At present a lot of discussion is going on about the growing relationship between USA and India.
Many persons in India are opposing this on the background that
1) USA has always supported our born enemy Pakistan.
2) USA is an extreme selfish country which does friendship for its own sake and later destroys its friends whenever it is required (e.g. Saddam, Taliban, and Laden).
3) It has always worked for weakening India.
4) American people do not respect Indians.
5) It tries to become global Godfather and has mighty military bases all over the world which it uses to influence the internal and external policies of all the countries.
6) It tries to exploit all the countries.
7) It even destroys any country on the basis of any fake reason only to get hold on the natural resources of that country.
8) It has a history of murdering a large proportion of population of many countries in the name of ideology (wiped out 1/3rd population of Vietnam).
9) Use every decisive technique to attend its goals.
But to understand why USA did the most of such things and to estimate its true nature or scopes of friendship of our country with USA we have to consider some points.
There are some basic attributes about USA which can’t change and they are-
1) It always does those things which are necessary for its own benefit. It makes relation with only those countries which can provide it some benefit.
2) It is a country which has deep roots of democracy.
3) It always thinks that if people are not on the side of USA they are with the enemies of USA.
1. Does India have the potential to change the regional or global patterns of power politics?
Yes definitely it does. As a big market and economic powerhouse. It’s a lucrative spot for investors. And power politics is more about economy and India fits quiet well in the global jigsaw puzzle.
2. Can China hope to tackle the U.S. attempt to contain or encircle China by fostering her relations with Pakistan?
Already china-Pakistan relation is pretty good. But that did not stop USA to reach Afghanistan. Only hope for china to tackle US presence in its neighborhood is by having good relations with India too and also with Russia/Taiwan. Hopefully not at the expense of Pakistan.
.
3. What are and would be the implications of Indo-U.S. strategic and nuclear cooperation for peace in South Asian region?
well. Nothing much. As both India and US have their own interest. As India will also not allow US military presence in the south Asian region. As India influence this region heavily. But seeing growing china-pak nexus. It would be good for India to closely coordinate to tackle this situation
.
4. What are the reasons for India-U.S economic ties and its implications particularly on Pakistan?
Reasons for this tie are certainly not Pakistan specific. US too require Indian cooperation to expand its economy. As today they have realized the potential India has for the future.Afterall, who want to lose cheap labor and large market. I think Pakistan need not worry as this tie is forged seeing the world scenario.
.
5. What Indian ambitions are and what would like to be- a competitor, a partner or both?
Well both. It’s all too practical. Ambition of India is far global rather than only regional. And we have managed to go half way through. all we need is some more thrust and clear out certain impending issues.
6. What would and could be the role of America in resolving Kashmir issue?
Nothing. As India will never allow any 3rd party mediation. Whole India share the same feeling.
Only way of solving this issue would be converting LOC into permanent border. Else this issue will continue to remain status-quo. As no land can be transferred to any foreign element. I think Pakistan need to slowly accept this reality. I think its practice.
7. What would be the future of India-U.S relations?
Hope to be good. But we don't trust USA either. We have seen the PAK-USA romance in the past and the way it dumped pak. USA is a strong ally to those who r strong. only common ground we have is that we are DEMOCRACY.
.
8. Will India also emerge as a potential regional power along or without other south Asian sates?
it is indeed a regional power (hard to accept for some) with china. INDIA/CHINA are regional powerhouse. I would be happy if SAARC becomes powerful and so the future of South Asia. Now our target is to become superpower. We expect a multi polar world. And this can be done economically, militarily as well as other spheres of interest. we r moving ahead..i see a bright future for us.
the security impact is of increased or decreased Indian presence in south Asia and how it will influence south Asia’s interests in the region?
In 1917 Russian czar fell and Russia came in the hands of communists. All developed nations (including all imperial nations like USA, France, and Denmark etc) became fearful of communism expansion. There was a strong possibility that democracy could end in these developed countries too and communist regime will take over the country. Although Capitalism (against which the communism claims to fight) is bad but communism was worse. Its true nature was ruthless dictatorship, as the world observed in later years. And when world-war-2 was over the intention of Russia (and other communist countries) to expand communism in all parts of world was very clear.
So USA decided to stop the expansion of communism and to try to eliminate it from those parts in which it was already established. It was due to this ideology of USA that it fought many wars during Cold-War Era. (1945 to 1991).
INDIAN ALIGNMENT TOWARDS COMMUNISM-
After India got independence, USA tried to include it in its war against communism but at that time our eternal friend Russia was a communist country. And it is a fact that whatever type of system remains in Russia (Czar ship, Communism or democracy), it always remain best and helping friend of India. So at that time it was just impossible for India to be with USA. Though India officially adopted Non-Alignment policy, its close relations with communist Russia were clearly visible and whatever USA did against India at that time was due to the alignment of India towards communism.
PRESENT CONDITION-
1) Communism ended from Russia in 1991 and now Russia also has partnership with USA in many fields. And when enemity of USA against Russia has ended (after 1991), automatically India is no longer an enemy
2) China presents a threat before the USA due to its (Chinese) intention of becoming a global “leader” (that is not a problem for India).
3) And we should not forget that despite opening up of its economy, china is still a communist country.
4) Many specialists in world are suspicious that China has an imperial mentality and it want to include whole Asia in its territory.
5) China possesses many inter-continental missiles which are able to destroy most of the cities of USA.
6) Rising Muslim jihad is now a global problem. India was facing it from a long time and now USA is also shivering due to it.
7) Though Pakistan was partner of USA during cold-war era but it is now becoming a global office of Muslim-Jihad(so called ) and now it is a problem not only for India but also for USA.
8) India was always an answer to Pakistan and China.
9) And when India is not an enemy, when it has the same democratic and human values, when it can help USA in its new problems why not USA will want partnership with India.
10) And if USA will be a strategic partner of India, definitely USA will wish that India should remain strong and in that condition all the advanced weapons of USA will remain available for India (obviously on a price).
11) This would ultimately help both India and USA. We should not forget that how a tiny country like Israel is continuously defeating all the neighboring giant Arabic countries only due to military aid provided by USA.
12) And certainly Indian deep rooted human values can show a way to USA and we can stop USA from inhuman, unjustified wars in the future (like that in Vietnam and Iraq), only after helping USA in justified wars (against Chinese expansion policy and Jihad and Pakistan).
And only as a friend we can stop USA from becoming an imperial country. We only can teach it that “Two or more powerful countries can survive at a time in this world (with full co-operation and prosperity) if their geographical boundaries do not touch each other (Chanakya)”. Time is demanding for the strategic partnership of USA and India and they both can become true friends as Russia and India ARE at present.
