrity has shown such discretion as Sachin when it comes to advertising. We must indeed give him credit for it.

Amitabh Bachchan is still a popular actor but definitely he is not at all in the race of being that romantic and dhoom-dharaka actor due to his age. He has switched over quite graciously and is still a saleable artist. Rajesh Khanna showed no maturity and it's because of his arrogance.

Shampa Sadhya replied to the topic Rafi remembered.
I think a singer of his stature is always remembered. On special days we only observe some ritual because there is no single day when we don't get to hear his rendition and automatically we appreciate it umpteen times.

We do not get Kokum in our parts of the country but tamarind is commonly used especially for chutney. I always bring ready made juice of Kokum whenever I go to Goa.

Yes Kalyani, the fields are family owned close to my ancestral  home at a place called Maroli on the outskirts of Mangalore, you can see part of it in one of the pics and now the cultivation season is on full swing.. Wow, lucky you! It must be so nice to be able to experience and get yourself involved in all the phases of rice cultivation! One of these years, I really might gatecrash your home for the experience! :) :) Sadly Kalyani most of it is going , remember I had written about it a couple of years ago . The corporation is taking it over to build of all the things a bus stand since they could not find any other vast stretch of land that is just outside the city. Most farmers have either sold their fields or converted it into house sites. We will have to hand it over once they send the notice and give compensation..we have appealed but I doubt it would yield any results. Oh, that is really sad. I guess it is the same story everywhere in India. Development at the cost of loss of natural beauty, which is irreplaceable and irrevocable, but no one is least bit concerned about not making up for it or even seek other alternatives.

usha manohar wrote: @ Kalyani, I too use Kokam , we call it punarpuli , since we have trees in my ancestral home. Most of the fruits, are eaten and the skin dried and preserved . You can make sherbet and rassm out of it  Yes Usha, kokum sherbet is a summer favorite. In Maharashtra we make saar from kokum, which is our version of rassam, but sweeter and lighter, Solkadhi which is made with coconut milk and kokum juice to which a dash of garlic and chilly is added. I also like to make kokum chutney, especially with parathas.

I prefer the hot tea that contains only tea leaves, sugar and milk. However it is okay to take once any type of preparation. Unless you taste once, you can't form an opinion. Recently, I sipped tea Swami Ramdev brand (Patanjali) but this tasted and looked more like pure milk rather than tea.
