On the Republic Day, we had a chance to visit Museum attached to the Mughal Garden. All of us were too excited, specially I because I had not visited any Museum before in my life. We entered the big hall and enjoyed the sight of beautifully coloured paintings related to wars & battles during the Mughal period, Rajas and Maharajas of different dynasties, etc. The colourful paintings were mounted on the wooden stands. Though, the paintings were too, may be centuries ago when they were drawn, yet their colours was as fresh as ever.
I had never seen such beautiful and sarcastic paintings. The lovely and bright colours of these paintings showed the glory of the ancient Indian Art. Along with the paintings of kings & queens, there were exotic paintings related to the society, people and culture which motivated us very much. On looking at these pictures, one can be transported to another world and began looking at the life as it was experienced by the people during those times. Dazzling lights were falling on those paintings which was making the images to sine and glow more brightly. At the bottom of each painting, the names of the painters were written.
There were pictures of the dancing girls & boys. The thrones of kings were depicted in enormous colours. We saw many other beautiful pictures of birds, mammals and trees.
Moving further, we saw old clothes of 18th &19th century. The clothes shined brightly. There were stone-craving, Mozart and statues which depicted the life style of people in old ages, the dressing style and the way of living. All of them showed the culture of India.
After that, we entered in another room in the hall where old coins and inscriptions were kept as a show piece. No one was allowed to touch them. Some coins were 100 years old while some of them were even 200 years old. I remember, the coins were mostly made up of pure gold. Some were made up of Silver also. Every coin contained some pictures. Some coins contained pictures of kings, queens, philosophers ,leaders, novelists etc. while some coins contained the pictures of different birds and animals, castles, parliaments, countries & monuments. The most interesting thing was that every coin was shining so much that it seemed to be very new. These all were enjoyable to watch.
After that, we saw the bust of many animals. They were not a common cast(ivory). The thing was that the body of animals was not real but the leather or you can say, skin, was real. The real skin of animals was put to cover to cover the casts. The most exciting and enormous thing to look at was the artificial Bear. The interesting thing was that cast was covered with the real skin of the bear and was looking splendid with more glow and glitter. Anyone who will see it for the first time will suppose it to be real.
Moving further, we saw the earthen pots and pitchers. The painted pottery was very bright in colour. Then we saw the crude models of men and women. We saw the images of gods and goddesses and the samples of many other pieces of art.
The whole day was full of wonders as it provided us with an opportunity to visit these places. We got pleasure from the fragrance of flowers in it apart from seeing the pieces of art in the museum. A museum is like a container full of ancient pieces of art and lie protected. It was a day of enjoyment. There are other museum in Delhi but didn't like any museum except the one which lies in the Mughal Garden.
