Reptiles are a group of animals that include turtles, snakes, lizards, worm lizards, crocodiles, alligators, caimans and gavials. Out of these, snakes are the most poisonous and deadliest reptiles. African mamba, King cobra, Taipan and Rattle snakes are some of the world' s deadliest snakes.
African Mamba
Mamba is the fastest and the deadliest living reptile of this planet. It grows up to 14 feet in length and is olive or gray in color. It survives on rats, squirrels, bush babies and birds. It can slither at a speed of 20+ miles per hour. It's venom is highly toxic. Without anti venom it is capable of killing a human within 15 minutes.
It is found in Africa. Southern Eastern Africa to Central Western Africa are the black Mamba's typical habitat.
King cobra
The king cobra is the world's longest venomous snake. It can grow up to a length of 5.6 m (18.5 ft). It is found in Asia. Mainly in India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines
King Cobra survives on rat snakes, small pythons and other venomous snakes. It can also survive on other small vertebrates such as lizards, birds, and rodents. Its highly toxic venom leads to severe pain, blurred vision, drowsiness, paralysis, respiratory failure and death.
Taipan
Taipan is an Autralian snake which is also large, fast and highly venomous. It can grow up to a length of up to 3 metres. It is light brown, dark brown, copper or olive in colour.
It's venom is so toxic that its victim hardly survives and those who survives requires extended periods of intensive care. Taipans are found in the sugar fields and they survive on rats, birds, mice, lizards and small marsupials.
Rattle snake
Rattle snakes are found in the United States, Argentina and Canada. These snakes hunt small animals such as birds and rodents for food. Their venom is also deadly. It destroys tissue causing swelling, internal bleeding and intense pain.
Snakes, generally avoid people. They hardly strike unless threatened or disturbed. They are a part of our nature. They maintain our ecosystem too. They should be repected and should not be hunted for skin, meat, venom etc.
